  1. Husband has been fighting Leukemia and life hasn’t been the same the last 3 months. His type is treatable and he’s in remission, treatments continue to make sure he keeps the disease at bay!
I need a project like a scrappy quilt. My brain is screaming for creativity right now!
    Thank you!!!

  2. when I finish a project I take all the pieces that are less than a fat quarter and cut them up into 2.3, 3, 3.5, 4, and 5 inch squares. thay are stored on a book case nest to my sewing table in shoe boxes so that they ar available for instant use. cant wait for Traffic Jam. just printed it out. cant start until after Christmas Eve as I have 4 generations in my house for then.. 75 years old (me) to 4 months old (my Great Granddaughter. YEA!!!!!

  3. chain piecing is super easy. set up your square in set right sides facing and stack them next to your machine. Take the first set and sew them. DO NOT CUT THREAD. feed the next set in and sew again. keep soing this and soon you will have all the sets done anad ready for the nest step!!!!

  4. Pats sew alongs are beginner friendly. She has clear instructions and pictures to go with them. Just take your time and work each step in order and you will learn to square up at each step so your final unit will be the right size. see you there!!!!!

  5. I need something easy after all the stress of the holidays. I will be ready to start this have lots of squares already cut up and waiting!

  6. Would it be possible to get some tips on chain piecing the squares for Traffic Jam? There must be an organized and fast way to do this 😊

  7. Looking forward to both! I already was cutting 2.5” squares after your post or video about busting scraps.👍👍

  8. Oh wonderful! I have a ton of 2.5” squares used for leaders/enders & lots of scraps from the FQS SALs so I’m ready! Thank you Pat!

  9. Dear, Gail,
I have the same problem here, the scraps are multiplying faster than I can make tope. Made five tops in Sept and Oct of this year and the basket is still just as full, What’s up?

  10. Perfect! I’ve wanted to make Traffic Jam for a while, hopefully this will be the jump start I need to do it!

  11. Got tons of scraps so I’ll be cutting them into the 2.5″ and 4.5″ squares. Looking forward to this as it should free up some drawer space getting rid of all those scraps! lol Can’t wait!

  12. I can’t wait. I have a big box of odd size scraps. I’ve already taken out all the ones that can be cut into 2.5″ squares. Between now and the end of the year, I’ll be cutting away.

  13. I’m excited. Can’t wait to use up some of the many 2.5″ squares I have cut. I have spent the last 2 weeks off and on sorting my scraps so I am ready! Thank you for all you do. I never have a question about a pattern – they are well written!

  14. What fun! Can’t wait to get started on Traffic Jam and the BOM as well as the BOW. Thank you so much for all you do for us!!!!

  15. Looking forward to the Traffic Jam quilt…I have lots of scraps to use. I’ll be behind because we will be on vacation when it starts.
I think I’ll do the childhood games one along with some other sew a longs you did but didn’t sew along. LOL

  16. Laura, look for the pink highlighted words that read “Download pattern.”
Blocks are 2.5″ square and 4.5″ square.

  17. I was reading about the Childhood Games sew along, I’m barely making my blocks square or my whole quilt for that much. When you say different size blocks makes me a little nervous. Do you really think it will be beginner friendly? Thank you.

  18. I am so happy to join in on the Traffic Jam Sew Along. When I was tidying up in November, I found a ‘zillion’ 2.5 inch squares for a mystery quilt from our quilt guild that I never finished. I pledge to use them up in January.

  19. Like Kim, I tidied with Pat and cut odd shapes into squares that I now have something to do with. This will be fun.

  20. So proud of myself. I began cutting all of those extra scraps into 2.5 inch squares. I now have enough that I feel like I can join this fun sew along. I am feeling organized! I am looking forward to 2020!

  21. I’ve been sewing green scraps together for awhile to make Traffic Jam. This sew-along will give me the kick I need to get it finished!

  22. I love scrappy quilts. I have been trying to use my scraps. I have made 4 or 5 scrappy quilts and my pile just gets bigger. Maybe they multiply in the dark.

  23. This will be nice as I have some scrapes from two of your quilt alongs!! Looking forward. We may be traveling but will try to keep up. Thank you!

  24. I can hardly wait for Traffic Jam” I have been cutting my scraps into 2 1/2 squares on my Go Big for weeks now. I am so ready.

  25. I can’t wait for traffic jam I have lots of scraps! I’ve got my fabric for Out West sew along Bow
My favorite thing is my rotary cutters if I had to cut only using scissors I would not have anything done

  26. My prayers have been answered. I always use my 2 1/2 squares for leaders and enders. Now I can use them. Thanks Pat. P.S. Thanks for using Olisio for a sponsor. I LOVE my new iron.

  27. Plan to finish up some project and clean sewing room so I am ready to start on the traffic jam quilt along. It looks like so much fun. This will be my first quilt along.

  28. All of it sounds awesome! I’ve been wanting to make a Traffic Jam quilt. It’s always more fun for me to sew with your group. I’m really excited for the BOW and the BOM. Thank you for all you do!

  29. So happy for the coming new year and your ideas make it great! The traffic jam sounds like fun (and easy). Can’t wait for them all. Sewing room cleaned up and ready to quilt!!

  30. Making a Traffic Jam isn’t making a new project, it’s finishing several old ones…right? LOL. Kinda like calorie free because it’s Christmas time! I’m ready to sew!
