  1. I made a bear claw quilt for my granddaughters wedding. Both of them have Native American background. I used appropriate material and quilting pattern. They loved it.

  2. I have not made a quilt for a wedding gift as of yet. I gave made several for wedding shower gifts and baby shower gifts. I also haven’t made a Wedding Ring quilt as of yet, but I would like to. That KS for all you do, Pat. I love your videos❤. Love, Sharon

  3. I’ve made a few Log Cabin block quilts in the couples wedding colors.
I’ve also asked the bride and groom what type/color of quilt they wanted. l let them pick out the pattern, colors and size. I’d get it all stitched up and quilted. I love to know that they will actually enjoy the quilt I made for them.

  4. I made a couple of quilts using the baby clothes and Young pictures that i printed out on printable fabric squares as my first Quilting gift. I still Think about all of the “ will They like it “ moments to this day. Sometimes you have to jump right in with everything you have and enjoy the experience while you are sewing, creating, ripping out a lot of thread just because you want it to last forener … just like their maarige … which is still going strong
    Yours truely

  5. I have only made one quilt as a wedding gift and I did not have a specific pattern. I just used a jelly roll and some background fabric, it was sewn in kind of a basket weave design. I made it as a picnic quilt with the instructions for the couple to “Keep Dating”.

  6. I have not made a wedding quilt. But, I made an Wedding Anniversary quilt for my Daughter and Son-In-Law. I would love to win the book! It sounds like a “great read”!!

  7. The book sounds like it will be great reading. Love all of the things you mentioned were in it.
I made an original quilt for my nephew and his bride. I called it The Oregon Quilt. It has several of the deer with the 3-d ear I sent you for the critter quilt. I made patterns for wild flowers and other animals found in Oregon along with pine trees, acorns and other plants (but no poison oak!). It was so fun to create.

  8. I made my niece and her hubby a rail fence lap quilt in greens, brown, & black with a matching throw pillow for their wedding. She’d been thru a lot of bad stuff and finally found a good man to marry & love of her.

  9. I am working on a lavender and green disappearing 9 patch for my nephew. I have been out of commission a few years due to moving and a work schedule I am now working a regular job and looking forward to getting back into the swing of things.

  10. I’ve given several baby shower quilts, but only ONE wedding quilt (to quilt-worthy people). The pattern was Elizabeth Hartman’s Dogs in Sweaters. It seemed appropriate for them as there are 5 weenies in the family! My people loved it and slept under it that same night.

  11. I have made a double wedding ring wall hanging for my oldest granddaughter out of the skirt of her wedding dress, a card trick queen sized quilt for my grandson and another queen sized quilt for my middle granddaughter. I took a nasty fall about 10 days ago and have very limited Time on my computer. I finally get x-rays taken this Friday to see if I damaged my back. Hopefully life will get back to normal and the pain will lessen.

  12. I did not make a quilt for wedding gift, but I did make a hand embroidered wall hanging with bride and groom’s name and wedding info.

  13. Of course I made a couple of Double Wedding Ring quilts for my two married sons. Although it was a year or two before they received them.

  14. I made a bargello quilt for my grandson and wife for their wedding. Enjoy your videos so much. Thank you.

  15. I have never made a large quilt for a wedding, but I love to make small wallhangings with pictures of the bride and groom along with their names and wedding date embroidered on them.

  16. I made a rail fence quilt for my nephew and new wife. It was called Rhythm and Blues, full of music fabric because he was a music instructor and is now has his doctorate and is a professor at a university.

  17. I have not made a quilt for a wedding gift, but have made quilts for gifts. The giving is the best part of the process!

  18. I have not made a wedding quilt yet but I’ve only been quilting for about 2 years. Some day maybe I will. I love to read when I’m not sewing.

  19. So far I’ve made five quilts as wedding gifts. The last one was with sunflowers, the brides favorite flower, the others have all been neutrals because that’s what the brides wanted

  20. I have made picnic quilts and given them as wedding gifts along with a complete picnic basket stocked with plates , cups, flatware, corkscrew, cloth napkins, serving/storage containers for food. Once the basket is full, I roll up the quilt and store it between the handle and tie it with a bow.

  21. I made 2 queen size log cabins in a heart shape. Also made a shadow rectangles with family photographs so the couple married wrapped in family past and present.

  22. I made a log cabin quilt for my sister in law when she married her second husband. She was married to my husband’s brother for many years before cancer took his life. I love to read on my kindle.

  23. I haven’t made very many wedding quilts but the one I made for oldest son and daughter in law was a Double Irish Chain.

  24. I made a fan quilt for our Japanese “son” and his wife for a wedding quilt. My mother and a friend helped to hand quilt this which made it even more special.

  25. I love really close to Waxahachie. It is a great town. I made a wedding throw once. I designed it in strips that were abour 4 inches wide going across the quilt in blues and yellows. The couple love it.

  26. I have not made a quilt for a wedding gift, but have made many quilts for other gift occasions. I’m not sure if I am confident enough to try a Wedding Ring quilt.

  27. I just made the quilt in the July Sew Sampler box, Sweet Land of Liberty you showed today. My granddaughter is getting married and uses a lot of patriotic items in her decorating. I thought this quilt would be prefect for them. She will be the first grandchild getting married. So, she set the bar…8 more quilts to be made for wedding gifts.

  28. I look forward to your videos! So much information and fun. I love to read and this book would be a great addition to my collection. Thank you for sharing.

  29. My mother made me a wedding ring quilt several years ago, hand pieced and hand quilted, a prize possession of mine. She has passed on but her memory and love are still with me.
Even though I do machine pieced quilts, I have not attempted a wedding ring quilt.

  30. I have made wedding quilts in the past, but most younger people have no idea the time and love you have put into making a quilt for them. From now on I am making picnic quilts for date night. To be used in the park, at a ballgame or in the back yard to spend time together on. Never stop dating each other will go in the card. I think the couple will get a lot more uses out of a picnic quilt in a basket.

  31. Missed the part about what type. The first one was a wedding ring quilt. The second was a friendship quilt that everyone contributed fabric to including her future mother-in-law who is a fabulous quilter. The one fore my niece was a more modern quilt made from a kit.

  32. I have made a wedding quilt for each of my daughters (married 19 and 28 years) and then 2 years ago I made one for my great-niece.

  33. I haven’t made a quilt as a wedding gift yet. I’m a very slow quilter so I would be afraid I wouldn’t get it done in time.

  34. This looks like an interesting book. And the blurb you read sounds intriguing. I plan to see if it’s available at the library. I’m planning to make a Steps to the Altar quilt, but won’t finish before the wedding. I think every quilter finds that a challenge! Thanks Oat, for all you do for us quilters!

  35. I haven’t done a wedding gift yet. Doing a bed quilt for Son and wife now I think I’ll call it a belated wedding gift now:-)
