I thought very hard about the colors for my block this time… and wish I was working in Black & White today because…

The Salt & Pepper shaker are ‘on the kitchen table’ today!
AND be sure you look at the cool repeat block I show you in the pattern. I really want to sew one up.

This is the darling beehive salt shaker I bought. I think it would also be super cute to have a bunch of them to store buttons & trims in!
Of course I had to look for them… found a ton HERE, and oh my gosh.. some shaped like a beehive!

To pick the colors for this one I pulled white first. Then I decided to sort the block with the ones that had green, the ones with blue.. and the ones with pink only. There were not many blue ones, thus, a Blue block. Then the white looked too stark so i used the medallion cream with the pink & green which I’m really happy with.

Thanks Pat! This is my first quilt along and I am thoroughly enjoying it. Both of my Grandma’s have long passed away, but the stories here, bring back such fond memories. The patterns each week are easy to follow. I wait every Wednesday morning for the new block to be posted.
Love the memories these blocks evoke! This one is particularly strong – my Grandma collected salt and pepper shakers, and when she left us, we all got a collection from hers of our own – including the great grand children! They come out for special occasions – grandma comes too that way. This block reminds me of the cut glass (definitely not crystal!) of her everyday set, and being allowed to fill the salt shaker because I was old enough not to spill any. Thanks again Pat!
Thank You
Pat the blocks are wonderful, I am a beginner and they are so easy to follow along
These are wonderful blocks!
I’d love to see one with a featherbed theme!
Grandma’s featherbed and 7 quilts over me at night to keep me warm!
My grandma’s salt and pepper shakers were tall and white with S and P on each of them. I remember having to fill them over the sink because if you twisted the tops off over the table you had salt and pepper all over. When you weren’t using them they sat in a stand on grandma’s stove top.
Good morning Pat. Thank you for this quilt along. I have enjoyed both the blocks and the memories that have resulted from them. I’m sure you have your topics picked out but in case you have an opening, I would love to see one on quotes or as my kin called them, “sayings” that were used on us while we were growing up. Thanks again.
