I was puttering around and a summertime memory came to me.. it’s always fun when that happens!

Block #19 of 20 is ‘BBQs & Sun Tea!’.

Do you make Sun Tea? I share in the pattern my fun Sun tea Memories!! And it got me to thinking.. can I get a Sun Tea jar anymore?

Why yes I can, right here!!

My original one was made in the early 80s so there was no spout. I like that option, makes it easier!

There are a TON of options HERE.. so fun.. maybe I need a new one?

I’ve had so much fun doing this block! It’s super easy and that is what my Wednesday sew along is.. just a fun way to sew together each week and be able to keep up!

mmm.. do you notice something? My quilt row is assembled … and I’m standing in front of block 20 .. clever eh?

Next week is block 20 then the week after is a border. I’m not sure I’ll have my border on as my Splendid Sampler project  is starting and I might not get it done until after I’m back from my last trip.

  1. This is my first quilt along and I have to say I have enjoyed it very much. I used scraps that were laying around and had fun trying to see what went together. When done I’ll have to have all you people critique and give me some guidance as to what I could have done better. Great fun and I hope to do another.

  2. Yes, I noticed–you are tricky! I used to make sun tea but haven’t for a long time. Maybe I need to investigate a new jar as well! Love the block. Thanks for the QAL.

  3. Now if we can just get some warm, sunny days to make some yummy sun tea. We do have some sunny days in the forecast (Pacific NW) so guess I need to buy a new car as well. I had one exactly like the one you picture, but alas the square sides are NOT conducive to stirring with anything. The side broke out of it the first time I stirred my lemonade. Need to find a completely ROUND one! Square ones might look goid, but so impractical.

  4. Hola Pat Sloan! Saludos.

  5. I also made sun tea in the summer. I’m excited to finish this quilt. It’s been a fun project. I hope the border is on the plain side. I have a “busy” quilt. I’m looking forward to Splendid Sampler Two. I loved SS1. Thank you so much.

  6. Yes I noticed you had your top completed and you were hiding #20!!!! Sneaky girl! I’ve LOVED this sew along!!! I’ve been going through photos from our Adventure Wednesdays (funny how the quilt a long is also on Wednesday!) and have enjoyed the memories!!! I’m excited to see the quilts done, so many beautiful blocks being posted!!!

  7. Pat,
Thank you so much for this fun sew-along. I have really liked all of the blocks, and I look forward to a new one each week.
Do you have plans for another sew-along when this one is finished?
    Sharon
