A favorite thanksgiving tradition is the use of a Thanksgiving tablecloth on which everyone writes down what they are thankful for. We have so much fun reading past years comments. The cookies look delicious! I would love to try the mixed assortment.
Sorry, didn’t see where it said to comment your favorite Thanksgiving tradition. Ours is making my Momma’s cornbread dressing. Even living away for 8 years, I would still make it for my own family. Now, living closer, I get to make it with my Momma!
I’m one of 15, who all have spouses, children with spouses and grandchildren for a total of 125 and growing. We used to rent a hall and cook 3 turkeys with the fixings because Mom couldn’t do it for such a large crowd.
Mom and Dad have passed so now we rent a hall with a caterer. No stress no fuss and the cousins get to know each other and we all have a grand time. The 15 siblings chip in an annual $200 and we use that for a combined graduation party to avoid date conflicts, our annual Christmas Day evening gathering and our once a month Saturday breakfast gathering.
Thanksgiving is so special and that’s what we all enjoy the most. Ain’t family grand!? 🥰
I would love to try those cookies!
Our Thanksgiving tradition is No Tradition!! Especially this year since my husband passed away in August there will not be our Butterball Turkey making session…that might sound sad but it is what it is and I’m going out to eat this year, forging new traditions on the horizon. By the way, my late Mom’s tradition was to cook Cornish Hens which I never understood! lol Happy Thanksgiving Pat!
On Thanksgiving what’s left of my family gets together for a wonderful dinner and draws names for Christmas gifts. Would love to win the Nutcracker Tin of cookies to share with my wonderful family.
Our family gets together to enjoy our favorite recipes and being together. It’s the best meal of the whole year!
I love turkey and being with family.
I would love to win one of these cookie tins. I enjoy watching your videos you inspire me to sew more
My favorite tradition is making my grandmother’s peach pie in her old pie pan.
Turkey and stuffing are the only constants for Thanksgiving. Potatoes, other vegetables and desserts differ from year to year. The cookies look delish!!
My Thanksgiving tradition is simple – I usually go out to eat and spend the day watching movies or sewing. I am thankful for my grown children who live away – we will be together at Christmas.
Family. List of what I am grateful to God for… just love the quiet moments to reflect.
And….did someone say COOKIES. Would love to try them and the containers look adorable. Thanks Pat for all you do
Besides getting together as a family on Thanksgiving (4 kids and their families too), some of the tradition is in the food. I make a kind of cranberry relish that has orange, walnuts, cranberries and a bit of sugar. Also I make a cranberry and apple pie with a lattice top, and a ‘Braid of Berne’, a challah like braided loaf of bread (from Germany).
We have an old fashioned paper turkey with ahoneycomb fold out tail for our centerpiece each year!
I LOVE the cookie tins.
I haven’t started my National Parks quilt, but I have the fabric all together and will start cutting soon.
Thanks, Pat.
I’m still trying to win COOKIES! The tins are all lovely but my favorite is the nutcrackers.
Our tradition when the kids were young, we’d have breakfast at Shoney’s breakfast bar, then go home and I’d make caramel corn. Once that was done it would be time for the Carousel Parade in downtown Charlotte. That would last all afternoon, then we ‘d head to South Park Mall to have dinner at K&W Cafeteria. We’d go outside and wait for the Christmas tree lighting at South Park and watch the fireworks before heading home.
We moved to FL and there’s not even a Thanksgiving parade where we live now. I miss the floats and bands from the local high schools.
Like many, we gather together…whatever family and friends we can squeeze around the table. The menu is always the same… and we are so grateful for the time to give thanks. My Mom used to make Mince Pie, but that fell by the wayside when she got too old to keep up with that tradition. I miss it…and her.
It’s definitely fun to have traditions that you follow for many years, but sometimes things change and you get to start new traditions. Our most recent tradition for Thanksgiving is joining my Dad, who this year is a 97 year old WWII Veteran, where he lives in an Independant Senior Living Center where they have a fantastic spread for Thanksgiving Dinner prepared by their resident chef and staff. It includes all you could ever hope for and more in a Thanksgiving Brunch/Dinner. Then later most of our family ends up at our house for the usual football games and other activities. We sometimes try to plan some Christmas crafts for the kids to enjoy with all of the adults joining in or we play games. Our meal is early enough for those who have other family dinners, so they are free to go to those as well. It has worked for the last 8 years. We are so blessed! The cookies from Leckerlee would be a great addition to our snacks during the evening when no one wants to cook since we have no left-overs from the big dinner. Thanks Pat and Leckerlee for this giveaway. If I don’t win I will just have to order some to have them available!
