I seem to have found ANOTHER set of 9 patch blocks already made… 21 to be exact.

In ice blue batiks, with a stack of fabric… they are so perfect for winter!

What would you pair it with?

  1. navy points and ice blue background?
  2. white points and ice blue background so it’s all very very soft?
  3. navy points and white background so i use all the ice blue in the center & sashing?

Decisions.. Decisions….

  1. DEna I use a little sewing machine apron to keep my little rulers, seam ripper, fabric markers, etc. I love these Little Wishes star blocks. I’ll attempt to post a picture somehow.

  2. I love looking at all the Little Wishes posts on here. I really like this pattern and have made my third one now. I still have scraps to use and probably will make more. It is so easy. Thanks so much Pat, for this Scrap Happy little pattern.

  3. I did this last time with white star points, this time I am doing the black polka dots. Love Pat’s large dots, but I only have smaller ones .. still pretty!

  4. Great way to use up scraps, I’ll have to dig out my scraps and start cutting. Can’t wait! Thank you Pat for the inspiration.

  5. Great idea to start with 9 patches. I have quite a few 2 1/2″ squares that are orphans right now. I’ll pull some out & sew a few blocks.

  6. I’m going to add to my projects to complete this year. It is darling and I am particularly drawn to #66 and #64. This project will be ideal to work on when you have little time or a break from another project. Moved my quilting to the basement and still do not feel organized. As I continue to sort everything out I know I’ll come across more fabric.

  7. I think I’d like to do this along with finishing other quilts this year. I could use my scraps as I go along, and not have to “store” another box of scraps.

  8. Yes you’ve talked me into it! I am going to do this. I need a baby quilt. So I may only need a few blocks. Today’s the day! I keep running across blue fabric I bought to make a quilt for the little tike.

  9. I believe I will start working on the scrappy star quilt. I have way too much material that is to good to pitch and this project is perfect. I wonder how many lap size quilts I could make. I even have a basket full of Christmas scrap fabric just waiting there turn. Thanks

  10. Lucky! And yes I have started digging. I was going to ask you how well your die worked. The Fabi 4 square 2 1/2”? I’m getting ready to use mine. I’ve loved this pattern when it first came out and I couldn’t wait to get scraps. Now I have tons of them. Thanks for a cute pattern.

  11. How ’bout ice blue points and a navy background – soft stars against a winternight “sky”? Oh… Not enough navy?

  12. Love it, have made 30 and joined them together for the top, no borders yet but I don’t know how to download photos to your site

  13. I have 35 centers ready to go just need to put the star borders on the blocks!! What a great way to use up some scraps!!

  14. What about light blue points with a navy background…would look like snowflakes…or stars at night! Love the batiks!!! Now I want to do this too!!!

  15. I have 30+ blocks made using red, white and blue. I started it last challenge and hope to finish it soon. It will be for my grandson who will begin his 2nd deployment at the end of February.

  16. I am so impressed with the creativity of the quilts already posted. It has shown me all the possibilities there are when making a quilt, and how fabric and placement play such an important part in the overall design. My mind has officially been blown!

  17. Dark navy points and white background for sure– light points don’t show up well. I’ve done 20 very scrappy blocks this week and am now ready to put them together.

  18. I think – like your dotty fabric on your scrappy stars – the Navy points & white background will showcase all the light blues in the center… what a nice little surprise you had tucked away!!

  19. So many beautiful color combinations. Amazing what each person comes up with. I have scraps so I might just jump in and make one too. Thank you for all the inspiration and ideas you give us.

  20. Oh my, how beautiful can you get!!! These blocks are all so wonderful. But pick just one– I would have to pick #73 Evening Star Flimsy— It is so beautiful!!! Ladies, you all did a wonderful job, on each and every block!! Love them all!!!
