I hope this is the correct spot to answer the question for your Cross Stitch University contest.
The latest thing I have learned is Kimberly Jolly showing us how to start with the loop method so our back of the cross stitch is neat and tidy. I have received many compliments on my backs; even though I’ve just started to cross stitch this year.
What crafter doesn’t love to quilt and cross stitch. I started crafting sewing clothes and would take my cross stitch stuff with me to have a hand project to keep my hands busy. During the pandemic I got back into cross stitching when I needed something to keep my hands busy. If I won the cross stitch, I would hang it in my sewing room to remind that it is ok to relax and create.
I love watching your videos. I have been quilting for years and thought I knew everything I needed to know. I have learned so many quick tricks to make my quilting experience enjoyable and more accurate.
I love to cross stitch. My mother showed me how with a Prairie Schooler Santa. They came on a little card. That’s all it took, I was hooked. I bought ever year of the Santa’s cards, and looking to find more of the years I missed. Just wanted to tell you I watch you every day, can’t wait for the next days video. Thank you. Patty Mayhew
I have been following you for sometime now . I believe you have given me great motivation to quilt,at the age of 70. I am also a beginner at cross stitch. This would be a wonderful place to learn . You are an inspirational person. Keep on with all your help and easy explanations for the untrained beginner.
Thanks heaps. Colleen.
I have not crossed stitched in years I would love to get back into doing that. Your awesome Pat. Love watching you.
In reference to your question about what looks best around your Halloween quilt (You Tube 8/23), either the black fabric you used in two of the bat blocks, or the half-square blocks from your UFO have the most impact.
The last quilt I did was for my 5 year old grandson’s birthday. He loves Monster Trucks. I got a panel and made him a quilt for his bed. He was so excited. I would love the Liberty Box. Could you unfold the box and send it as well. Have a blessed day.
It is the wavy stitch found on a good number of machines.
Spent several years doing cross stitch but moved into quilting and now I find I have time to do both. Love the small projects you can actually finish quickly. Watch ur videos daily. Love them n have learned lots of new tips💕.
Oh Pat, you need a little flag on June 14th — Flag Day ❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸

My favorite baby quilt is made of flannel, pattern & color dependent on how much time I have, 😁.
I always seem to need a baby quilt in a hurry because I let too many things get in the way of my sewing. So I am so thankful for panels that I can add some borders to to make it look more personal for the baby. I might even quilt the baby’s name in that border.
My favorite baby quilt is to make a unique quilt for the baby. Usually a disappearing 9 patch, but have done a 4 patch alternating with a solid and added applique!
My favorite baby quilt blocks are snowballs and pinwheels.
My favorite baby quilt is called “fat quarter four crib quilt” by the Teacher’s Pet. It is so easy and can look so different just by changing your fabrics. I live in a small ranching community in Montana and love to use little cowboy and cowgirl fabrics. So fun to see the new mom’s faces when they open their gifts at a baby shower!
I am making my 1st baby quilt, using an older panal I bought on line. There are 4 oanels; cat, goose, bunny, lamb. I made 5 log cabin blocks with matching colors. The backing will be minky.
The quilt is for my granddaughter who turns 1 on April 9th.
It will be my first time meeting her.
I make ones with animal themes most often
I love pinwheels for baby quilts. I also like to applique circles of different sizes.
My favorite crib quilt to make is a flannel Rag Quilt. I made a number of these now for nieces and nephews and they are always favorites.
My favorite baby quilt to make, I love to machine embroider so I make it personal with designs like Winnie the Pooh and pretty colors, I did an embroidered elephant for another baby in bright primary colors. I like to make them extra special also with their names on each one.
I rarely make 2 quilts of the same pattern, but the 3 D pinwheel block is a great block for a baby quilt, in bright colors, it has an extra dimension with the folded corners.
My favorite baby quilt is all of them I make my baby quilts at least Twin size or bigger so they can be used for years and that way the kids can have them as they grow. Just want to thank you for all your help and sew alongs. Several of those quilts have been made and given to babies.
I love to make all kinds of baby quilts! One of my favorites starts with a panel, then is surrounded by half square triangles, pin wheels, four patches or tumbling blocks. I usually back with Minkie so they’re sure to like it!
My favorite baby quilts to make our ones that I can personalize to each individual baby. I made two this past year using Elizabeth Hartman patterns. For each one i used fabric from each of the mothers baby clothes. So cute!