Our family that includes 7 grandkids, fixes Thanksgiving dinner together. Each family member is responsible for making one menu item for dinner. Everyone participates, even the youngest 10 year old. My husband is cooking the turkey and I am making the cranberry relish. We all gather at the home of my step daughter and the kitchen is bustling! It would be great to enjoy the cookies anytime over the holidays.
Wish I could say I had a tradition but my husband and my son both have jobs that require them to work holidays. So just getting through the holidays is my tradition!
For Thanksgiving we like to find people who might be spending the day alone and invite them over . We are a small family so we enjoy all the company!
Thanksgiving is family time with good food and celebrating my birthday this year.
Loved the National Park parade!
After we eat Thanksgiving dinner, we watch football and play bunco! So fun!
Thanksgiving tradition is all about food especially turkey and pumpkin pie – and being thankful!
Thanksgiving traditions are similar to most families, gathering for a meal prepared by many, great food, good company and football.
The day after Thanksgiving we gather with my husband’s family to make our Christmas ravioli, with a recipe passed down from his grandmother. Everyone takes turns making the dough, filling, rolling and cutting the ravioli. We now live far away but we still have our “ravioli day” virtually with the extended family. We count and keep track of the number of ravioli made each year. They are frozen and then served Christmas Day.
Thanksgiving get together at our home. But know we go out for Thanksgiving. The family much smaller. Would love to win a tin of lovely cookies.
the kids use to gather at my house. But that’s not possible now that we’re up to 12 grand children and spouses. plus 4 great grandchildren. It’s wonderful. We all bring covered dishes. I’m in charge of homemade rolls and peach cobbler. So, the cookies will fit right in I’m willing to have either ones you choose.
I’m Norwegian and make a traditional cranberry salad. My family loves it!
Thank you for giving us a chance to try those beautiful cookies with a discount and a chance to win a tin full!
I would like the tin with the tin soldier on it.
In my family we all gather together for a relaxing day on Thanksgiving. We each bring a dish or two and just enjoy being together.
We play Thanksgiving Bingo and provide the prizes. I crochet cute fun animals.
The most important thing for us at Thanksgiving is to be able to get the whole family together.
I am of German descent, but have never known of these cookies, would love to try them.
I love to cook the big meal for my family and enjoy the chaos of having everyone at our house.
My mother is from Germany, so I know that cookie. She always gets some from Aldi’s every year. Our traditions at Thanksgiving were and still is all about the food; turkey, sweet potato soufle, pumpkin pie, and dressing (never stuffing). Mom always puts out the china. This year will be a sad one without my dad who just passed away in October. Our family is small, but there is so much love to go around it makes up for the size.
we do a planned pot luck dinner and sing the doxology before the meal which is a tradition with my husband’s family which have all passed on and we are the old generation now. We are also of German descent on both sides of the family so would love to win the cookie tin
Family Traditions are: Having deep fried turkey and all the trimmings for thanksgiving dinner and to start decorating for Christmas
My favorite Thanksgiving tradition is getting together with family and enjoying a delicious Thanksgiving meal.
Getting the family all together for turkey dinner!
I would love to win the Tiergarden Tin full of Chocolate cookies..I have learned so much about quilting from you and have a few of your wonderful books…
I have seldom met a cookie I didn’t like, and with my German heritage, I know I would love these cookies.
Being with family — visiting with family at various homes — happy memories. I miss these people so much.
Family is the biggest tradition, since we are a small family. Having 2 Thanksgiving dinners is the second, one at a nice restaurant and a second one at home.
We also love Lecklerlee Lebkuchen.
Our favorite Thanksgiving food is raspberry jello with raspberries in it, topped with whipped cream.
I would LOVE to win these cookies! Our tradition is probably the same as many other families…pumpkin and apple pies and eggnog with nutmeg!
Oh my goodness I have sat here watching a parade of the most beautiful quilts and blocks. And Pat you make me laugh every time I see you. What a great channel you have. I want a tin so much, I will give it to my daughter. She’s very sick with leukemia. I’m making a quilted tote, a quilted cosmetic bag and a quilted apron for Christmas. Wish me luck on getting it all completed in time.

Just to gather as a family and enjoy each others company. Before we eat we go around and give thanks for something. Then we toast each other and remember those who are no longer with us. So many blessings.
