When we asked our Mom what a certain item was ie something that she didn’t want us to know “She replied Layhold for Meddlers” You just made me think of that/
P.S. I can’t believe I never used it with my kids.
Whenever we took Mom out to dinner with us and when the plate of
Food would hit the dinner table she would always exclaim out loud, โThat is really a
generous portion.โ To this day we make the same point at our restaurant table and burst
out in laughter. ๐
I have really enjoyed doing this quilt. I really like the way you are setting the blocks. I have waited to make multiple blocks depending on fabric in block they are by.
When my late husband felt frustrated, He would say” I’m tired of fighting city hall”
Home is … block 7 The Attic reminds me of the tiny attic door we had in our house. I was only 4 feet tall. My three girls thought there was a magical place on the other side of it.
Pat, your father in law and my dad must be brothers! I loved what he would say to you, and when my friends came for dinner, and he saw a plate nearly empty, he’s offer seconds. If the person replied, “No thank you,” he’d insist by saying “Oh, sure you do!” So embarrassing for me as a teenager, but now I know it was because he really wanted to share mom’s great cooking. I love that you have us thinking/remembering past favorite phrases even as some of our family has passed on now. BTW, I found your daily post, and the problem is on my end, mostly user error, but not all. Thanks again for everything you do!
My Mother had a saying she would say after having a wonderful meal. She would say she was as full as a little tick. She had a saying for almost everything. She has been gone for 17 years but anytime our family talks to one another, one of the funny sayings she had always seems to surface. Many wonderful memories
Hi Pat, good morning from alabama. when we call someone we always end the conversation with love you, stay safe. this is for any family member, and for anyone else we say stay safe. we have said this all the time not for just covid so “love you and stay safe” this day and many forward
Oh ! How I love pinwheels. They remind Me when I was a kid and We would put the plastic one’s from the store on our bike and they would spin so fast when we would go for a ride!
This block would make a nice quilt using block # 6.
I love these last 2 blocks!! Iโm seeing bed quilts of both of them in my future!! Thank you so much!,
