  1. I live in Hawaii…and love pineapples. My husband and I met at the Dole Pineapple Cannery as teenagers working during summer vacation. Back then most kids worked in the canneries or fields. Not any more. Pineapples have a special meaning to us!

  2. I’m definitely ready for some “Pineapple Love”!!! My dad used to fly missions with his Rosecrans Air National Guard unit that had them stopping in Hawaii almost every overseas assignment. As the load master, Dad was in charge of getting cases and cases of fresh pineapples on the plane coming home so every guard family could enjoy fresh off the plantation pineapples! Truly brings back great memories!!!

  3. Yes. I love pineapples from the TV series psych. My kids and I watched it when we lived in the USA for three years and now pineapples have a special significance in my family. Everyone gets one pineapple gift every birthday and Christmas (might be socks or underwear but something).

  4. We were stationed in Hawaii for three years and I would love to retire there. Been working on getting my husband to agree. I guess I should want to make a sew-along too.

  5. I would be interested in making a pineapple quilt through a sew-along! I like that design!
I also enjoy the Let’s Go Camping block of the month, but I need something else. It seems like a long time in between.

  6. I too was stationed in Hawaii, lived in Miliani Town and Aiea before returning to mainland…you are SO right, pineapple tastes so much better there due to being able to get it fresh and ripened. I used to go to the stores and buy more than one pineapple at a time and the locals would always look at me and say “You new here?”

  7. I am working on so many quilts at the same time right now BUT there is always room for pineapple, always room for a pineapple quilt and always room for something yellow. Yummy! A pineapple quilt along would be great!

  8. Sew-along would be so much fun. Being in a sew-along keeps me on track. This pineapple quilt would give me such joy while I cope with the very dark rainy days on the west coast.

  9. A pineapple sew along is a great idea! It’s a happy block and brings back memories of our Hawaii visit many years ago. Thank you!

  10. Jackie is a member of our local quilt guild and works in my town. I haven’t gotten to take a class from her yet but the girls who did said she is an awesome teacher. A pineapple sew a long would be great!

  11. I LOVE this so much Pat. We were stationed in Hawaii for 4 years and we are considering our retirement there. We left many local friends behind when were were moved back to the mainland. My love of everything Hawaii is unending. Pineapple is a particular favorite. Pineapple doesn’t taste as good anywhere as it does in Hawaii. We lived 5 minutes from the Dole Plantation. Such a treat!!
I think a Pineapple sew along is a great idea 🙂
