2018 In the Summer Time!

Summer Time activities and memories are so sweet, and there is no better time than winter to keep pull out all our warm summery thoughts and stitch them into a quilt.

Each week we’ll sew a block and celebrate a Summer Time activity.  It might be Old traditions, New Traditions, songs, favorite foods, or memories of childhood summers that pop up over the twenty weeks we sew together.

At the end we’ll have a wonderful Quilt full of yummy memories just in time to celebrate Summer!

I’m using a set of fabrics from Art Gallery many are designed by my friend Amy Sinabaldi!

The Fat Quarter bundle is called Charleston and I love the images, the colors, that juicy redish pink, the awesome navy.. splash in a little gold and green and away we go for the summer!   Details are after the supply list download

  1. I’m in!!! I have learned so much from you and enjoy reading every ones stories that are related to the block of the week. I’m already pulling fabric for this (mainly from the first quilt I made my son) It was an adventure quilt and this one will be about our summer outings so it will be his quilt…or maybe I’ll keep it in the living room! 😉

  2. Oh Pat! You’ve got me excited about this upcoming project. I have eyed this Charleston fabric for awhile, the colors are so exciting! You inspire me every day. I sewed my Splendid sampler quilt and am working along with you on the Be My Neighbor quilt with the same Christmas fabric that you are using. Working on these quilts helped me get through the tough times taking care of my 93 yr old mother who has since passed away. I looked forward to your emails with the new quilt block. Thank you Pat for ALL you do for us.

  3. Question is this mystery quilt in addition to the camping one you are going to start or the same one? I am confused.

  4. Looking forward to playing with in the summer time……I live in the tropical north and love to piece…..however the need for quilts here is maybe 5 days a year if we are lucky……..I have used lots of my block to make table runners…..I would love to continue with your challenges but would love some fresh inspiration for what to use them for…….I have been contemplating a series of framed blocks for my sewing room!!!!! All suggestions gratefully received…..thanks Jan

  5. You have the fun-est stuff. I’m printing them up. Hopefully 2018 is the year to sew Thank you for your fun posts and inspiration.

  6. Thanks Pat! I love your page, so organized! Hopeful to do one of your challenges. Life needs to slow down a bit around my house so I can get back to the sewing room. I follow you even when I cannot sew, you keep me inspired! Thanks for all you do!
