Block #6 – to Grill or not?

What is the status of the grill at your house? Is it a big thing is sometimes or do you never grill? How about on a picnic, is the grill mandatory?

Tip: watch the video for pressing directions and alternate colors

Fabric:

  • I'm using a bundle of Golden Rod FQ bundle a. https://shrsl.com/2dj3q  and more options at   https://shrsl.com/2dhtw
  • You will not use all of the fabric the bundle it is a working bundle and you can pick lights and darks from anything in it because there's plenty of fabric
  • I used the background for this block but you can use any fabrics.  You don't have to do it exactly like mine, make it your own watch my video for other power options you might like

  1. Definitely grill outside & then eat outside on the deck. There is something about eating outside that makes it more relaxing!

  2. The mini Oliso, although still too heavy for your poor wrists, will be wonderful in a few weeks! I’d love to win it, it’s just what I need, arthritic wrists.

  3. Pat i have started storing my prewashed, pressed backing fabric on pool noodles, no wrinkles. I store them in a corner. Other fabric I hang on hangers.

I’m so happy to see you castless! Thank you for the tips. I always store fabric 3 yards or more on bolts. light to dark. I only store about 40 bolts at a time. I don’t want my sewing room to turn into a store. I’m down to 10 clear Rubbermaid sorted by cotton, knits, felt, and etc. I don’t save any thing less than a fat quarter. Get well soon!

  5. This is my May Rainbow quilt. It really was fun to make. All the fabrics I used were from my stash. Making room, saving $$ !

  6. Comments on Aug 11 – When he retired, I turned the cooking, shopping & meal planning over to my husband so that I could have 2 hours a day to quilt. He cooks on the grill & has been serving meals that are all made on the grill. Last night was steak, potatoes in foil and veggie in foil. he grills from early spring until mid- November.
