Jan 1, 2017… the first page of our new year is so FULL of possibilities! My personal tradition is to be SURE I do a few minutes of ALL the things I want to do MORE of this year. For me that is…

  • Sew sew sew!!! did I mention sew?
  • Take a walk, I want to walk more
  • Take a few minutes to be relaxed, maybe read, look at a book, or just listen to some music. Take some time to let my mine think. I tend to be a go-go-go person and have to force myself to slow down.

The Quilt behind my Question is my new ‘Pinwheel Park’ Layer cake pattern + one fabric pattern, hope you make one!

I’m going to cut a simple quilt to send to my sewing granddaughter to put together. I am thinking of rejoining the church lady quilting bunch every other Thursday. I am going to get back into the habit of walking the pets.”

  1. Start by entering my sewing room and putting away the piles I accumulated while I wasn’t sewing last year (yesterday)! Get organized….loved the ted talk, got me some hours to allocate!

  2. I’m working on my 9 patch BOM for my guild. Also crocheting a shawl for a retirement gift. Also working on 2 scarves and hats for late Christmas gifts, all while doing the Solstice Challenge.

  3. I plan to finish cutting all the pieces for a quilt today so I can take it along with my little Singer Featherweight to my daughter’s later this week. She will be having surgery and I will be caring for her, along with my three grandchildren. I’ve already told her to have the dining room table cleaned off and ready to use as my temporary sewing station.

  4. After I get my handicapped sister’s house cleaned , planning on working on my Bonnie Hunter mystery,as leaders and enders while finishing up my kaliascope quilt top

  5. Sew my first quilt! I’m a new entry to the club!
Start to follow a new big dream.
Learn to be carefree as my kids

  6. Working on a UFO. It is a Block of the Month that has been “resting” in a box for quite some time!

  7. Spending the day with family. Also, preparing for friends from Chicago who will be visiting tomorrow. Today is a good day for a good day.

  8. I have a plan to finish so many of the UFO’s that I have. I have about 13; my friend has about 50. I think I can handle 12. 🙂

  9. I am sewing today and will take my
in between sewing breaks and cook our New Years day dinner of Ham and black eyed peas, salad, and a bundt cake I made last night.
Off to the sewing machine!! Happy New year to all!!

  10. I received a new sewing machine for Christmas this year. I am anxious to get it set up and plan to make a cover for it. Thinking the cover will be a collage of blocks I want to practice making.

  11. We just returned from a vacation, so I will be putting Christmas things away, straightening up the house, and…cutting background fabric for two fundraiser quilts, trimming more of the 645 half-squares I have sewn, and hopefully going through stash to begin the solstice quilt along ( missed everything so far since I have been traveling), and maybe getting the two blocks started! A walk is stuck in there as well; one of my resolutions is to exercise more and maintain health! Getting harder to keep weight off and keep health after turning 65! Happy New Year!!

  12. Finishing the layout on my Christmas kaleidoscope quilt top, packing for a family trip, and web surfing for new block of the month quilts!

  13. I have already made 9 blocks for a wedding quilt. now I am waiting for a friend for lunch/dinner and a movie. let the new year begin. this is the first of three wedding quilts.

  14. Wanted to sew today, but we’re in the middle of a major remodel so we’re moving furniture, etc. to storage today. The good news is one of the new rooms will be a sewing studio for me!!!

  15. Today is my birthday and i have been spoiled rotten between Christmas and today 01/01 My boys have got me tubs to organize my materials and thread and be more organised and for my birthday i received four quilting book. My room is organised i only started quilting 14 months ago and started Splendid Sampler, and now i will try Solstice Challenge i love quilting

  16. First order of business is to clean the house after the holidays. Next and most important is work on my resume as I lost my job which end on Dec. 30th. Third to work on a quilt for a friends 50th birthday. When I found out I was losing my job I knew I had to buckle down and not buy expensive presents. Handmade is what folks are getting until I can secure a job. Using Stash so that I don’t have to go the fabric store (killing me!!!lol).

  17. I plan to sew the 1st block in the Solstace Challenge (I have block2 done), & yhen I plan to work on En Provance clue 6 by Bonnie Hunter.

  18. Today is my birthday so I’m doing whatever I want – definitely sewing on my Guild’s challenge, finishing my latest book, and watching the last of the Downton Abbey series marathon on TV.

  19. I’m hoping to do more quilting. I kind of burned out last year and missed it so much. So December 30 I made four winter solstice squares and finished a quilt by putting the binding on for a church friend whose baby was born 8 weeks ago!

  20. I’m going to get settled into my RV for the next two minutes can’t wait to set t up my sewing area😛✂️

  21. Family is planning vacations times for 2017. March is brothers birthday and we 3 always go visit him and his wife in HERNDON, VA.

  22. IMy plan for 2017 is to walk everyday, even if it’s only 10 minutes at first. Join all the fun with the Winter Solstice challenge, and de clutter my house!!!

  23. I’m loading my long arm with a charity quilt today and prepping for my mini quilt group meeting on Tuesday. And making dinner with DH.
Happy New Year to you, Pat! Thanks for all that you do for the quilting world.

  24. I’m going to start by teaching my son how to sew on a machine. I can’t think of anything better than the two of us enjoying doing something together!

  25. I plan to sew as much as possible, learn as much as I can to keep up with the quilting world. I’ve learned so much in the past year and hope to follow along with you on future sew alongs.

  26. I started this new day, new year by sewing a Christmas table runner/wall hanging, I was sick for 6 weeks and didn’t even get started on what I wanted to do. So this is a head start for the end of 2017. Oh yes, I did get the park and kraut into the crock pot.

  27. I need to go to the fabric store to get background fabric for my granddaughter’s first BOM that she wanted to do this year. (she is 13 and been crafting with Nana for almost all of those years!) After that, I finish the scarfs that are leftover from before Christmas.

  28. Now that the Christmas stuff has all been put away, I will be in my quilt studio sewing all today and tomorrow.
I will also be organizing my UFO’s so I can get them done this year.

  29. Hoping to get to more embroidery on Block 88 before going to a family dinner. I need to bring a veggie dish & Christmas pudding, so best get on it!
