My theme this week is picking flowers, which might be the BEST part of being a gardener right? Go out to your own flower beds and pick a vase full of blooms!  Divine! I have an old splatterware jug that belonged to Gregg's grandmother. I fill it each spring.

We also have the next set of small blocks, so fun!  This is a PERFECT time to use up smaller pieces to make a scrappy block. Keep reading to see my tips and the section together, then the Download for my pattern this week is in PINK

TIPS FOR DIE CUTTING

  • Always move your dies around so that you don't keep cutting on the same section.
  • I've found that when I angle the die on the shim it does a few things. First it more evenly distributes the die across the roller that is pressing to cut the fabric. Which means it won't be as loud.
  • It also creates more even pressing areas on the shims so that you don't have a hard line. That keeps the shims from bending as much.
  • I live with an engineer, he had to play with this to figure it out. it's what they do.. they can't help themselves. Do you know an engineer? Then you know what I mean!

** BUY A GEMINI Die Cut machine, I love mine! **

  1. I need to complete a Christmas quilt….it’s been on my to do list for a long time. I have even collected fabrics, but the christmas reds and greens change so much from year to year. When I have time to start it I can’t decide on a pattern…just another quilting dilema….gotta love it…so many projects, so little time!!!

  2. Spring and Summer for sure. My house is filled with Christmas quilts all year long! Figgy Pudding has had a permanent place on my bed since I made it.
    Thanks for all your do!

  3. Winter please. I did your Christmas Quilt, now that the season is past I need a winter themed one. Thanks for all the fun adventures you take us Quilters.

  4. Summer ideas definitely need a boost. I have a few table runners but could use more for the 4 seasons.

  5. I need a fall quilt for next year but chances are that I will be making it for someone else and will love it so much that I will keep it for myself,=. lol

  6. Spring and Fall are my favorites. All the new things are ready to appear once Spring arrives and by the time Fall arrives, I’m ready for the cool down of summer. Call also brings all the beautiful colors of the leaves.

  7. I need fall and winter quilts. My stash is full of spring and summer colors because I love them:) who knows if I will fix that imbalance

  8. I want to make a Christmas quilt. I know I need to get started so it will be done and quilted so I can use it this year.

  9. I need a quilt to sit on with my family while we watch the 4th of July parade! Summer would be my season.

  10. I need somethings for Spring and Summer. Of course, I can never have too many fall or Christmas/Winter. Giggl!

  11. Surviving the longest, coldest, darkest and snow filled winter in Chicago, I am
In desperate need for Spring! A bright colored tulip quilt pattern would warm
My hands, feet, legs and everything else attempting to thaw out bust mostly my
    Heart!!!

  12. I would like to do a quilt for a son in law.. a sportsman theme. Ya gotta love the men in our lives..

  13. Congratulations Pat on your new book! I’m sure it will do well. I need spring and summer in table runners, I made a fall one, but I don’t have one for the summer.Thank you for all the hard work you do.

  14. I probably need to make some autumnal quilts and quilty decor; that’s where I’m lacking at my house. The rest of the year is pretty well-represented.

  15. A fall quilt is needed at my home because we are usually traveling in the fall and then it’s time to make Christmas motifs.

  16. I love Summer so I am going to make a Sunflower quilt for myself (I give most of them away) but love the tulip quilt as well.

  17. I definitely need more spring and summer quilts in my home.im feeling drab with all of the fall colors I have going on right now.

  18. I need everything! I have just rediscovered quilting after raising my daughter and finishing up my career. I am so excited. I want to make it all!

  19. I like the winter season. I’m hoping to make a quilt this year for me and my home to snuggle up in the colder weather. It will hopefully be a lap quilt size. ☆

  20. I need summer quilts and pillows. I don’t have wall space, so I decorate with runners, pillows, and lap quilts.
