  1. Besides the obvious of knowing where I need to be on what day and what time, I enjoy seeing the blocks of time I have to be able to sew. But the best part, at least for me, is having that historical record of what I have accomplished. Often it amazes me in a good way how much gets done. It also helps ground me to reality that I can’t do everything that I want to do or already have kitted, ready to go. So that helps in prioritizing my projects.

  2. I try to use the planner to keep me on track and even set time limits for tasks that I don’t like doing. If I need to clean my sewing room, I may set my timer for 30 minutes. Then when it lets me know the time has expired, I will reward myself 30 minutes to do something I want to do a fun task before starting another cleaning task. I make notes in my planner on what I have accomplished that day and maybe give myself a star for completing each task that day.

  3. I love planners , they help me keep my family and all the activities they have organized. If I ever lost mine the family would be in chaos. When I take on a new project I always consider what my family has going on before I start.

  4. Planners keep me organized! And I love all the color coordinating options! Each member of the family has a special color and makes it easier to keep track of all that’s going on!

  5. Using a planner helps me to set goals and stay on track to accomplish them! This Lori Holy Planner looks like it has a lot of space to make notes about quilting plans and keep track of fabrics and patterns used, etc.

  6. I have not used a planner before but I hope this year it will help me organize the quilts I have. I really need to finish several before I begin another. I also have many I need to just quilt. So I really need to be more organized.

  7. I use my planner for menu planning and jotting down items needed from grocery store for the following week.

  8. I love to use a planner to keep me on track with my quilting goals. It is a great tool to keep me organized and motivated. I have never used Lori’s planner but would love to give it a try 😍

  9. I love using a planner for organizing what I want to do, and keeping me focused to get my goals done. The planner helps to keep everything front and center, and I love checking things off as I accomplish them.

  10. I’m a list maker. Every Sunday I look at my pocket calendar to see what I have going on for the week/month. I make monthly goals and post it by my sewing machine to keep me focused and I have found that I am much more productive that way and have a great sense of accomplishment. I also take a note pad and pen with me to guild meetings to jot down pertinent information. A planner like this could allow me to keep everything in one place for easy reference. Thanks for the inspiration Pat.

  11. Using a planner keeps me on point in tracking what I have to do and when to monitor my progress. Keeps me honest! LOL!

  12. My favourite part of the planner is, the list of tools & fabrics I have and need. Also, it helps me stay so organized. 🙂

  13. Actually I have never used a planner before but I just retired and have so many projects I want to do I need something to help me get organized.

  14. Keeping track of my current and future projects, gives me pleasure to mark something complete, and makes me rearrange projects by importance. This planner would be a wonderful part of my sewing room!

  15. My favorite part about being a planner is that it inspires me to do more, because I don’t want to not not have all my boxes checked at the end of the day.

  16. My favorite part of using a planner is being able to not only track what is yet needed to be done, but also being able to look back and seeing what has been accomplished.

  17. I was recently diagnosed with breast cancer. I’m using my planner to keep track of my upcoming appointments and to make notes about what is discussed at my appointments. I have a new addiction to the color pink.

  18. My favorite part of using a planner is staying organized. I can record future appontments and of course block off time for the daily Pat Sloan UTube posts and the Wednesday and Friday Fat Quarter Shop UTube shows!

  19. My favorite reason for the planner is to be able to simply plan each day, week, month and year. When finished a year, you have it for reference as well as history to look back at. Would love to have this pink planner. It looks so well made. Thank you for the giveaway!

  20. Planners keep me organized and productive! My favorite part is drawing a line through a to-do item indicating it’s complete!

  21. My favorite thing about using a planner is that I no longer have to keep a detailed one for my work appointments!! Now it’s mostly fun and stitching. 🙂

  22. I love using a planner because it’s so nice to see what is going on that’s tangible. I’m a very hands-on person and need to feel things to feel “complete”!!!

  23. I just started using a planner this year. I love that I can go back and see what I did and when. I try and write down how much time I put in a quilt and how much fabric was. I can plan for my next projects. I will was just thinking it was time to get one for next year.

  24. My favorite part of planning is being able to track my schedule and keep track of my progress on my quilting and cross stitch WIP’s.

  25. Using a planner helps my brain relax, and focus. My favorite part is checking off things that have been accomplished!

  26. My favorite part of using a planner is that I can keep my kids activities organized and in one place. I love seeing a blank day, which means I have more time to sew!

  27. I love planners……having had 3 kids with many activities and working night shift…my life was run by “is it on the calendar”… my life was planned out for months with these type of things

  28. I love using a planner to stay on track, but also to look back and see what I’ve done. Include fabrics used, pattern used, and quilting pattern. Very helpful!

  29. My favorite part.of using a planner is so I can stay organized and focused throughout the year and looking at my achievements at the end of the year.
Thanks Pat for your daily videos.

  30. I have been using a planner for three years and what I find most beneficial to ME, is that I can see a history of my work. What did I produce? How did it work for me? What fabrics did I use? (I add small fabric samples and product numbers in my journal.) The name of the pattern. The journal is also goal setting and therefore pushes me gently to keep moving ahead even when new ideas become rabbit trails. Listing calculations or adjustments in one place helps me recall my plans to finish my quilt. Dates started and finished and who received my quilt are part of my journal too.

  31. My favorite part about using a planner it keeps me on track and organized and I can see what is coming up next with my work (I’m a nurse) as well as my appointments and my grandkids sports activities. I would be lost if I didn’t use one!!

  32. I am a list maker, so enjoy having a planner that helps me organize my daily projects. Always start out with a top 3 for the day.

  33. I have never used a planner. I’ve thought about it but just never done it. I do love Lori Holt’s pink planner and maybe I would use it since it is so pretty. 🙂

  34. I love my planner! It’s a diary of my life. I have planners all the way back into my teen years! It helps me feel organized whether I accomplish what’s on the agenda for the day or not! Haha

  35. My favorite part of using a planner is to see the lists I make checked off!!!! It feels so good to accomplish my goals.

  36. My favorite part of the planner is the theory behind it, I buy one almost every year, with the idea that I will use it, but…

  37. I have never used a planner, so I can’t tell you my favorite part.Maybe if I got one I could be more organized. Sometimes I get confused what project I bought certain fabric for and maybe a planner would help with that.

  38. My favorite part of using a planned is the feeling of satisfaction when I check off the projects I have completed!

  39. I love using a planner to keep me organized and I seem to have more finished projects when I use it. But the my favorite part is being able to write down whatever is in my brain at the time, so I can prioritize and make better decisions.

  40. I am a dedicated list maker, and as a Project Manager in my work career (retired now) I love using a planner to keep myself organized and focused on my daily, weekly, and monthly goals. I love how you create monthly calendar with events, and your monthly goals sheets. It really is appreciated and helps so much. Thanks Pat!

  41. I use a planner to keep me on track. Since I retired its a way to plan time for cleaning, etc in between my sewing! Thanks for all you do for us!

  42. I’ve never used a planner before but would like to try one. We are downsizing in 6 months and it may be very useful in keeping track of my works in progress. Right now I have enough space to spread things out so it’s not a big deal to jump from project to project. Love your videos, which I only found about 3 months ago.

  43. I feel like an adult when I use a planner. I tend to be all over the place with ideas and best of intentions, but when I use a planner, it really helps me to stay focused.
