First I want to say how happy I am to have passed along my MIL sugar cookie recipe to you last week. (if you missed it, download last week's block pattern HERE) So many of you now have made it and love it! I hope that it comes a tradition for you. I have nobody to pass this recipe to. Only my dad and I are really into those cookies and nobody in my Husband's family had any connection to it. Now I feel like it has a whole new life to be part of your families! Thank you so much! 💕

My Dad makes a black walnut cake with cream cheese frosting…it’s fabulous!

A story to go with my favorite cake. Years ago my best friend and I belonged to weight watchers. Every week we’d go weigh in and after class we’d go for our once a week treat. She’d always have carrot cake and I’d have devils food cake. Each week she’d beg me to just try hers and I’d refuse stating that I hated cooked carrots. Finally after weeks of her saying just try a bite I broke down and did. OMG lol it was love at first bite. So moral of the story is try it you’ll love it.
So many to choose from! My favorite is Italian Cream Cake! By the way I just made your sugar cookies for my book club tonight. Amazing!

What is yellow cake? Lots of cakes I’ve never heard of which don’t seem to be around in England, but then we have lots of regional cakes that wouldn’t be known in the USA – long live your favourite cake!!

My favorite cake is fresh orange cake with creamy orange icing. I use my mom’s recipe from 1956. She won a baking contest with this recipe.

Sorry, I’m more of a ‘pie’ person, but there is one cake I do like. It’s a combination of pie and cake and works for me!
It is called Apple Pie Cake and apparently my son likes it too. His wife sent me a text the other day asking for the recipe. I had made it several times while my children were at home, and had totally forgotten about it, till my son reminded me of it last week.
So, “Let me eat apple pie cake”! It tastes like Apple Pie, and Apple Cake. YUM!

So love to read. Thank you, Pat. This is truly like being in a book club. Carol Dean Jones’s “Moon Over the Mountain” — immediately I am reminded of Georgia Bonesteel’s “Moon over the Mountain” patchwork block pattern. I absolutely love this pattern, and hope to some day piece one together.
We had cake while I was growing up a lot. Usually made from scratch. My favorite one is a double chocolate layer cake with raspberry filling and dark chocolate frosting. Not nice to the waist line but once a year doesn’t hurt. I love your patterns Pat and have made quite a few of your quilt alongs. Thank you for what you do for us here in the quilting community. We appreciate it.

My favorite cake comes from a local restaurant – it is a 5 layer chocolate cake with rich chocolate icing. I can only eat it a couple times a year, it is rich and gooey awesomeness!!

My favorite cake is my Birthday Cake!! It’s a 4 layer triple chocolate cake with ground walnuts and whipped cream frosting… I have to share or I’ll eat the entire thing!!!
I use to like a spice cake as a kid. A cake you don’t see anymore. I will take a yellow (butter) cake with chocolate frosting.

Favorite cake is red velvet. At the cheesecake factory they have a red velvet cheesecake that is great too.
My favorite cake is yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Which is impossible to find ready made in the stores (at least here in Western Washington). I can find yellow/white cake with white frosting, chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, and sometimes even chocolate cake with white frosting, but never the other way around. I think it’s a conspiracy! :-))
I love dessert period. Pie is a favorite because I seldom make or buy it! But a good ‘dump cake’ is always awesome and easy!! (cake mix ‘dumped’ on top of pie filling, mixed with a can of soda or pumpkin..etc!)

Ooh…. My favorite cake is… there is a long list. In no particular order: Hot Fudge cake, Carrot Cake, German Chocolate Cake, Mounds Cake, Coconut Cake (especially the kind my friend Brenda makes) Old Fashioned Chocolate Cake, Italian Cream Cake, Hummingbird Cake, Chocolate Cherry Cake, & Mississippi Mud Cake. In general, you could say that I just love cake 🙂 I did notice a trend in my list, there are more chocolate cakes than the other kinds, so I guess that is my favorite cake LOL! I do enjoy your videos even though the do make me hungry. 🙂
