I have a wee teeny tiny little collection of holiday fabrics (insert eyes looking to the heavens…) So I got out the crate.. tub... um.. I mean little box of them … and used a piece of my Santa fabric for the window! I'm going to start looking for darling prints to add in!

We are on Block #4.. below is the download & link to my project page with ALL the blocks

TRUE CONFESSION.. this is 'Try #2' as 'Try #1'  didn't quite make it.. want to see?

When I made this block I didn't think about how using a different fabric at the bottom would create an entirely new look. It makes the house short. I put it on my design wall for awhile and it bugged me.

So I had a date with Jack, Jack the Ripper, and fixed it up! Don't you think it's better on the one above it?

  1. I make mostly lap quilts, table runners. baby quilts but am working on a king size quilt right now. I love the blue fabric and would truly love to win the give away!

  2. Just a beginner, so nothing is completed yet. <3 the blues! Thank you for all of your helpful posts and products, Pat!!

  3. So far small projects, as in baby quilts, is what I have made the most of. I am only on my third project though. lol
I happen to like the house block that you felt like you needed to redo. It looks like grass and flowers around the base of the house.

  4. Ohhh – quilts of all sizes are wonderful, but I especially love, blue and white bed quilts. Blue and white seems to be the colours I come back to time and again when I make two colour quilts. It’s bed quilts all the way for me! 🙂

  5. I make both Baby quilts and lap quilts…but I can’t keep up with with so many babies being added to family blessing by blessing!

  6. I am new at making quilts. What I have done is very basic and baby/kid sized but I am enjoying Grandma’s Kitchen squares very much to learn more than I have done. I appreciate and look forward to a new block on Wednesdays. I have yet to quilt one myself. I haven’t gotten brave enough to give it a try but I am working toward that goal, too. Yes, I love contests. Rarely win but I like to try.

  7. I make a lot of lap size and children’s quilts. I am in a quilt group and we donated over 200 quilts last year to different charities. A few are quilts for kids, our local shelter, and various fundraisers. These are beautiful colors!

  8. I make a lot of small projects, a few bed quilts, and I have no idea what to do with lap quilt sized projects so I don’t make them.

  9. I sew mostly small projects. Just moving up to bigger. I’ve sewn all my life for family, but now I’m retired with no kids I’m hoping I will have time to expand my horizons.

  10. I make some of each but am currently working on mostly bed size with a couple of lap quilts and one table runner. Nine projects in all.

  11. LOL! Yes to all of the above. New and probably bit off more than I can chew. Go big (quilts) or go home! Right?

  12. I am making lap quilts to donate to the Mary Potter Foundation in Adelaide. They give a quilt to each new guest, and the family takes it home when the guest has passed away as a momento. Small 44-48″ square quilts is what they want, and at the moment I’m sorting through my orphan blocks and making quilts out of those. It’s a good size and manageable to quilt on a domestic machine. thanks for the chance to win 🙂

  13. I LOVE to do a bit of everything, but especially bed quilts, when my health allows. Surgery on Monday for recurrent thyroid cancer.

  14. I make all sorts of quilts, from small kits to lap size charity quilts. Even a drool mat for my English Mastiff…next a bed for him! I find I start with a pattern and then go off of my own with it. I have just started the Grandma’s Kitchen blocks and love doing them! They are good practice for a novice like me and the directions have been great.

  15. I make all sorts of things from baby quilts to a king size right now! I make wall hangings, table runners and totes & purses too!

  16. Mostly lap size/ twin sized quilts. Our group does a lot of charity quilts for our women’s shelter. It takes a lot longer to finish my bed sized ones.
PS, the window Santa fabric is so stinkin’ cute!

  17. I also love to make quilts, And I do it without any guilts. My stash fills up two floors, However, I always buy more. You can find me in my sewing room, Where I chase away any thoughts of gloom. Or you can find me with a needle in my hand, My fellow quilters all understand. I love to make quilts!!!!!!!!!!

  18. I always start out thinking it will only be a lap size, yet they almost always grow to be at least a full or queen size. I guess I need to be more firm{or buy less fabric for each project.}

  19. I make lap quilts, bed quilts, when I see a pattern I like, I go for it. Thanks for the giveaway. Love your site but it gets me in trouble buying so much fabric 😉

  20. Pretty houses! I make wall quilts, though I am thinking about making a large quilt for a challenge. My quilts seem to be growing these days. I like small projects, too, for gifts, and for items in our home.
