Jan 1, 2017… the first page of our new year is so FULL of possibilities! My personal tradition is to be SURE I do a few minutes of ALL the things I want to do MORE of this year. For me that is…

  • Sew sew sew!!! did I mention sew?
  • Take a walk, I want to walk more
  • Take a few minutes to be relaxed, maybe read, look at a book, or just listen to some music. Take some time to let my mine think. I tend to be a go-go-go person and have to force myself to slow down.

The Quilt behind my Question is my new ‘Pinwheel Park’ Layer cake pattern + one fabric pattern, hope you make one!

I’m going to cut a simple quilt to send to my sewing granddaughter to put together. I am thinking of rejoining the church lady quilting bunch every other Thursday. 1. I have so far up at720 to church at 815 back home and tree down , all decorations put away, load of laundry, snipped my rose bush back, outside lights down, swept carpets , and look who’s tired, my 🐶. She’s worn out from watching. Going to gym to swim and come home and work on my baby quilt and hopefully the soltice challenge if I can figure it out😜 I bought new coffee this weekend guess it worked 😳

  2. Forever striving for that elusive perfect block! I love doing the Winter Solstice Challenge and am learning so much!

  3. Sewing up some microwave cozies, then the Solstice challenge that is cut out and ready to sew. Make a coupe fleece tie blankets while watching the Packer game.

  4. I will be finishing the 365 challenge and then be gin the Solstice challenge, make two teacher gift quilts, and choose several blocks from the Splendid Sampler to practice new skills. I also have many UFOs that need attention as well as my workspace. It will be a busy year.

  5. I have just begun to do some hexies, and have become addicted! My first project will be finishing a table mat! Then off to complete many of the projects that I have been putting off. This is the year of getting things done!

  6. Sorting stuff cleared out of a storage unit I had for five years. Uncovering treasures and memories. Some quilting supplies rulers, templates I had long forgot. Plan to donate most of household items as I now live with daughter and put sewing items to use of course. As for those memories, lots of smiles mixed with tears…New Year does that sometimes anyway. I took a small break and finished second block of 182 Day Soltice Challenge, I think I am gonna love this one.

  7. Organizing, spending time with my family, sewing, knitting and coloring. All things that are relaxing to me!

  8. Started a small quilt over the weekend and putting it together today! Thanks for the chance to win Pat.

  9. I just finished my 11th Aurifil block from 2016 block sampler. Only one more to go. I have really enjoyed that project.

  10. I got up early this morning and worked on my Village houses, took down Christmas lights off the house. Then Seahawks game. Happy 2017 to you

  11. This afternoon, I finished the top for the Secret Garden BOM. Love how it came out. I hope to quilt it later this week. Binding is ready to go.I hope to get block two of the Solstice Challenge done next.

  12. I plan to put together the frame for my new (to me) longarm and then do some quilting. And maybe take down my Christmas tree over a football game or two…

  13. I am making a pork roast and homemade applesauce..easy in the microwave. Then make my first night to day block that you shared with us! ☺

  14. Just received 3 kits from connecting thread going start doing the solstice challenge Several other projects to finish and start. Finish another block class here in my state. Then sew sew sew.

  15. Now that we have been to church this first day of 2017 and out to lunch with friends I plan on working on the table topper that needs to be quilted. Later I might do some hand stitching while I watch my favorite cooking shows.

  16. Today I will be trying block two of the solstice challenge, and with the heat here in Queensland Australia I will be sitting indoors working on my embroidery. I should be doing housework 😊

  17. Today I’m using my stash to make a square in a square quilt! I want to make good use of my stash in 2017, so I’ll have more room for beautiful new fabric! What fun! (My solistice blocks are already done. )

  18. I’m finishing a quilt for my daughter in law whose mum died 3 weeks ago. She’s heartbroken so I I hope it will brighten her day and show her how proud we are of her x

  19. We are leaving shortly to have dinner with my son and daughter-in-law. I will be setting up my new sewing space when we return and hope to sew my first solstice block.

  20. With snow outside I plan to sew the Merry Mayhem mystery quilt inside. I’m just making the baby size which will be a Project Linus donation. If I really like the pattern I’ll consider doing it again. Mysteries are fun, but I’m such a control person that I know I’ll wish I’d used other colors or something.

  21. I want to be sewing but I have been busy working on a project for my kid’s school biggest fundraiser of the year. (Ad journal for a banquet). I’m looking forward to being done! Then my quilting can continue.

  22. I finished up my 2016 review post the morning so I’m going to put in some sewing time. Both of my Solstice Challenge blocks are done. I just got a new carpet cleaner I really should try out but…..I think I’ll just quilt! Happy New Year!

  25. I tried an improv block with wonky strips. I will be trying it again with wider strips, hopefully coming up with a block less bulky with seams. Also, I machine appliquéd fabric hearts on tees for my granddaughters. Throw in a little laundry and cleaning and my day is pretty much back to normal!

  26. I plan to make a new queen sized bed quilt, my second t-shirt quilt & more time exercising with my puppy. Happy New Year 🎉
