I had fun thinking about this weeks topic and would love for you to share some stories… the GOOD ones.. wink!

Block #12 is ‘Family Reunions!’
Do you have them now? In the past? Do you have a super favorite story about where Uncle Harry did… mmmm.. maybe that isn’t a good one to share.. haha!
Share your Family Reunion story with me in the comments…. and keep reading…I have a tip for you on fussy cutting

I decided it was a pineapple kind of day, so I fussy cut them by placing the ruler JUST under the stems before I cut.
to duplicate this for any fabric,
- Pick a spot on a fabric that you can see on each, like the area under the pineapple rim.
- Line up the ruler
- Be sure the fabric is going the same direction for each one you cut.

And I like to audition the block before sewing
It helps me keep the pieces in the right order since I wanted ALL the pineapples to go the same way except one.
Can you spot the renegade?

Putting just the block in repeat, then turning it gives a great alternate image.
I’d LOVE to do this one so I can play with color to create an alternate image, I have a coloring page too so you can try out combinations.

awesome memory Machelle!
I started cracking up after I read this. My sister and I as young girls went to a family reunion and actually had fun. We laughed and laughed on the way home because while we were sitting in the back seat of our family station wagon a Bobby Gentry song called family reunion came on the radio! We laughed because some of the words in the song sounded exactly like the conversations we had just heard all afternoon…right down to the conversation about fabric:0 !! (Yellow dotted swiss!) Oh I can hear the song now in my head.
Easter with my husband’s extended family was always great.
Then summertime reunions in parks with all the aunts, uncles and cousins on my side of the family were terrific too.Great cooks were had in both sides of our families!!
It was the great food I remember most. We kids always had a rip-roaring time playing with cousins (and avoiding the elderly aunties who always wanted a kiss!). I think my love of potato salad came from all those reunions–we had some great cooks!
I remember the first family reunion I attended. My mother died when I was 4 and there were 10 of us kids. I was in my 50’s when I finally got to meet my brothers and sisters as all of us went to different homes. I think I have only missed on reunion in over 25 years since then.
Love the reunion block! My best reunion memories were from my very early years. Maternal side of the family gathered at a local park that was a faux beach, complete with sand and big beach umbrellas! We young’ns loved it!
That’s okay will give me a week to get caught up with my blocks. With my new grandson to go see and yard work starting I’m getting behind with my sewing. I love this weeks block.
