I some how missed ‘The Elf on the Shelf’.. maybe because I don’t have children. But my grandma had that elf.  And my great grandma had porcelain Christmas elves that I loved.

So what does one do? learn about it!

The story is fabulous and if I were a little kid waiting for Santa now, I’d definitely LOVE the elf!

There is the basic book + Elf

But you can get them with Outfits!!! How darling is that? I would have LOVED that!

BUY a ELF on the Shelf, I think I’m getting one!

  • SHARE your quilt block at the END!
  • In each pattern I have a memory or story of my own. When You share your block at my Facebook group, or when you leave me a comment after posting your block, share YOUR memory with me!

  1. I knew I would not be able to get this done for this Christmas but look out February when I am able to get started on it.Thank you so much for the pattern Pat. I also have ordered the Elf and book for a friends little boy.

  2. We had the elf when I was little, but I believe it came with a little sample box of Whitman’s chocolates…the cardboard box that had 4 candies in it. I still have him, his leg is about off because the fabric is deteriorating, but he’s still cute! I have a little sleigh he sits in and waits for Santa! hahaha
I have enjoyed this QAL and though I’m a bit behind, I’m trying to get caught up so we can use it this winter!!! Thank you for another wonderful QAL!!!

  3. My family had the elf when we were kids but it certainly was not as entertaining as it is now. Check on Pinterest to see some of the crazy things that elf does for attention.

  4. My Granddaughter has had the Elf on a Shelf for several years & as his “coming back to Bella’s house” gift, I made her a little quilt for him to bring back. She was thrilled that her “elf” had her very own quilt!

  5. It’s really hard to believe that there are only three more blocks after this one! Time flies. I am so glad that I kept up. This is the best Christmas quilt ever! Thanks Pat for ALL you do for us.

  6. Thanks Pat. I have really enjoyed this sew along. P.S…..my granddaughter loves her elf on the shelf, it marks the beginning of the holiday season for her when he shows up. :0) Happy Sewing

  7. Taking me a bit to get started–too many projects but lining up my fabric and dying to start this!!! Pat this is the best Holiday quilt ever!!! Thank you!!!
