Drum roll… it’s here.. the #1 requested block to have in Grandma’s Kitchen! and READ TO THE END for the Challenge announcement.

Grandma’s Apron! When you open the PDF you’ll read my story/not story. I do need to dig around in the old photos as I’m sure I have a few pictures of my great grandmother to share with you.
I am now officially doing two colorways pastels & my Sunday Drive + some… I had two grandma’s and they were very different ladies so I think this really is my story to create. My memories of them. I’ve also being keeping my stories in a document. Maybe I’ll do a little digital book of the stories and give to my family. I’m mulling that one onver.
I am using these design boards to keep track as I sew. It really helps me so I don’t twist & turn pieces by accident.

TIP!!! – When tracing fusible and doing my donut method, you can save fusible by tracing images inside of larger images. I give you photo step by step fusible directions in my APPLIQUE BOOK. The dress & apron are PERFECT for this. Be sure you LEAVE SPACE between the shapes. Don’t be too frugal with your Heat n Bond lite.
If you plan to do a LOT of fusible applique like I do, you can get a box if Heat n bond, it’s what I own GET HERE

So some of you tell me you are allergic to applique (really.. you aren’t.. because by machine it’s easy & fun.. I teach you HERE)
I have this really cute full quilt of dresses with an alternate checkerboard pattern. it’s in the PDF… you are welcome.. but you REALLY should applique…. it gives you such cute things!

I love this, have never done a quilt along, but this grabbed me. My grandmother was a southern cook. Not only aprons, but pies, family dinners, and sweet iced tea. She also had a singer treadle machine. I’m definitely doing this quilt!
can’t wait to see Cathy!
I just announced it Chic

I love this block! My grandmother was always wearing an apron. Thanks for the download!
Hi Pat, I’m not a quilter but I do love to sew aprons! I found your BOW from a link on a fellow bloggers sewing site I admire (Peggy of https://peggycooperquilts.com ) and had to come see. This applique is adorable. Did I miss the details on how do I get in on your apron challenge? I didn’t see how to enter. Thank you for sharing.~cheers Mona
My dad mother always wore an apron and took it off to go visiting or town. my mother mother only wore hers when cleaning the kitchen. miss them both and love this block. also liked the suggestion about hats altho neither of them wore hats in the kitchen! but they did when going outside.

I love this block and it is going to be FUN FUN FUN making it fit into my JEEP/Camping themed quilt. The wheels are turning 🙂 and my husband is also helping with suggestions LOL.
I had 2 grandmother’s also different the one I spent most time with always wore a apron unless she was going to town !
Thank you, Pat. I love this block!
The first thing I thought was Sunday clothes. My next thought was Mawmaw’s hats. Might you consider one of these ideas for another block?
How cute is that!
My grandmother always wore an apron, as did my husband’s mother. Great block, thank you for sharing it!
I love this block. My paternal grandma wore an apron every day. She’d put it on in the morning and only took it off for going somewhere. I wish I had some of them. They were all pretty floral fabrics and she made them herself.
Thank you Pat! this will be fun. I have a few apron patterns and will be happy to join the apron sew along. YAY!
Loving all these blocks Thank YOU
I can remember my grandma in her many different aprons from my summers of staying with her in Alabama. I now have one that was saved from when she passed. I am having a great time with this series. This block I don’t have to wait til the end of the work week to start. I can bring it in to work and work on it during my 30 minute lunch break.
Another great block. Actually, I am my Grandmother now. lol How did that happen. I am loving this series almost as much as the Solstice … maybe as much. Thank you again for sharing.
Loving this series….
I just love this block. I can still picture my Grandmother is her beautiful apron. Making this quilt is a lovely walk down memory lane.
Thanks,
Beth
