**Block Wed – Ode to the National Parks **

This week we talk about 'size' of parks. And I have a nifty 'hack' to help you when you run into a fabric 'snaful'

Below is my fun 'hack' for the block. You of course can cut a Large TRIANGLE from your smaller cut, be mindful of the BIAS edges and be sure to include you SEAM ALLOWANCE.  My hack is a fun way to do the block and use smaller pieces of fabric!

Use this nifty finder for the National Parks in your state!   https://www.nps.gov/index.htm

I'm am making 2 quilts, One with Gratitude and Grace, the other with Shoreline! Fun fun!

  1. why cant i find the cutting and sewing directions for block 2 od osw to national parks only for narrow p
    iece of fabric? help please

  2. I got my EQ8 last January, but had EQ2–!!!– back in the day. Then “work” happened and I left quilting til retirement, which is now. Yay!
Would love to have the EQ8 booklet on what to do with panels. So much to catch up on since I was away from quilting for 20-ish years.
    Love your blog, website, videos!!
(PS we also pronounce the candy as “guuummy bears”… it’s the only correct way! LOL)

  3. I’ve had EQ8 about 6 months? I got it with the Dear Jane add-on and am making 6″ blocks with it (rather than 4″). I’ve modified and saved PDF’s of all the blocks and have sewn row A!
I also have 5 or 6 panels to make quilts from. I have Stonehenge (that’s an oldie!), Nat’l Park panels and postcards (3×4″ mini panels) and one of Split Rock lighthouse. I tried using EQ8 to design a panel quilt once but I haven’t mastered the software yet, I could use some help, that’s for sure!

  4. Love the show today. I enjoy using EQ8 to manipulate my patterns. Sometimes I copy the pattern into EQ8 and sometimes I do my own. I once did a panel baby blanket. It would be so much easier with a book to learn a good way to do it. Thank you for your channel. I love it
