***Home Is… Mystery Sew Along Details***

This sew along theme is inspired by all things 'Cozy'.  I have some fun ideas that will bring us into fall and winter, when we can all use some coziness!

DETAILS:

  • RUNS:  January 6, 2021 to June 2, 2021
  • Blocks: Various size blocks
  • SIZE: Asymmetrical Lap size – similar in feel to The 182 day Solstice and Grandma's Kitchen
  • Type of Blocks: Pieced with a FEW EASY applique tossed in
  • TIMING:  Wednesday around 7:30am EST. Email notice goes out noon-ish in my time zone, EST. The email is NEVER when the block is published.
  • Quilt Photo Sharing: Share at my Facebook community or at the end of each article. You can share your fabric down below! I am using the same photo share for all the Block Wednesday.

FAQ:

  • What is a Fat Quarter? A fat quarter is half of a 1/2 yard of fabric cut WIDE so it is  18" x 20"
  • Can I use fabric that is not a FQ? Sure! this is meant to use up what you have with a bit added.
  • Can I use Stash (fabric I own) – Yes!  Pull out a bundle of beautiful fabric
  • Will I use all the fabric – Not all of it. This is to give you variety, more is better!
  • Can you show me the blocks in advance? No, it's a mystery
  • What are the Technique? – All Easy Pieced. And some easy Applique.. SUPER EASY applique. Get my Applique book at http://shrsl.com/23352
    • NOTE: The Block does NOT LOOK like the topic of the week. This is not a pictorial quilt. I do a topic as it is way more fun than just plopping out a block.  I love the memories and sometimes research that goes into the topic.  That keeps my Sew alongs fun and unique.

***Fabric Options***
As you see on the supply list below, I'm using a selection of Blue fat quarters  + background fabric. You will have some left over. I'm also going to be pulling from all shades of blue that I own already to add to these. I am so excited about that!

Now for some fabric suggestions

  1. Would the Christopher Thompson 10โ€ stacker along with the 2 yards of background fabric be sufficient for this sew along? Blue stitch does not come in fat quarters I donโ€™t think.

  2. Happy Birthday and Thanksgiving day. I still use my graduated sizes mixing bowl set–yellow, green, red and med. blue altho I’ve lost the blue one. Boo hoo. It was the perfect size for little mixing jobs.

  3. Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving from New Brunswick Canada
I have a large Pyrex turquoise salad or fruit bowl
    Stay safe

  4. Happy Birthday Pat!!! Happy Thanksgiving as well. Thank You for being my new BFF! I have learned so much from you. You are truly a bright star in these challenging days. I wish you the best Birthday Ever!

  5. Happy birthday and many blessings to you, Pat!!! You make life so much better for us and I hope that returns to you in mountains of blessings!!! God watch over you and enjoy your birthday!!! The turkeys are adorable!!! I used to raise turkeys on my farm!!!

  6. Happy Birthday and Happy Thanksgiving! Have a great day and year!
On another note what is the pattern of the quilt behind you on your right? Love it!

  7. Pat, Several of your followers, like me, live in Corning NY – home of Pyrex. We can probably find most anything you want, possibly in our kitchens. You might think of vacationing here to do some collecting. Make sure you let us know what you decide on and we can be on the look out.

  8. Thanksgiving is for being thankful….Birthdays are to celebrate….so, Pat, I am thankful for YOU and all you do for us and celebrate YOUR birthday!!!
