I have a wee teeny tiny little collection of holiday fabrics (insert eyes looking to the heavens…) So I got out the crate.. tub... um.. I mean little box of them … and used a piece of my Santa fabric for the window! I'm going to start looking for darling prints to add in!

We are on Block #4.. below is the download & link to my project page with ALL the blocks

TRUE CONFESSION.. this is 'Try #2' as 'Try #1'  didn't quite make it.. want to see?

When I made this block I didn't think about how using a different fabric at the bottom would create an entirely new look. It makes the house short. I put it on my design wall for awhile and it bugged me.

So I had a date with Jack, Jack the Ripper, and fixed it up! Don't you think it's better on the one above it?

  1. Thank you Pat! I’d be trilled to take the fabric and follow your pattern and what a treasure it would be to have a Pat inspired quilt in my home.

  2. I make a little of each. I do a far amount of things for kids and charities.
    Love these colors.
Thanks for all the things you share.

  3. Hi, Pat, that’s a fabulous giveaway! And blues! Doesn’t get better than that. Thank you for the chance to win.
I probably make 3 lap quilts for ever bed-sized quilt I make, and then there are baby quilts several times a year, too. I don’t care what size it is. I just like quilting!

  4. I make all sizes of quilts from baby to king size. But I would say baby to throw size are mostly what I make. Thank you for the free patterns and your dedication and motivation for quilting. I enjoy your emails.

  5. I make a variety of sizes and types of quilts. I usually make smaller quilts while I am learning new techniques. I LOVE your second color way on Block #4!

  6. The two sizes that I make a lot of are baby and lap as they are the ones that are for gifts and charity. I make queen-size quilts only for weddings and big anniversaries. With the computer, the trick is to stop reading and playing with quilt patterns and getting to the ironing board, cutting table and sewing machine. But I love reading your blog.

  7. i love to make any size quilts, for me it is finding material that talks to me and then a pattern that i just need to try, this is and can be a long process before i make up my mind so yes i have a number of UFO’s but i am slowly getting through them which is such a great feeling of accomplishment. thanks for all your hard work in giving us all your beautiful patterns, i am loving Grandma’s Kitchen, will be good to see the layout when it is published.

  8. I love making small projects now since I just finished a queen size quilt. Love the house blocks!❤️

  9. I like lap and bed sized quilts. Although it. Seems like I’m sewing a lot of baby quilts lately. There must be something in the water my nieces are drinking!

  10. I make mostly king and queen sized quilts, but have recently given myself ‘permission’ to make lapquilts! ;>)

  11. I like to give lap quilts away, but will make queen sized for relatives. Lately I’ve been into table toppers, I like to give them away as well. I have a problem with Christmas fabrics (or so I’ve been told) so making table toppers kind of help cut some of that down! I do love that blue fabric!

  12. I mostly make lap size quilts. I make about 25 per year and give them to my students when they graduate from high school.

  13. Pat, you are such a special lady to teach us your knowledge and short cuts to make things easy and I love all the little blocks you are posting. Looks great

  14. I have been doing mostly bed quilts but am planning on smaller projects like table runners. Thanks for this opportunity to win.

  15. I make a lot of Throws for family members and close friends. Baby quilts when we have an addition to the family. 😉 Quilting is my happy place.

  16. I like to change up my projects. I will do a big quilt for someone special and then do small projects like my Row by Row kits.

  17. I’ve made everything 7 quilts for gr.children and 7 for gr.grandchild plus tablerunners, wall hangings, pillows. But, have arthiritis in my shoulders so will not be doing any more full size quilts.

  18. I love making my Tshirt quilts for my customers, however, I cut back in the summer, I am currently working on three of your projects, thank you, most of my quilts I gift. I make bed quilts, I rotated them out during seasons at my own home, I just love to sew and hand appliqué. Your generosity with your quilting skills have set a higher bar for most of us to be better at what we do.
    Thank you

  19. I mostly make lap quilts (prayer quilts) and baby quilts, but have enjoyed making a few larger ones, up to king size. I haven’t tried machine quilting the large ones though, but send those to a longarm quilter.

  20. I had only made baby quilts and table runners, small project. But my sister convinced me to do a large quilt at a quilt camp at her church last February. Got hooked but good. Since then, three twin sized and have fabric for a king sized quilt for my bed.
By the way, first two quilts were of the blue family. And this new one is blues, from pale to midnight and browns, neutral to chocolate.

  21. I’ve made baby quilts and lap quilts. I want to attempt a full size quilt now. I’ve been LOVING your ‘Quilt Along’ blocks and can’t wait to join them and try my hand with Free Motion Quilting. Thank you

  22. Hi, Pat. I do not know how you keep going with all you do. My favorite quilting projects are turning orphan blocks from quilt top projects I start and for some reason get sidelined…..so I turn them into throw pillows for a quick change in room décor. So that would be considered a small project. I really like doing this because it helps to see finished projects in a timely manner where I have done every step myself.

  23. I prefer small projects, but this year the quilts are bed-size. When I get one made for each of my children, I will revert to small projects.

  24. Oh how I wish I had more time to join you all in this ‘Be My Neighbour’ project. I have made a couple of house blocks before, for example in the Splendid Sampler and really enjoyed sewing them. I am loving admiring everyone’s blocks for sure!

  25. I love them all but do mostly queen size scrap quilts. I also like making bags and sewing for my grands. 😁

  26. I mostly do same quilts that I can quilt on my machine as it costs to much to send them out to be quilted. I love the My Neighbor Quilt, and the Grandmother’s Kitchen Quilt, look forward to seeing you soon here in Delaware and thanks for having this chance for us to win.
    Happy Quilting,
    Carol in Delaware

  27. Hi Pat, I am a beginner quilter so I am making smaller projects. Always on the lookout for new projects to tackle. Love your blogs.

  28. I just LUV to sew! If I don’t have a project or two…um four…or more going, then I feel lost! Just finished up matching skirts and purses for my 2 little granddaughters, a quilt for my sister..shhh it’s for her birthday and this week I’ll be doing my first mystery quilt class.

  29. I honestly do a little of all of it! I make a lot of queensize quilts, but in between I do lap quilts and other smaller projects like Christmas stockings, bags, table runners and lap quilts. I guess I do less baby quilts than anything else.
