Today our Block Wednesday kicks off.. woohoo! If you are out of the loop somehow, I run a FREE Block Wed Quilt alongs several times a year.  I have been doing this Block wed for almost  for many many years now.  

Each Wednesday a new simple block comes out and i have a theme, and often stories, for the Quilt Along.  Block #1  below and more details at the project page.

  1. I find fat quarters to be most versatile. However, they are also more expensive! I’m starting to like layer cakes, though.

  2. My favorite pre-cuts are fat quarters. A layer cake would be fun to try.Happy 10th anniversary Pat Sloan and thanks for so many nice give aways.

  3. I have recently purchased my first layer cake and am searching for the perfect pattern. I usually purchase yardage and remnants from my local shop. On your advice, I just ordered the Perfect 10 book from FQS. I’m so excited to try some new patterns.

  4. My favorite precuts are fat quarter bundles. Layer cakes are a close 2nd, you can do so much with either.

  5. I like them all but the fat quarters are my favorite. Really depends on the pattern I’m using.
    10” squares for your tenth anniversary. Very appropriate!

  7. Fat quarter bundles are my precut of choice since you have a bit more fabric to work with for the pattern, but layer cakes are my definite number 2 choice.

  10. I am obsessed with FQS Jollybars! It comes with a free pattern. A layer cake will leave you with leftovers and a charm pack isn’t enough. A close second would be F8 bundle

    Trying to use what I already have, but sometimes I just can’t resist beautiful yardage.

  19. I would have to say that my favorite precuts would be fat quarters. The block for this Wednesday using the Drawing Room fabric is just absolutely gorgeous. I’m going to have to have a bundle of this line.

  20. I have found I love all pre-cuts! Many quilt patterns today are including them which helps us get into making the quilt with less cutting and measuring. Love the large prints of your fabric, Pat.
