I pick up batting when it’s on sale. I would love a bolt.
I try to have batting on hand. I look for sales.

I try to buy a roll at a time. It makes it easier because of making a lot of children’s charity quilts.

I’ve been very fortunate over the last number of years in that I’ve been able to stock batting before it almost doubled! I can’t stock it anymore though!

In the past, I have kept multiple packages of binding on hand, but space is an issue so I usually buy batting as I need it now.
I usually buy a roll of Warm and White. When I use a different batting like bamboo or wool I buy a packaged size. I love Warm and White for almost all of my quilting. I used wool for the first time recently when I made a quilt for a friend in a warmer climate.

I stock bolts of my favorite batting so I always have some when I’m in the mood to quilt a top or want to finish something for a quick gift. I prefer to use bolts since the I tend to end up with a lot more small scraps with the individual bags
I’ll buy what I need for a quilt & use all the pieces for toppers. During pandemic I sewed many strips together.

I am a believer of “reduce, reuse, recycle”,so many of my smaller battings are Franken-batts!!😂

I pay for most of my batting through my long arm quilter. She buys in large quantities the type she likes for her machine. Occassionally I like to quilt my own, therefore I buy it as I need it.

Having batting on hand is a must! Tops accumulate quickly and I can always pull fabric from my stash for a backing. Don’t want to have lack of batting slow me down!
