Today I celebrate a wonderful summer memory…

Block #17 is ‘Catching Fireflies’ .. Twinkling beatles, also called, lightening bugs are magical in the summer.
One year a tree in our backyard was covered in them for about 30 minutes, it was crazy fun to see!
Do you have fireflies in your area? I understand they may be somewhat regional

A few people asked me about my farmer’s market quilt so I wanted you to be able to get it. My book will also teach you all you need to know about fusible applique!

With all the summer time activities starting up, my bonus project is a fast table runner you can use to showcase 3 blocks.
I am at the point where the color planning is tight, which makes it fun for me. I needed to repeat the gold in this block and went for a heavy amount of it. I also used the bigger floral again. As I do each of the last blocks I’ll see what needs repeated from blocks above.
After the 20th block we’ll have one more week and I’ll share an easy border option. You don’t have to do a border but I am.

Yes i love this block and we call them lightening bugs here on Tennessee! Thanks Pat!!
When we were kids my brother and I and our friends would
Catch lighting bugs and put them in a glass canning jar.
It made a night light!!
Another wonderful block! I can’t believe we are so close to being done! I’m loving how mine are turning out! We didn’t have fireflies in FL, but the first year we moved to KY, WOW. I had them growing up in NJ and I’m so happy my son gets to see them as a child! When I would walk our dog at night he would snap at the fireflies! I had to assure him they were OK and not try to eat them! 😂
If you scroll to the top of this page you will see all the different projects that we have been doing in the past. Grandma’s kitchen, Be my Neighbor, Soltice Challenge, etc. Have fun trying them.
I don’t know where to get patterns to all your pretty blocks that I see posted on Facebook. Is there a club?
