I designed this a few years ago for the Button club, i hope you enjoy my tips and the pattern!

  1. To use patchwork for an applique shape my big tip is to press the seams open like step (1) above.
  2. Then when placing the shape, try to avoid a major seam at the edge of the shape. I'm using my favorite  scissors  for the applique, you really need a pair!
  3. Stitch using the blanket stitch like in my applique book.
  4. Or use a straight stitch like I show you in my newest 'Teach Me' book with the basics. A straight stitch is the best way to learn fusible applique and my pumpkin is a nice easy shape.
  5. Quilt with straight lines and then audition button placement.

I am ONLY using the layer cake and this time I used Jen Kingwell's behind the Scenes & the Grunge Dot in Black

And if you are looking for batting..the New Happy Cloud batting is DIVINE! you NEED some!

In case you missed it last month.. I made bee blocks & another churndash… i love those bees!

The buttons ship from Fat Quarter Shop on the 4th of the month and it’s a 12 month program, and I'm designing the project each month!

  1. UPDATE! Sorry, the Churn Dash & Sunflower are from August 2017, not this year.
If you visit https://blog.patsloan.com/button-club/ you’ll see Pat created a Sheep pattern for August 2019 but none for July or June. I guess she only promised a monthly pattern for the first 2 years of the Button Club. I’m just glad she’s shared what she has!

  2. I need some bee buttons, do you have them for sale? Please, send me the web site where I can buy them.

  3. The Bee block is from Lori Holt’s book ‘Farm Girl Vintage 2’ and Pat cannot legally share the pattern with you/us.
If you click on where she says “missed it last month”, you will see Pat’s pattern for August’s Button Lovers Club (Churn Dash and Sunflower blocks).
If you want a particular group of buttons, try calling the Fat Quarter Shop at 1-866-826-2069. If they have any left, I’m sure they would sell them to you.
    Good luck!

  4. Hi Pat I keep trying to get the bee pattern but it’s taking to a quilt pattern
    Thanks,

  5. Hi Pat, I just saw your 8.5″ x 16.5″ banner that are on your sight. Don’t know how I missed it before!! I have the printed instructions and are looking for the button kits. How do I get the one for the Bee Banner and the Halloween Banner? I looked on the Fatquarter Shop sight but did not find them. I joined the Monthly Button Club but can I get these particular button sets? Thanks a lot, Deborah

  6. I just notice that I don’t have the Button Club patterns for June or August. Is there anyway I can still download them?
