Last block for In the Summer Time! I will have a border option next week, which I’m still sewing on…. wheeee!!!!
Block #20 of 20 is ‘Build Sandcastles!’.
There are SO MANY Summer memories I could pull from but decided to go way back in time to celebrate my Great Aunt June, who I loved dearly!

All the blocks in this sew along have a diagram for using the block in repeat. Sometimes with the frame, or like this one, without the frame and just the block. I think this will make an amazing scrap buster quilt!
My ‘ultimate goal’ is to make a quilt from each of these.. I wonder if that would be a cool scrap busting challenge? Work through some of them?
What do you think about that? I assign a blog and then we sew scraps up. Leave me a comment below
Next week is the border pattern. With travel and the start of my Splendid Sampler project I’m working to get it on, but I may only have one side until I’m back from the trip.

- Download Pat Sloan Block 20 directions In the Summer Time
- OOPS!!!!! IF YOU DOWNLOADED PRIOR to 9pm EST 6/23, here are the fixes
- —- Block Medium fabric – Cut 4 squares 4” x 4”
- —–Block Dark fabric – Cut 4 rectangles 2.5” x 4”
- I’M SO SORRY about that!!! I hope you forgive me

I want to be sure everyone has a chance to own these great irons! If you have been waiting on the pink one, it’s back in stock!
I did a video and article about it HERE
The color differences are
- Yellow & Pink are IDENTICAL except color
- Blue is less expensive, so the 20% off is fantastic. It has these differences
- 8’6″ cord instead of 12′
- Stainless Steal soleplate instead of Chomium soleplate
- 8 min auto shut off instead of 30 min with the pink & yellow

Just found this and love it, so I have downloaded all the blocks. Thank you for sharing your wonderful talent, am now looking forward to the Christmas mystery.
Hey Pat,
Your summer quilt along quilt is gorgeous! Your quilts are always pretty but this one is so fresh and I just love it!
Becky write me an email at pat@patsloan.com and i’ll look it up
Thank you!
you are so welcome!!
yeah!
Ready to sew! Throwing in a little machine time here and there and I’ll get something made 😉 I like the scrappy quilt idea. All of the blocks with the “stars” or bow tie points are my favorites!
Pat, I love your patterns. When I started quilting a few years ago (I’ve sewn garments forever), I would only look at simple patterns. Everything else, I had decided, was too hard. By having patterns assigned, I never doubt that I can do them and this gets me out of my comfort zone. Your patterns have helped me to grow so much since then. I look back and wonder what I was thinking. Now, I look at patterns and can see the simple shapes that make them.
Thank you!
Just love this site. Pat you are awesome. Thanks for all of the hard work you and your team do.
Pat, could you remember what fabric you used for Grandma’s Kitchen background? I believe it was a shade of Bella? Bleached white?
