Block Wednesday!
My theme this week is picking flowers, which might be the BEST part of being a gardener right? Go out to your own flower beds and pick a vase full of blooms! Divine! I have an old splatterware jug that belonged to Gregg's grandmother. I fill it each spring.
We also have the next set of small blocks, so fun! This is a PERFECT time to use up smaller pieces to make a scrappy block. Keep reading to see my tips and the section together, then the Download for my pattern this week is in PINK
TIPS FOR DIE CUTTING
- Always move your dies around so that you don't keep cutting on the same section.
- I've found that when I angle the die on the shim it does a few things. First it more evenly distributes the die across the roller that is pressing to cut the fabric. Which means it won't be as loud.
- It also creates more even pressing areas on the shims so that you don't have a hard line. That keeps the shims from bending as much.
- I live with an engineer, he had to play with this to figure it out. it's what they do.. they can't help themselves. Do you know an engineer? Then you know what I mean!

Love your tulip pattern and your pumpkin pattern too. I always put up a wall hanging for each holiday. These would look terric

I need winter quilts, for sure! I adopted two little ones, and I’ve been so busy making new and varied things for their bedrooms for every holiday/season! <3 Now if I could only finish them! lol

I have not thought about seasons before. I love the spring and the color of spring flowers so I would say spring.
Need quilt and table toppers for Thanksgiving Dinner. I always host the family dinner but for some reason have never made quilts to celebrate Thanksgiving. I promised myself that for 2019/20 I will make a special quilt for Thanksgiving.
Congratulations on your new book! I love your tulip quilt but definitely need a few more summertime quilts and runners.

I definitely need summer quilts. I get inspired by the fall colors and the winter holidays but summer is missing.
Fall and spring — the transition seasons when everything in nature is changing are my favorites. I always need ideas for those seasons. Fall with the harvest, changing leaves, southwestern desert transitions are subtle, but glorious after hot, dry summer. Spring with our purple mountains covered with golden poppies and blooming cacti. Certainly do not need more Halloweeny stuff–that’s available everywhere in abundance. I like that your patterns and designs, Pat, are unique.

Fall has always been my favorite season but, sadly, I have not one fall quilt! I love the colors and smells of fall. Reds, yellows, oranges, browns…ironically, my favorite color has always been blue, but the combo of fall colors is so cozy and warm. A fall colored and themed quilt is on my bucket list!
