There are so many blessings to be thankful for in 2024. Having more time to spend with family especially my granddaughter after retirement was the highlight of my year. And of course more sewing time! Thanks for all you do to keep us quilters inspired!

  1. The best thing I remember about 2024 is I have a wonderful family! I have a supportive spouse (even though I buy too much fabric), 2 healthy fur babies who keep me on my toes, a loving daughter who came home for christmas! I am blessed with all of my family! This was a small example. Oh and I helped my mom drive to florida so she could be a snow bird and avoid winter and I got to ring in 2025 on the beach! So blessed!

  2. I had a wonderful year health wise. In 2023 I had to have both hips replaced. In 2024. I was able to hike, golf and so much more pain free. It was a wonderful year

  3. In 2024 one daughter became a foster parent to my newest granddaughter. Another daughter gave birth to a precious girl.

  4. Hi Pat! 2024 was so good to me. I accomplished so much in my quilting journey. The best part was my husband bought me a longarm for my birthday. It’s an old one but it’s exactly at my skill level. Excited to see what I can accomplish in 2025!

  5. Best thing for 2024 was watching Pat’s videos. Recovering from Glandular Fever and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome it was so great to be entertained and forget my troubles. Even watched some from 17 years ago. Motivated for more quilting in 2025. Thank you Pat 💖

  6. 2024 was a wonderful year and we welcomed our fifth grandchild, a little girl! I enjoyed the Block Wednesday sew along, Ode to the National Parks and many other ideas and inspirations your videos always provide. Thank you for sharing with us all of your knowledge! I am in love with the fabric collection Dainty Meadow used in the Flower Shop quilt!

  7. In 2024, I was able to complete 6 child size quilts and several mini quilts for wall hangings and table toppers to practice straight line quilting. It was a fun year of quilting!

  8. 2024 was a year of changes for our family! We moved back into our house while still remodeling from tornado damage that happened in spring of 2023. We were “glamping” inside own house, washing dishes in the laundry room & cooking on a camp stove for most of the year, etc. Then by Mother’s Day, my husband & our family was asked to pastor a church 12 hours away. The first couple months, we traveled to be at the church every weekend then came back to work 3 days on the house to get it ready to sell. We now call our house our “vacation home” & come back every other or third week to work for 3 days at a time on the house. We have slowly been moving our things 4 states away. I used to cake decorate but I had always wanted to quilt like my mom & granny so i decided I needed an outlet during the move so I wouldn’t miss home & family quite as much. I have set up my “quilting studio” in the old church (it’s used for storage mostly)& finished my first quilt top! It’s a maple leaf pattern in a large throw size that I made up. It looks like leaves falling down into a heap on the ground. I named it “to everything there is a season”, after the Bible verses in Ecclesiastes. I still have to decide whether I’m going to try hand quilting or machine quilt it on my domestic sewing machine. ☺️♥️I’m hooked on quilting!!! I also started foundation paper piecing & have so many quilts now on my bucket list!! I love the flower shop quilt!!!

  9. Nothing stands out as the number one thing for last year. However I’m just so happy to wake up every day and be able to do whatever I feel like since I’m retired. Thank you.

  10. The best thing about 2024 was I finally fell into my quilting groove after 2 years of retirement. I’m learning to FMQ on my new to me sit down longarm and I finding projects I enjoy sewing. I start my morning off with a cup of coffee and watching your daily videos. I applaud you for now taking time for yourself and enjoying your life.

  11. The best thing about 2024 was finding out we have our first grandbaby on the way! That means that there will be many baby quilts made in 2025.

  12. Something wonderful that I want to remember about 2024 is that I unexpectedly received my late grandma’s treadle sewing machine!

  13. I was grateful to have finished and delivered my grandson’s quilt on Christmas Eve. He had asked for a specific theme and I put it together using your pattern – Liberty Hill. It came out beautifully and the look on his face when I handed it to him was precious!

  14. In 2024 we sold our house and started building our retirement home. So we moved in with our daughter while all this was happening. This meant I really couldn’t do much quilting. I did happen to finish a couple quilt tops. I’m really hopeful 2025 will be my year to get some quilts done.

  15. Many wonderful things in 2024-Christmas with family after a few years with illnesses preventing gatherings. Increased participation with a local crafting group, went to retreats — great diversion from work and good to make new friends and grow closer with local acquaintances. Love that flower shop quilt too.

  16. Our family was blessed with good health and a profitable harvest despite the challenging weather we experienced in 2024. Our eighth grandchild arrived and brought big smiles to all! I finished quilts! Yay!

  17. Happy New Year everyone. I managed a big organization of my sewing room in 2024 and it feels wonderful! It’s always great to start the New Year with enthusiasm and motivation! Thank you Pat Sloan for this sewing community.

  18. The best part of 2024 was hanging with my quilt group. What an inspiring, loving, supportive group of Ladies! I am truly blessed!

  19. The best thing was getting together with my family at least once a month throughout the year. Love your video!

  20. In 2024 I bought a long arm!! Now I just have to learn to use it! I hav 5 quilt tops finished so I need to get playing with it💃💃

  21. The greatest thing about 2024 for me was an amazing trip to Alaska with the husband. We lived in Fairbanks 40 years ago and going back to our beginnings was just sweet. We saw beautiful mountains, wildlife and made some new friends. My parents met up with us for a cruise and we just loved our time together. We hadn’t had a vacation since 2018 so this was definitely a special time.

