All my Christmas fabric houses will all have a black polka roof.

We are on Block #3.. below is the download & link to my project page with ALL the blocks

When I made this block the area in the middle was quite large, and I decided it needed some applique. What is more perfect than a heart! As I was stitching this block I thought you might want to see 'real live' work in progress on  my Baby lock Destiny II.

So I grabbed my phone and did an impromptu Facebook Live video on how I machine applique and get around the edges, do the inside of the heart & join to finish. I also give you ALL that info in my Learn to Applique Book with step by step photos.

  1. I love the variety of sizes of quilts. My special ones are the fidget lap quilts I make for charity to Alzheimer’s people. Now I’m working on a breast cancer queen size rag quilt for charity as I am a survivor. The best best of all are the tips and tricks you have shared. My stars are getting better. Thank you for all you do.

  2. Pat, I just love your enthusiasm for quilting, it has helped me to stay focused but I like to make bed size quilts rather than a wall hanging.. maybe if I changed my likes for a wall quilt I could get more done.
I love the blue in the table runner but more than just that , I like your christmas santa window, I would never have thought of that and that is one of the reasons I like doing your sew alongs,, you quilt outside of tradition and they look great..
Keep it up.. you make me smile.

  3. I make mostly small projects like bags, purses and baby quilts. Would absolutely love to win your giveaway! The only thing better than a giveaway is winning a giveaway!

  4. I usually make twin and queen size quilts. Keep making for the kids and grandkids for their families in the future. When I’m long gone they will have the quilts to remember me by. This is pretty much my legacy…Diane Kiser

  5. I mostly make Lap-size quilts. I’d love to make that table runner. Have a Told you Lately that I Love a Give-A-Way?

  6. Hello Pat,
I used to make “quilts” for friends and family starting way back in 76 when I first met my hubby. It was an occasional thing… I lost the love of my life in March of 2015, and returned to sewing last fall. A friend introduced me to the Solstice challenge in Feburary and quilting has become my passion. Thanks to you! I love looking at your designs and creations, and have used many of your blocks for recent gifts for the children of friends who do not sew. Thank you again! Since my income was cut in half when my hubby went to heaven, I rely on fabrics that have been gifted or donated to me, garage sales, coupon sales, and old clothes to make many of my gifts. So if you have any extra fabric you would like to send my way, That would surely help me continue with the passion I have developed for this wonderful art I am learning through your posts! Thank You, And God Bless!!!
    Mary

  7. The finish is 68×84. All the blocks are already available for download. This is a Moda Fabric project that Pat Sloan is promoting. It started last Fall I think and this is the 2nd time she has done this. I had to look around just a little on her website to download all the blocks. I think it is fun to see all the fabrics everyone is using. Mary/stitchinggrandma.wordpress.com

  8. I did not put the heart on my block 3 and when I went back and looked at my patterns there was no heart. I think I will add the heart since I’m on block 8 and none are sewn together yet. Love the machine applique. Sooooo much easier.

  9. I love this project. Forgive me if I missed this but I would like to know how much bigger you are making this pattern? Are the dimensions with the pattern?
    Thank you
    Elaine