My favorite pattern for baby quilts is the Disappearing Nine Patch. I make them out of flannel and back them with flannel and they are so soft!
My favorite baby quilt pattern is the disappearing nine patch quilt and the dove in the window pattern.
My favorite baby quilts to make are cute cartoon animals. As the baby grows older they can learn the animal names. 🐶🐱🐭🐷🐰🐤
I’m just getting into baby quilts using the book Charming Baby Quilts. So far I’ve made two for a friend’s grandchildren to use at her house. I ordered a layer cake to make my cousin’s daughter quilts for her twins due this summer. It is fun to use the cute, themed fabrics.
“Simple Charm”, silly old fingers…
My favorite baby quilt is a smile harm square 6×7, sewn together with a border. I love backing it with flannel. My favorite quilting pattern for my long arm is Animal Crackers. It is a pantograph that is easy to do and really looks good on the quilts.
My favorite baby quilt is a self binding 36×36 quilt, I use flannel for front and cuddle on the back
It is a wavy stitch that a lot of machines have. I feel confident in saying this because I first got in the habit of using this stitch on my 1969 Viking. I am pretty sure you can use your walking foot with this one.
When I make baby quilts, it seems to depend on the Mom and new baby, and what I know about the family. I made my first quilt ever for a young friend’s first baby. She had gone to college in Wyoming, and was enamored with the cowboys and cowboy ways. I had picked up a fabric that showed little cartoon cowboys and girls at rodeo with a fat little pony. I fussy cut the figures and made a sort of attic window quilt. Every single baby blanket I’ve made since is completely different! I’ve loved them all!
I’m expecting my first grand baby in October!! I hope to make several quilts of different sizes – crib size, lap, throw, etc so they will “grow” with the baby. We haven’t found out the gender yet, so I’m going to start out with neutral colors or maybe a mix of pastels in blue, pink, green, yellow. I’m so excited to get started! I think I’m even more excited about this first grandchild than I was to find out I was expecting my baby girl. LOL
I like making a slightly bigger than crib or lap size, so the new mommy can snuggle as well, while holding her babe. Also I am big on scrappy Quilts and mixing fabric patterns and prints you wouldn’t normally put together in the same Quilt. I have successfully quilted for 6 years by using other folks scraps, What Fun!!!
My favorite baby quilts were made with clothing and pieces of well-loved blankets my son and daughter wore and used as toddlers and in early childhood. I made them each one and have them tucked away to give them when they have children.
Pat, my favorite baby quilt is a mix of piecing and applique. The piecing adds the color and design while the applique adds texture for little hands.
My favorite baby quilt uses embroidered Nursery Rhyme designs with pastel sashing.
I love to make stars and pinwheels for babies and usually make them at least lap size
I make lap quilts for babies to grow up with. Rather than crib size. As for pattern 🤔 it all depend on each baby. They quilts are all different.
Here is my attempt of the application of home is:
I decided several weeks ago that I needed to use up the batting I trim from my quilts. I found a block on the internet that used pieces that were 3 1/2 x 7 1/2″. So I decided that I would make that block but use the Quilt As You Go method. I cut all my batting into this size pieces and then put them together with the QAYG method and then squared them up at 10 1/2″. I really like the quilt. I with I could send a picture, but I am not that tech savvy.

Amazing give-away! So generous of you! You are my nightly routine. Lights out and I turn on Pat on my tablet and use my ear buds. Puts a smile on my face as I listen and watch. You helped so many of us get through this pandemic a little easier!Thank you!
On choosing the next lotion I will vote for the Yoga sunrise! Personally I have gone to unscented lotions.
I am trying cross stitch for the first time because of you. I always thought it was difficult. You have me confidence to try. I also got pasta things for my kitchenaid mixer for Christmas so I got my grand daughter here to help and we made spaghetti and spinach ravioli. It turned out amazingly good. Yeah no more store bought pasta. Thanks to you and your videos I’m learning so much. Thanks from Arkansas and much love, Ula Rowe.
I have recently tried free motion thread stitching and loved the results, a new technique for me.
I hope I am in the right place because this giveaway is AMAZING. Lately I have taken on some simple appliqué to prepare for my HOME is blocks. I love the puppy!
When you refer to a “wavy” quilting design is it free motion or just the walking foot. Sorry I missed the segment when you showed how to do it. Pretty please let me know. I’m trying to quilt a bargello quilt and tried using the walking foot but none of my lines are the same! Help?
