For this 12″ block I turned every other block. I think this size will make a neat lap quilt or wall hanging to show off your great fabrics!

My Class pick is this one with Marti. She very nicely breaks down all the steps to do Quilt as You go in Units.

It’s exactly how I do it!

BUY THE CLASS, you’ll be happy you did!

  1. Fellow Quilters, it takes time for her to do another page each week when a block comes out. Also that is part of the fun of a mystery type of quilt. We need to try to let ourselves be more open to something random happening. Or if it is really bad at the end, change two 12″ blocks. Having to have everything so structured on every quilt is not letting us play and learn. Try to be more open on this one event. Sorry if I am overstepping. But some improve is good sometimes. And in the end you will love it. The pattern is wonderful and YOU did it!!!!!!! Love to all who are participating in this special even.

  2. There are setting suggestions somewhere on the blog, but not sure how updated they are. She shows two settings – one for the quilt using the different sized blocks, and one option using just 12″ blocks. I was in the same quandry as you, so put mine up on my design wall to see how my colors looked in her configuration. Then I realized my 12″ blocks could be interchanged depending on where they looked better, and also, that if I didn’t like a particular block, I could find a pattern for one I preferred and substitute that (which I have done). Pat has lots of fun blocks all over her website if you just look around.

  3. Pat un bloque precioso y creativo para poner los colores y estampados de tela que te gusten. ¡¡¡Es un reto!!! Muchas gracias. Saludos

  4. design decisions – without a setting not sure what colorway to make this one. Maybe i will get “on the go” to pick blueberries this morning and get inspired for a blueway !! YAY!