  22. Christmas, Christmas, Christmas! It was wonderful to travel to California to visit with my family. We had so much fun singing and playing Singbingo! Wonderful dinner made by my son at his home. We hope to have many many good times ahead.

  23. Hi, I,m Teresa. I enjoy you energy and love for quilting! My most favorite thing about 2024 has been spending more time with family, friends and quilting! A cancer diagnosis has kept me from working but blessed me with some quality time for some of the things/people I love most, Happy blessed New Year to you!

  24. Love , love the Tom spent with my grandchildren and the rest of my family. We lost our mother in December, had a life celebration for her that was really nice.

  25. Love the flower shop quilt. Heather Briggs is quickly becoming one of my favorite fabric designers. TYSM for offering one of your followers this great opportunity!

  26. My most memorable quilt project this last year (2024) was when my youngest granddaughter told me she was getting married. I knew I had to make her a wedding quilt for I had made her cousin one. I try to do equal for them. I made her a log cabin quilt in a king size. Boy was I sweating the time when I took it to the long armer and she said six weeks but she came through for me and the quilt was a hit. Enjoy your show so much start my morning with you

  27. Thanks for encouraging each of us to quilt by sharing beautiful quilted items, beautiful fabric, how-to information, and products to help in our success. You have built a beautiful community of quilters to inspire and cheer one another on! The Sloan Zone is truly a positive environment. Thank you Pat Sloan!

  28. One wonderful thing about 2024 were several gatherings of family, some extended from far away that we haven’t seen in years. But I have to include nearly daily “Portal” chats with my daughter and grandson who turned 1 in 2024. Although he lives far away, he knows me!!!

  29. The best thing about 2024 was the birth of our first great grandchild, Oaklee Ann. She had a rough start, but everything is okay now, thankfully!
I love the Flower Shop Quilt! It’s going to be a great productive year in 2025. Thank you Pat for all your videos and letting us into your quilting life. 🤗

  30. A very good thing for me in 2024 was my daughter and son in law told us they were pregnant with a little girl, after having two sweet little boys.
    Love watching your videos, Pat.

  31. The best thing about 2025 is my great grand and the fact I get to take care of her everyday. I quilt while she sleeps and after her mom gets home from work so I get to do everything I love. Life is sweet

  32. My 2024 quilt journey allowed me to finish about 20 quilt tops. I have many sitting waiting to be quilted. My 2025 goal is to finish all of my 2024 starts.

  33. Best thing about 2024 was seeing my granddaughter get interested in quilting and to begin to teach her how to quilt which will continue this year.

  34. I sent one of my quilts to a longarmer for the very first time in 2024. What a treat! I can’t afford to do that for every quilt I make, but I will send the special ones. It gives me such pleasure to just sit and admire the beautiful quilting. Meanwhile, my fmq is getting better with each try, so there is pleasure in that as well.

  35. My husband and I went on an 8-week trip in our travel trailer to Yellowstone, Grand Tetons, Mt Rushmore and the Utah parks. That was definitely the highlight of 2024.

  36. Many good thing did happen in 2024! Sometimes I forget to look for the good! I did get many items made in 2024! I made some Stockings, Hanging Bags, Key Fobs and Tissue Covers for Christmas gifts! I finished a couple of tops I had been working on they will get quilted this year. My long arm quilter friend, fell and broke her leg in October so she is still in recovery mode! I hung out with the Grandkids, always wish for more of that! I did get to go to Quilt Camp twice last year and a vacation with my Husband to Charleston, SC! Then again to Branson for a weekend! We enjoyed ourselves a lot, seen many things in both places. All in All 2024 was a great year!

  37. Something wonderful about my 2024 was having the opportunity to attend the 49th Sisters Outdoor Quilt show with my mom. She lives nearby and has been attending every year since the 7th show. I was able to take a class with Sarah Fielke and learned a lot about hand applique and Australia. But most importantly, I spend time with my mom playing bingo and looking at all the wonderful quilts on display.

  38. I joined a quilt guild. I’m loving it. It is so nice to meet people with the same interests. Love seeing everyone’s quilts. Hope everyone has a great 2025.

  39. Hi Pat! 2024 was a busy year. I’m in IT and launched a new website for our customer on January 12, 2024. My team and I worked endlessly over the holidays prior to the release. Though there were many hurdles after the release – BUGS – the web application is working well. It was stable within 6 months. Whew! I was unable to do a lot of quilting at the time but was able to pickup more sewing around the holidays. Happy camper!

  40. I am so grateful for the support of my family and friends during 2024. I managed to break my hip but the wonderful thing is the love and support I received during my recovery!

  41. In 2024, my sister Mary and I went on the All Texas Shop Hop. We didn’t get very far, but had a wonderful time, ending in an bang!

  42. 2024 I actually finished 3 quilts, gave 2 away as Christmas gifts to family members. I also worked with my grand daughter teaching her to sew pillow cases for Christmas gifts. 2024 was also a great year sewing with our local quilting group.
