Block #7.. some of you have been waiting for sledding to appear! It’s time to find the biggest hill after a great snow storm. When you get there what do you see? Lots of Sledding fun! I have an image of a Norman Rockwell painting of families sledding merrily down the hill. Personally I didn’t do much sledding, there were no great hill by us,
but the few times I did it was a blast!
When you share your block tell me a sledding tale, old or new!

*** Block Fabric Tip ***
- I had so much fun fussy cutting the bird, and there is a bee in another block!

*** All together ***
- I've not sewn the middle row yet. That is next
- If you are using scraps, sometimes it's nice to have all the blocks so you can rearrange to get a nice color balance before setting them into rows.

I didn’t sled as a kid living in Texas with no snow. But now that I’m up north, my kids like sledding and I’ve done it with them a few times. They usually get tired of hauling a sled back up hill so it doesn’t last long. 🙂
When I was a teen and young adult I lived in Southern California and there was no snow to sled on. We did however go ice sledding (using big blocks of ice) on tall grassy park hills during the dark in the summer time. it wasn’t really allowed but it was so much fun.
Living on an urban street in Montreal, there were no hills nearby. No sledding. BUT, we built EPIC snow forts on our front lawn.
When my husband & I were dating a group of us went to a golf course he caddied at to go sledding on 1 of their hills. Now the snow had to be deep to sled on a golf course & they usually chased away any neighborhood people. But we went in the dark & I think someone also brought a toboggan. The only obstacle we had to watch for was the stream at the bottom & aim for the bridge that crossed the stream. No one fell in the stream & we all went home tired, cold & ready for food.
Where I lived when I was young, there wasn’t much of a hill to sled down, but I made do and did sled sometimes. Where I live now, our house is on a hill and when my son & daughter were young, I did sled on occasion with them.
I lived on a hill great for skiing and sledding in the winter. Riding a bike up it the rest of year not so much, but I do have strong legs and core.
