My favorite place to stitch is in a campground, I always take a bit of hand stitching along. When my mom & dad came camping with us, mom and I would sit and sew small blocks together by hand, after hiking. Pieces were all cut ahead of time, we made like little kits for ourselves. I miss that time together. It was always a treat when other campers would come visit our site to see what we were doing. It surprises me how many quilters go camping and hiking!

I like to stitch on the beach, watching and listening to the waves of the ocean.
I can be a little tricky on a windy day, but most of the time I prepare by threading
multiple needles and I put my pattern in a zip lock bag. So relaxing!
I like to do any kind of handwork down at my husband’s hunting cabin. I can get soooo much more done as there is no cell phone service, no television and no interruptions! The cabin has a big picture window, so the lighting is perfect. The guys go out in the early morning and most days don’t return until evening. So quiet and relaxing!
My favorite place to stitch is in a hotel room when I am traveling for work or when I am on vacation. I have a project that I have been working on for a long time that has been on nearly every trip I have taken.
I like to stitch in the evenings when I’m ready to unwind for the day.
When I stitch at home it is at what I call “my spot”. I have made a place for all my supplies and the magnifying light around my comfy chair in the living room. But now that I have multiple doctors appoints and lengthy chemo time so I stitch there. All the nurses peek in to see what I am doing, some give tips and advice but the best is the project bags!! I have a few very pretty ones.
I’ll stitch where ever I can. It is my new favorite hobby!!!!!!
I stitch on the couch with my two cats. One is always ready to help with the thread.
I love to do handwork in the car( it doesn’t bother me while I ride) and I love to quilt on vacation.
I like to stitch on the couch in the living room and just sitting and resting.
Hi Pat, My favorite place to stitch is sitting on our porch at our cabin in the Sierra Nevada Mountains. The granite mountains and pine trees are so beautiful!!
My favorite spot is on the left hand side of the sofa. It is comfortable and roomy enough that I can spread out my cross-stitch bag, my pattern attached to a thin paper size metal holder with strip magnets, my threads, my project , my phone, my iPad and my tv remote but still leaves enough room for my husband on the other side lol.
I either stitch at my sewing/craft table, on the LR sofa, or in bed. I guess the bed would be the most out of the ordinary place I stitch.
I love to stitch in my sunroom where there are 9 large windows to look out. I also have tons of plants all over the room.
I like to stitch on the sun porch (glassed in screen room) because the light is so good and I can see my stitching very well.
Hi Pat….i love to stitch in my porch swing…with a cup of coffee….listening to our little family of wrens going in and out of their birdhouse. So peaceful!!
My favorite place to do needlework is the deck of our beach house overlooking the water. It sounds like that isn’t unusual but it sure is nice.
Volksmarch came to the US with returning American GIs. There are clubs all over the country and I have been on several Volksmarches. They now award pins rather than medals.
My favourite place to stitch is under my Acer tree, it is so peaceful and makes a wonderful calming noise as the breeze blows through the leaves.
My favorite place to stitch when I’m not on my comfy couch, is in the car, especially on long trips! I can get so much done! I love it!!!
My favorite place to stitch is where-ever my best quilting buddy is.
Anyplace is my favorite place, I just need to find the time!
My favorite place recently was on a screened porch in the mountains when we were on vacation recently. I have also cross stitched in a hospital waiting room.
I stitch on my front porch glider, I celebrated the first day of summer by sitting there stitching until 9:25pm!!!
I need my HaloGo light to stitch. I have a great setup so I can stitch on our couch or one of the recliners. Not usual, but works best for me.
I love to stitch in my car when on a long trip and someone else is driving. I sit in the back seat real comfy with pillows and a soft quilt and have snacks and a drink
My favorite place to quilt is my unfinished basement. It is nice and cool there and I have plenty of lights for brightness. I also have a TV there to keep me company.
I like to cross stitch anywhere and everywhere. But, my favorite is the warm sunny deck on a quiet morning.
Oh Pat! I stitch everywhere I get enough time to pull it out and set up – airports, doctor’s offices, retreats… I have an “on the go” project that is small and easy to carry. It is a conversation starter. There is always one or two people who are curious about what I am doing!
My favorite place to do cross stitch is in a condo in Gulf Shores Alabama during the winter season as I live in Michigan!
I really enjoy stitching while I’m in the middle of no where.. up in the mountains where it’s me and the sounds of nature
I like to stitch on my back porch and my favorite chair in the living room, next to good lighting.
‘Where is your favorite place to stitch that is out of the ordinary?’ Nothing exotic! In my single dwelling, sitting on my padded chair at my old “Dad’s desk” turned into a cutting station. I have two Ottlites that can shed light on my work (mine eyes have limits) as well as a lighted LED magnifier – ah ha, perfect sight! Needle and thread to design…
I did a Volksmarch in the Black Hills of SD up onto the arm of the Crazy Horse monument. Thank you for the reminder of the wonderful time I had that day. I touched Crazy Horse’s face! I also have a medal and I treasure it, as I am sure you do yours.
I am new at cross stitching, and I would enjoy working on it in my living room when watching or listening to a movie or tv show.
I stitch every Wednesday with my quilting friends at our local Senior Center. I should say a little bit of stitching and a whole lot of talking. LoL.
Like to stitch at my kitchen table listening to YOU every morning! With a cup of coffee, of course!
My favorite place to stitch is in my great aunt’s rocking chair that is in my new bedroom. I have made myself a cozy corner to do just handwork.
My favorite place to stitch is on my front porch at sunset. It’s beautiful and refreshing! I have been known to stitch in a car and in bed… but my front porch is my favorite!
I love to stitch in the passenger seat of our motorhome, going anywhere!
Car repair shop yesterday. Can’t say it is a favorite place, especially after getting the $947 bill, but seem to spend lots of time there. Thanks for a chance.
When I use to cross stitch I would stitch in the van while waiting on my kids when I took them for band or sports practice, and also when we went on road trips. I have some UFO’s that I need to get out now that I am retired.
Most unusual would have been in college when I had a job to answer the phone and make sure the snack drawer was full—my boss actually told me to bring me something to do. Only time I got paid while I cross stitched for 3 weeks one summer.
Evening while watching TV
I like to bring my stitching with me on vacation. You never know when you will have a rainy day. We were in Florida for 6 weeks and had an extra bedroom, so that was my stitching place. I could watch a tutorial and follow right along.
My favorite place to stitch isn’t out of the ordinary, its on my chair in front of the tv. My husband and I sit together every evening and watch tv and that is where i love to stitch. Relaxing and my sweetie loves to comment on how i can never just sit and watch tv.
I like to stitch on my back patio. Not extraordinary but comfortable for me when it not hot or windy.
I love to stitch sitting in my back yard watching the birds visit my feeders.
Not so unusual, but I like to stitch out on my deck
When I was clerk on the library bookmobile, I stitched while going from place to place. Thank you for your inspiration and love.
Stitching outside on my covered patio while listening to the sounds of birds and children playing, amid my flowers, trees and my dog = instant relaxation. During the cold, winter months I have a peaceful corner of my house with many green and flowering plants by a large bow window where I recline with scented candles burning and a project in hand.
I like to stitch at my desk so I can watch sewing and cross stitch videos on YouTube while I stitch.
Stitching on my back deck is my favorite place to be during the nice weather. Your video inspired me to get back to my cross stitching! Thanks you.
