** Tips**
CUT ONLY what you need. don't cut width of fabric.
For the center I wanted to find the middle of the horse. Here is the process to determine the center
- Need to cut a 4.5"
- I decided it's easier to explain my thinking of half of 4" is 2"
- half of 1/2" is 1/4"
- So Mark the 2 1/4" x 2 1/4" with the ruler sticker
- Then place that point in the middle of the image you want to cut around
Goodies I Use
- Ruler Stickers https://shrsl.com/28jq5
Block comes out each Wednesday Morning. BUT for the next few weeks it will be TUESDAY
- The email notice sends around noon est. Check your spam if you didn't get it
- For each pattern the last page has a mock up of the block in repeat and a sometimes coloring page to use for that
- Enter your Email for a notice
- Share your block at the end
- Also Join my Facebook community, we have so much fun!

Well, being Dutch the bike is almost in our DNA. It’s the main means of transport for us to go to school or transport your small children and shopping. I could not live without it, even though I have car.
My reboot project is an old cross stitch pattern I had been working on. Your talking bout cross stitch has made me want to do it again, so I pulled out my bag the other day, cleaned everything out, and am in fact cross stitching while I listen to you.
My husband has started working from home, and he uses the computer all day, so I confess I catch up on your videos a few at a time. But I LOVE Them. Love your ideas. My husband will hear me say, ” Do I have time to go watch Pat Sloan?”
Hi Pat. my reboot is not a quilt or a project. it is bins and baskets full of fabric from finished quilts and projects. boy I didn’t realize how far behind I was on reducing all this fabric into useable sizes. first I started putting it in sizes and replacing the fqs into their own areas. the bigger ones I cut 10 inch squares then from biggest to smallest squares that I keep in shoe boxes. Cut all day , stopping to make sliders for lunch. (Hubby and Son worked on the 2 plus acres of yard while I hid away and cut} Still have 3 bins and a drawer unit that has 2 drawers full of material to do. I have a bloomtopia unit to do, everything is dine and on schedule. WHEW
Yes, I watch your videos everyday and am inspired. Always enjoy your chats & your laugh. Keep up the great work!!
I am loving your videos, they are a highlight of my day. I am a school teacher but am on school holidays at present. Head back next week to more remote teaching and learning more technology. Am currently doing both out west and last night started childhood games. Also watched your March video on organising an assistant so set up my first rolling assistant!
Thank you Samantha
I watch your April Activities on YouTube not Facebook.
Thanks for doing it again May!
I listen to your podcast every day. Do I do all the challenges? Uh…no. But I still love to listen. I’m better at listening than I am at doing. Ha, ha. I LOVE hearing your stories, so NO, it is not boring at all. I’d actually would like to hear more about how you got started and about your quilting journey. Fascinating!
Hi Pat,
I am doing the childhood games and the stay at home quilt. I really look forward to your videos. You definitely help keep me motivated. I have been doing a ton of sewing since I can’t have my grand babies here until the Covid is over. While I was sorting through my fabric, I found the cutest fabric with red eyeglasses on black & white print. I thought of you when I found it and would like to send you some. Can you email me and tell me where to send it? I really think you should have it!!
one group at a time Carol and you can do it!
Perfect!
that is so exciting to know exactly which project to reboot! yeah!! I can’t wait to see it Claudia!
Hanna I’m so glad you figured it out!
perfect reboot!
I watch your videos every day on you tube. Today you talked about reboot. I want to do that but right now I am in the middle of making face masks for the nurses and business office people at my daughter’s office as they have run out of masks. Hopefully I will get them finished this week and can get back to a charity quilt I am making. I think I need twelve more blocks and they are half square triangles so that won’t take too long to finish. After that I am working on a quilt for one of my granddaughters so that is going to take a while and I have a lot of half-finished projects to work on. I wonder if I will ever get caught up. Will be watching you tomorrow.
My reboot is an Easter Quilt that I had started before Easter and because of everything that is going on, got put aside. I just finished sewing the squares together in rows and so not I want to sew the rows together. I do love quilting….it makes me happy, and bu the way, I love the new sashing you have for your Stay At Home quilt. It is much nicer that the other one that you had….in my opinion….lol. See you tomorrow
Hi Pat! First of all, I watch every single day! Your videos take me out of this “Ground Hog Day” feeling I get so often now. This pandemic has even taken my love of shopping away, so you are a bright spot in each of my days. I thank you for that!!!
As soon as you explained reboot, my eyes went right up to a project on my shelf that I started years ago. It’s a Celtic Knot wall hanging, that I took lessons to do online. Hopefully I can get a picture of it sometime soon to share with you. I am very proud of this project, and it is almost complete. I need to finish quilting it, then trim and bind it.
Thank you also so much for continuing into May! This is just so much fun! I really appreciate all the hard work you put in for us each day. You ROCK!!!
Yes, I watch you daily. Today I had trouble downloading or whatever and so here you finally are….lol. Love it and thank you <3
My reboot is the quilt I’m making with Stay At Home pattern. I haven’t worked on it in a week so catching up. I watch your video everyday. Thank you for doing them. I have learned a lot from them
thank you Marilyn!
That is good Kim!
I can’t wait to see it Ellen!
I’m so happy to have you watch!
Hi Pat
I’m from the UK so pick up your videos at a different time but I’m really enjoying the challenges! I catch most of them at some point but really value the ones that persuade me to sort out my sewing. So rebooting for me will be catching up on (another) UFO but I think I’ll need lockdown in the UK to last until Christmas to give me time to get caught up 😂
Hi Pat,
Thank you so much for the Childhood Games quilt-a-long. I am especially liking the simplicity of the Riding Bikes block and since I am using a bike print in all of my blocks, this one is so appropriate. I love my blocks so far.
I do so love checking out your videos and chats. I almost always watch them after the fact. I have jumped back into quilting after a long break and have not been consistent in your daily jobs, but I have done some significant clean up in my space and have completed several of those unfinished projects. Thank you as always for your inspiration!
Thank you so much for the new Childhood Games block. I am enjoying your site very much, especially the videos.
