Words can not describe how wonderful it has been to make a dream come true. Often we think of things we want to do, and then.. we start but don’t finish.. or maybe never start. But this time was different.

I had dreamed of a website for my free sewalongs. A place where I can publish a block a week. Something fun, organic and not planned to the max.
In other words.. something fun for me to do!
And my other goal was a quilt made in the 182 day Solstice.. and I did it!

You can click this photo for a larger image of my quilt

I will add a 2″ wide outer border as a small frame.
Then I will send my quilt to the ‘Spa’ to be quilted…. my quilts LOVE going the Spa!

TaDa!!
Thank you everyone for jumping in, busting your stash, having fun and generally being the most amazing group of quilters I know!
I put our link party here so if you have not loaded your photo, or looked lately, you can see all the incredible ways my design has been done!

Our guild is making this quilt this year. Can we still get the pattern for winter soltice
I honestly need to attend your quilting classes
Gosh the quilts are lovely, I have yet to finish mine, seems the older I get the more things I get involved with. Will keep going though. Margaret Anderson.
I don’t know why I can’t get many of your links to go through but I as much as I like your word fabric for the back of your flag quilt, I think the other one is more appropriate because it looks like fireworks!
I couldn’t even get your email link to work. Is anyone else having any trouble or is it just me?
Love your Solstice Quilt, it is absolutely beautiful. I also love seeing everyone’s quilt. They are all so different and beautiful. Can’t wait till your next one Pat!!!
WOW!!! Great job, quilters!
Congratulations on a successful quilt along! The results are stunning. I’ve been watching from afar and wish I could have participated. Maybe your next one? I’m always in awe of your capabilities, Pat. You’re like the “pied piper” of quilting!
Hi Pat. I love the colors of your Solstice. I have yet to finish my blocks, due to ill health. I sure loved seeing all the different ways people constructed their blocks and the finishing touches they used. Thank you for all you do. I have quilted for over 60 years and never did anything like this asymetrical(?) quilting. I loved doing it and look forward to the next BOW sew-along with you. Bless you. Charlotte
Lovely! Lovely! Lovely! (did I say Lovely?)
Íts beautiful Pat , If you were Canadian that would be perfect for Canada day 😊 . It looks wonderful in the red and white theme ! Unfortunately I didn’t get to sew along this time , just too much going on in my life right now but I sure enjoyed watching your journey and all those who participated.
These quilts are all so beautiful! I joined late and copied a bunch of the patterns but was in the middle of another quilt at the time so I have made any of the blocks. I am looking forward to the next quilt along and hope I can follow along week by week. (Of course I am in the middle of another quilt right now…) What a great project!
Wow they are all so beautiful! Nice work everyone! They look good in all the colors.
The array of fabrics and colors as amazing. I don’t think I could be a judge and select a winner as they are all winner. Loved doing it.
Glad I’m not the only one. I have too many colors and its not pleasing to look at. Ive pulled six to redo and unfortunately the big middle is one of them.
They are all so beautiful. I just marvel at how fun your patterns are in any colorway a person chooses to go with. You are spectacular! and I love this doing it on the go as you progress each week with ideas. Keeps me going in my old age and the health problems I have had this last month or so. Need to sew every day. If I am not at my machine, my son knows I am REALLY sick!!!!! Because sewing usually is a restful meditation that takes my cares away. Thanks Pat. Will try to get a better photo and post. Just love my Solstice!!
Pat-I consider you my long lost sister. You have come into my life with your beautiful quilts. Giving us a chance to make our own with your instructions and guidance. Keep up with your work. We are enjoying it.
Pat, I have not taken pictures of my 25 blocks yet but I am thrilled I kept up and just have to put together. Thank you for this free and amazing class.
Pat your solstice quilt is beautiful and I love it. I see you plan to add a 2 inch border to it but was thinking of leaving mine without a border. Was wondering what you think of not adding the additional border? Thanks so much for this project, I loved doing it right along side of you and so many amazing quilting ladies. Everyone did an awesome job and there are so many beautiful color combinations.
Wow, so many beautiful tops! I have 4 more blocks to do, then put together. Thanks so much Pat!! Nice work ladies!!!
I’ve got 14 blocks done so far but I was wondering I’d the checkered blocks in between are cut 2 1/2″ squares?
I am just blown away by the beauty of all these fabulous quilts. I’ve been following along every week–watching, but now sewing. I really must join your next sew-along. I have BOXES!! of scraps just looking for a home.
These are all so beautiful. I made the first 4 blocks but due to arthritis issues in my hands I had to postpone my sewing. I was using so many different color fabrics that I think when I restart I will concentrate on 2-3 colors. Thank you, and looking forward to your next quilting project adventure.
It’s gorgeous!
Thank you Pat Sloan I really enjoyed this adventure you invited us all to share with you. I have never done anything like this before, but I really loved it. I can’t wait for the next one.
Sincerely Annetta Slaten.
Beautiful, thanks for taking us on this quilting journey with you. Truly enjoyed it. Love your quilt. There are so many pretty ones. Thank you.
Wow Pat it’s beautiful but then again they all are! It must blow you away as the designer seeing all these quilts together, all different but all linked by your dream. Can’t wait to add mine to the gallery.
Thank you so much for sharing your vision with us all.
