This is my Cobble Stone block for my Solstice quilt. I am really smitten with how this block can look in multiples

  • Side by side Block #4 which is perfect for busting some 2.5″ strips. I give you the layout out that turns every other block so that they alternate directions.
  • The Zig Zag VARIATION layout requires you to create 4 different blocks to make the zig zag across your quilt. DOWNLOAD below under the diagram

  1. Thank you so much for this “Challenge” Pat. It was definitely a challenge sorting & then cutting all of my scraps, BUT so worth it. I think this has to be my favorite quilt out of all the quilts I have done 🙂 and it is MINE (LOL). I put a dent in my scraps and with the other challenges you are creating for us, I will have the scraps down to a manageable amount by the time Summer Solstice arrives!!! 🙂

  2. Thank-you for all that you do for us Pat. Some of the blocks have gone into a Xmas quilt I am making and I’m really liking the results.

  3. Thanks for giving new ideas and challenges. Lots of fabric, but brain is not functioning well until I get these scans done to find where the cancer is

  4. A ver si me curo… Fuí ayer al médico y me dijo que esto va para largo. Estar en cama y ver estos fabulosos bloques y no poder coser me desespera. Paciencia. Saludos.

  5. Thank you so much Pat for this on line project. I have never done anything like this and I am really enjoying it a lot. I went to my stash and am able to make the blocks in between all my other projects…lol I also love everyone posting what their blocks look like. Great experience!! Joy

  6. Thank you for showing the ZigZag layout version. I couldn’t
see that just looking at the blocks but you have such a good eye!! Enjoying stitching along.

  7. Loving the winter solstice pattern!!! And love seeing what everyone else is doing. The differences in fabrics and colors makes me want to do another quilt! This has been so fun. Thank you for so generously sharing with us. Hugs from Texas

  8. Pat, thank you so much for these lovely quilt blocks! I’m having a blast sewing something bigger for a change. I love the Cobble Stone pattern so much and appreciate you giving us the variation of the block. I will more than likely use that for a quilt top. You are an amazing designer! I’m so happy to have found your site as I’ve grown so much doing the Splendid Sampler, a little burned out with it now, but I’m sure the bug will get me again to complete all of the blocks. Thank you again so much for your willingness to share your talent with us!

  9. So is just the top good for the scrap challenge cause I have a quilt show coming up and I’m busy busy busy. But I would love to get rid of scraps!!!

  10. Thank you so much for your generosity in sharing the Winter Solsticel patterns and now a beautiful way to piece block 4. I do so appreciate it.
    Sincerely,
    Rose Rodzos
