My favorite place to stitch is in a campground, I always take a bit of hand stitching along. When my mom & dad came camping with us, mom and I would sit and sew small blocks together by hand, after hiking. Pieces were all cut ahead of time, we made like little kits for ourselves. I miss that time together. It was always a treat when other campers would come visit our site to see what we were doing. It surprises me how many quilters go camping and hiking!

Hi Pat! I came across this sew along late (like normal for me this year). I love the look and wanted to download and do the quilt anyway. I was able to download all the blocks but block #3, says “An error occurred. Please wait a few minutes and try your request again.”. I have tried several times. Is there another way to get this block?
My favorite place to stitch is not out of the ordinary really, it is in my family room on the couch while my husband watches TV shows I am not fond of.
Iโm the car waiting for someone. Waiting areas. Sitting by the lake. Anywhere!
Over the years I have spent both long & short stays in Hospital. Rather than reading I often take my hand sewing. I have stitched dolls, patchwork, applique & embroidery all in a hospital bed.
I stitch at the ballpark while watching my son play baseball.
Love to sit in my yard. Sitting on one of my park benches.
My favorite place to stitch is in the living room while โwatchingโ tv in the evening. Makes no difference what I am sewing: hand qpplique, finishing bindings by hand, embroidery, cross stitch, hand quilting. I need something to do with my hands while I watch tv. If my hands are cracked in winter and I canโt sew, then I play computer solitaire to keep my hands occupied.
But I canโt do counted cross stitch during tv time!
I love to stitch when we go camping in our trailer. If the weather is bad I stitch inside. If the weather is good I like to sit outside the camper and stitch.
I love to stitch on my screened in porch although the southern weather is often to hot. I also stitch in the doctors office waiting room.
My front porch is the best for everything including reading.
In my sewing room๐
I love to stitch sitting on my couch listening to either YouTube flosstube or quilting videos or to my daily devotional video/podcast. Would love to have a screened in porch. That would become my favorite place to stitch.
In my sewing room
I am a fairly new cross stitcher, so I usually sit where I can see the holes. If I was to pick a place in the warmer weather it would be outside in the gazebo and in the cooler weather in the lounge room in a corner near the open fire, no TV in here just lounge suite and piano.
I like to stitch while in Zoom meetings! Or Skype, or Google Meetup… Also, I felt like the pandemic was the excuse I needed to take my stitching to dinner parties and family gatherings. Now i’m that eccentric person always keeping their hands busy and i love it!
I recently (about 4 months) started cross stitching in the front seat of our 18 wheeler as I sit for long periods of time.
Iโm learning to stitch and I enjoy having a project to work on when Iโm babysitting my grandsons. My children have an entertainment room aka Booneโs Family Funhouse. Itโs a great place !
Hi Pat, my favourite place to stitch anything from cross-stitch to holes in my husbandโs socks is on the couch, I make a nest for myself with my sewing essentials and a nice glass of wine or tea and a movie or the Blue Jays baseball game on.
I stitch on my lovely sunporch with a view of our many bird feeders and wildlife.
I love to take my stitching with me when we go camping. Itโs very relaxing to sit outside with the natural light and fresh air.
Most unusual probably kidโs baseball or basketball games, sitting along sidelines ๐ yeah I got a few funny looks over the years but the occasional question of interest!
I love to stitch on the lanai. But not today it is over 100F.
Not so out of the ordinary but I love to stitch in my patio outside.
I love to stitch poolside under an umbrella.
When I do my cross stitch Iโm usually in the living room on my recliner with my dog laying tight aside of my leg.
I love to stitch in my bedroom. I can watch TV, have my computer for email and such, and a comfortable chair.
I drive myself over to the park and sit in the car under a shade tree . Open the windows, listen to nature and cross stitch.
Love to stitch on my swing in the front yard. Listening to the birds and soaking up the sunshine
I like to stitch on backporch in a rocking chair I can stitch anyware love it
My favorite place to stitch is near a lake, just taking in nature and relaxing while doing handwork.
Outside my back garage door under the tree
I have an egg chair on a screened in porch thatโs my favorite place to stitch, read, whatever!
I haven’t cross stitched for awhile, in fact I have a few UFO projects that need finished. I love to count cross stitch! It’s fun outside on the swing when it’s warm, or by fireplace when cold. It’s so mobile, it can be done anywhere! Your videos have inspired me to pick it up again, thank you! Love watching you. blessings
I started cross stitching again after many years due to you Pat! I stitch in our RV.
I love to stitch outside by the pool or lake and also in the car (as long as the roads are pretty smooth). Love the natural outdoor light!
I love to stitch listening to sermon podcast and truth be told I would probably find it restful in church as well. I havent tried it in my soaker tub yet but that would be fun to as long as i dont drop anything. Lol
I love to stitch in my upstairs hallway. Bright natural light in a quiet, large, sitting and sewing area.
I tend to take my cross stitch when Iโm flying somewhere! I can work on it at the airport, on the plane, and at the hotel. I can listen to an audio book at the same time, and even if Iโm delayed or just have extra time, Iโm not bored!
My favorite place is by a waterfall in the mountains.. my husband and I enjoy packing our lunch and driving to the mountains around our area. it gets us out of the house. he reads his book and I cross stitch. The sound of running water is so calming.
I like to stitch outside, love hearing the birds sing! Also, I stitch on long car trips!
Thanks Pat for the give away!
When I on a break at work. Great place to relax and work on hand projects
Unfortunately I’ve been stitching in a lot of waiting rooms as I have older family that are having some medical issues. I prefer to stitch outside on my covered swing in my backyard admiring my garden and watching my kids play.
I stitch in the car while my husband is fishing his favorite pond. I was thinking maybe bring it along while we go kayaking. He will be fishing. I will be going around the lake a couple times and then get bored. Then cross stitch then. Thank you for all you do for us quilters. โค๏ธ
In my porch swing my husband built by the creek, it is so peaceful and can transport me anywhere I want to go. We live on 5 acres in Alabama cover with oak and pecan trees.
