** Tips**

  • I saved some of my extra pieces to create strips for this pattern
  • I also trimmed up odd parts on the fabrics and used those

  • Cut to create more usable shapes
  • Some fabrics I cut 2 strips, some just one.

** Scrappy Strips! **

  • I like to sew these odd shapes then cut them to the strip size after they are together
  •  Be creative with them!

  • I ended up with 8 scrappy strips, so fun!

  1. The last quilt given away. A couple of months ago I gave a baby quilt to my new greatniece Ameera. It was a bright yellow and pink pieced quilt. My lifetime goal is to have each member of my and my husband’s family to have a quilt from me. It is a very large family counting down to great nieces and great nephews a grand total of about 67 people. I have put a big dent in the numbers and Lord willing I will meet my goal.

  2. Laura Metz of Seymore TN. She is so patient with showing how to do something. She also is a friendly, kind person. She loves the art of quilting and she loves sharing what she knows. She has been kind enough to take the time to make a handful of videos for instruction.

  3. My influence in quilting is Mary Beth and my mom. Mary Beth taught me to quilt and my mom always encourag
    ed me

  4. My good friend,Mary Jane, who I met in 7th grade (1971) taught me to quilt. I started with a baby quilt for my brother’s daughter in 1999 under her guidance. She is much more skilled than me (she just completed a ‘Dear Jane’ quilt 4 years in the making). And a much more prolific quilter but she always encourages me and we still get together every 2 weeks ( except for quarantine) and sometimes we even sew!

  5. My quilting influencers are the ladies in my Gypsy Quilters Bee, original from over 20 years ago and the present ten of us. We have varying interests and talents, and share patterns, techniques, fabric, recipes, stories and laughs. We are family to each other, especially important since many of us are here in the Fort Worth area with no other family. We have grown better as quilters, friends and women. God is good!

  6. Candy from Whistle Stop quilt shop in Auburn, CA. She taught me so much about machine quilting and her enthusiasm is so catching.

  7. My Aunt Fanny and Uncle Chance made whole
Cloth quilts by hand. As a teen I thought the
Quilts were so beautiful. As an adult I took a
Class at a local shop. Then a sister in law of my
Sister in law’s sister (😂) taught me what she knew
Now I’m teaching a friends daughter and
    Encouraging my adult granddaughters ♥️

  8. My quilting ladies are the biggest influence on my quilting. I quilt and shop with two ladies. We have a lot of fun together. One lady helps me with picking out fabrics that go together. She has a natural eye for them, and I always appreciate her input. They other lady helps me look “outside my block”, she shows me different patterns and colors together that I never go to for my quilts. It’s great having such quilting friends.

  9. Who was a huge influence on my quilting journey…Mary Ellen Hopkins!!! Over thirty years ago, my MIL and I took a series of classes from her from her book—-You Can Sit on my Quilt. Such a funny lady and full of tips and information. A few years later in Huston at International Quilt Market, I attended a lecture by Mary Ellen and also got a photo of the two of us. After a couple of moves, unfortunately that photo is misplaced.
Another person who helped me in those early years is Eleanor Burns! And for color —- Freddy Moran! Have you seen her home!?! Wow!
There are so many others! I’ve been around a very long time😊🙋‍♀️
