Jan 1, 2017… the first page of our new year is so FULL of possibilities! My personal tradition is to be SURE I do a few minutes of ALL the things I want to do MORE of this year. For me that is…

  • Sew sew sew!!! did I mention sew?
  • Take a walk, I want to walk more
  • Take a few minutes to be relaxed, maybe read, look at a book, or just listen to some music. Take some time to let my mine think. I tend to be a go-go-go person and have to force myself to slow down.

The Quilt behind my Question is my new ‘Pinwheel Park’ Layer cake pattern + one fabric pattern, hope you make one!

  1. I have sewn a block and picked my grand children up at the airport and am going to make a family favorite of lasagna before playing with my grandkids and reading them a story before bed. All in all a great satisfying day!!!!! Thank for the chance to win!

  2. I have started an art quilt project that needs to be done by February for a show in March. Also have started packing for a move to Cuenca, Ecuador in April/May of 2017. Once settled in, I plan to open an art studio that deals in fiber arts, teaches art quilts, traditional quilting and making quilts from photos. Ecuador is big on arts and this will offer another way of expressing ones self through the use of fabric and othre materials.
Thanks for the wonderful patterns you provide and for helping me to get going on finishing up a lot of UFOs.

  3. I stuck to my new year’s resolution today: I worked on a WIP (I am planning to finish quite a few of those!). Besides that I started a new book, took a walk and enjoyed time with my family. A good day!

  4. I plan to sew, take a walk and have a project ready to work on while I watch the Parade of Roses tomorrow! Happy New Years!

  5. Today, I’m resting because I have a terrible cold gifted to me by one of our Christmas guests. I’m thoroughly enjoying looking through all the quilty goodness online. Thank you. Happy New Year!

  6. I am kicking off the new year with a house full of Grand-children… though I have made my UFO list and I’m looking forward to seeing which one I will work on first. I have my day tomorrow (the 2nd) set aside for spending in my sewing room, and I do plan to get a bunch of sewing done- gonna get caught up on the solstice challenge and work on the splendid sampler while I’m in there. My plans for the new year are to work on those UFO’s work on busting the scraps (2 big boxes full LOL) and of course the new mystery- trying not to start anything new yet.

  7. The first thing I did this morning was to sew. Last night before going to bed I cut out the Churn block for the Summer Solstice and had it ready at the sewing machine! Now I am relaxing, and next I will do some organizing! Happy New Year!

  8. I don’t meand to be a downer, but, my darling hubby passed away on Christmas Eve, so today I wrote thank you notes and cleaned out some of his things, with many more to go.
I so hope I can return to sewing soon and your new Soliste Challenge may be just what I need to get started on the rest of my life.
thanks for all you do for us quilters

  9. 1. Church
    2. Extra special Aurilio’s pizza for lunch, then start diet to loose 20 lbs. before hip surgery
    3. Add binding to last UFO from 2016
    4. Send out questions for upcoming Lady’s Bible Study
    My New Year’s day plans

  10. I plan on clearing off my sewing table a bit and MAYBE getting a bit of sewing done. Other than that, spending time with the family!
    Happy New Year, y’all!

  11. I made a jelly roll race quilt today. Need to add border, then sandwich and quilt. I also cooked a 14 pound turkey with the fixins for just my husband and myself… can you say leftovers???
    Happy New Year to all.

  12. After I get off work, I will be working on the final two clues and “reveal” block assembly for the Quiltville mystery quilt En Provence.

  13. I have already cooked ham, black eyed peas, greens, and cornbread. We had a great lunch and I’m kicking up my feet watching tv. Then I plan to sew a jelly roll that I got in one of my mystery boxes! Happy new year!

  14. Quilt, read, walk my puppy, spend time with family and especially the grandchildren, get to that darn gym and cook beautiful healthy meals.

  15. Choose fabrics for the 182 day Solstice challenge. Continue on the reorganization of my sewing/craft space.

  16. I plan to work on my Splendid Sampler blocks and in my UFO´s and read my new book. Happy New Year and thank you for the giveaway!

  17. I plan to finish a quilt for our eldest granddaughter in time for her graduation from college in May! Then on to other projects which include sewing, quilting, knitting and cross stitch.

  18. It is New Year’s Day, for the last 3 years I have done the Merry Mayhem Mystery quilt for New Year’s Day. Just finished piecing the quilt top for 2017, the 4th year in a row. Fun, and it lets me postpone taking down the Christmas tree!

  19. I went to pet the fabric at the store! $70 later (I was being good) and several hours of laughter later, I reluctantly left. (They said something about a silly closing time.)!

  20. I spent part of New Years day pulling a slow roasted pork butt for BBQ as a symbol of bountiful things to come for 2017. I also ordered thread for my embroidery machine so I can do some lovely blocks and ITH quilting. I have a few UFO’s I need to finish up and then I can work on the Moda Be My Neighbor project and some Splendid Sampler blocks. I also have a few of the Button Lovers designs I want to play with (I love buttons!).

  21. I am planning to finish up some of my UFO’s that have been piling up!! I also plan to organize my new sewing space….(we just moved and I am slowly but surely getting organized!!). I also have a grand child coming next summer, so I want to definitely make a baby quilt!! Whew….these are my goals!! Hope to get them all completed! 🙂 Happy New Year everyone!!

  22. I will get the bills paid and then get the sewing machine out to finish up some Christmas projects that are almost done.

  23. I am following, and making, the winter Solstice blocks, and making Bonnie Hunter’so mystery quilt. I have way too many “wanna do’s” so have decided to take the UFO challenge.

  24. I am going to finish 1 UFO per month this year so I made a list and with a random number drawn each month I will accomplish this task. Starting today. Headed to my machine shortly.

  25. Went to church this morning, then grocery shopping. Take short nap, start to clean up my quilting room, get UFOs organized, start filling in my 2017 calendar.

  26. I am organizing my sewing space (happy place) and filling out my planning so that I can continue my organizational theme for the year. Yay!

  27. Working on my Splendid Sampler blocks after a long hiatus, contemplating fabric for the Solstice QAL, and finding time for some reading. Began the day in church-a good way to start the year.

  28. I am going to finish the second winter solstice block. Then I will get my bag packed for tomorrow’s group sew at Delphine’s Quilt Shop. A wonderful, creative group of women meet there every Monday. We sew together, encourage each other and enjoy a friendship based on our mutual love of quilting.

  29. Well, I was goin g to continue to tidy up my sewing room, but took a tumble at church and wound up with a leg fracture, and broken nose so I just am sitting and taking advil, the room will have to wait!

  30. I am binding a “puppy” quilt today; gave it to my hubby Christmas 2015! Hahaha! Completed a block for my guild.

  31. I plan to balance my sew time with more movement time. 2016 I let the pounds pile on and I choose to be happier and healthier in 2017. I’ve already organized quarterly sewing goals with a large chunk of UFO’s coming off the list!
