*** Featured Aurifil Collection ***
Each month the Aurifl color Builder box is named the town of Sicily. Each designer is creating a block based on something about this thread collection. The Aurifil blocks are exciting and unique. At the end of the year I create a layout.
I make the blocks in totally different fabrics, and have some tips each month for you on construction, let's continue!

*** My block & background***
I'm back to sewing my own blocks, yeah!
Background
- Fabric 1 – cut 2 squares 6.5" x 6.5"
- Fabric 2 – Cut 2 squares 6.5" x 6.5"
- Fabric 3 corners – 4 squares 2.5" x 2.5"
- Sew the 6.5" squares into a 4patch like my photo
- Place a 2.5" square on the corner, right sides together
- Sew corner to corner
- Flip open, trim background
- Repeat for the other 3 corners.
I fused this down with the new Aqua blue mini Oliso iron, so sweet! You can preorder these
PRE-ORDER a Mini Iron https://www.oliso.com?aff=patsloan in the new colors, the other is purple!
*** Picking Thread ***
- I'm making a more green applique and want the thread to show
- Placing a single strand over the applique fabric I can see the one is a good match, and the other gives some contrast. I used the one with contrast.

Each month the Interview, download & Challenge Block entry are done at the Aurifil Website.

The lemon pattern looks delicious! I love the texture impact and how the various background elements blend in with the centrepiece seamlessly. The green and lighter shades match beautifully with the colour of the lemon. Fusing with the iron sounds like something doable, you should put a video on how you did it too.
Any suggestions on checking size of applique? My template looks larger. Example 2 of my slices fit in one quarter of block. Is that right? Maybe my printer not set right. Thanks.
do you need to add fusible webbing to the background block or just the lemon slices?
I’m loving the embroidery for this month! Lemons!!!! So adorble! I had the Best Strawberry Lemonade last night with Real strawberries. Mouth watering!
