  1. My favorite bags for storage are clear plastic draw string ones. One of the local shops uses them for your purchases. I have, also, purchased on of the mesh one with the hopes of cross stitching on it but, as Pat knows all too well, life happens. I like the fact that the mesh ones “breathe”.

  2. My favorite bags are 1-come from a vacation or special activity, and 2-have pockets inside and outside when used for carrying lots of different items. I just got one of the FQS mesh bags for my cross stitch project, inspired by watching your videos. Prayers for you and your family as you navigate through these changes.

  3. I love organization tools and project bags and I’d be really delighted if I was able to be the winner!

  4. I love tote bags for most anything I need to carry, and I love small zippered bags for quilting supplies. Please take care of yourself, Pat, and big hugs for you and your family.

  5. My favorite bag is a tote bag I made with my word of the year a few years ago. It says “DO” to (a)remind me to quit overthinking everything and just DO it, (b) to DO good in the world, and (c) that I can DO hard things.

  6. I love two kinds, the mesh b/c it allows my project to breathe and printed/clear vinyl if my project has to be easily distinguished or has bits that might poke out of the mesh bags. Love that I can have specific projects tucked and ready to go in bags

  7. While I love all kinds of bags, my favorite are the mesh ones. The yellow, hexi bag is great, cause it’s big and can carry a quilt!

  8. I love the ones made of fabrics – cottons, canvas or upholstery fabrics…. some I have made, some friends have made for me! I enjoy the pockets inside and on the outside!
Prayers for you and your family. Enjoy the moments you get to be with Mom and things that you do together!
Wishing you peace and blessings. Cheers to you and “Thank You” for all the amazing things you do!

  9. I love project bags that zip. I found clear ones with a grid pattern in different colors on Amazon during covid. They came about 10 sizes in one package and I ordered two sets. They never arrived so Amazon told me to order them again, which I did and received them. Then about four months later the original set of two ended up on my doorstep! They didn’t want them back so I had a nice surprise and some to share with friends 🙂 So I guess free bags are also my favorite!

  10. Pat, be sure to make time for yourself! I love to make bags. My favorites are pouches and crossbodies. I HATE binding in bags!

  11. I like canvas bag when traveling and shopping. Mesh zipper bags for keeping my projects all together. I hope your days get better. I have been caretaker for 2 family members and you will find things get better and more in order. Prayers for you and your family

  12. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your sweet mother. My favorite bags are those that my friend made for me to tote projects to and from our group sew days.

  13. Bags!! I am addicted to all kinds of bags ! Can’t ever have enough. I make them for myself and give them away!!

  14. I am a bag lover!! I love them, l make them and l use them a lot. My favorites are square or wide rectangle ones with pockets inside. I carry sewing, crochet and needle felting projects in them.

  15. Once upon a time I subscribed to a monthly skincare/makeup organization which I loved and the best part was the arrival of the samples in the nearest little bags! I also love to purchase the reusable grocery bags from everywhere and use them for everything! Eco friendly!!
I love the content that you bring to this community and please know that I have such respect and compassion for what you and your family are doing to help one another. Here’s to the energy you need to care not only for others but also yourself.

  16. I love all kinds of bags. I mostly love the bags that I make. I embroider on them. I have all kids of them.

  17. My favorite bag is one that I made from squares given to me during the first MO shop hop a few years ago. I designed it, not knowing what I was doing and it turned out great!!!

  18. It is a bag where I collected my scraps, sewed them all together, then cut them into five inch squares and then made a bag. It is very colorful and happy.

  19. My favorite bag is a quilted tote that I made 20 years ago. Lots of pockets inside and out and it is VERY imperfect 😉
However every time I use it I am reminded of how I improve with each, quilt or
    project that I tackle.
Thank you for all of the tips and things that I have learned from your videos.

  20. I like my bags big and with a zipper so I can carry my knitting projects with me, especially if I am working on a sweater or bigger. I miss your videos but I am very glad you get to spend this time with your mom. I hope her health improves and things go better for her.

  21. I have a few of these bags and I use them ALL the time. Hugs to you Pat. You are doing the right thing.

  22. I love the mesh bags along with totes I have accumulated over the years. I take bags to retreats for my several projects.

  23. I don’t have many bags for sewing. I do have one zipper bag for taking a project to sew with friends. This mesh bag looks really nice. And I would love those items that are in it as well.
What a blessing for your mom that you and your siblings can care for her at this hard time in her life.

  24. I like the premade mesh bags and I also like my own project bags with a mesh front, a by Annie pattern.

  25. I have different project bags and the FQ shop bags are really nice. I also love my Container store bags as they are clear and strong. I like the ones I have made too! The more the better!

  26. I love all kinds of bags, and use them for everything. One of my favorites is a tote bag I made with some cute corduroy fabric with dachshunds on it that I had for years. Thinking of you and your Mom and hope that she feels better and all goes well with getting her settled.

  27. My favorite bags are clear bags. I love them because I can see in them and I know exactly what’s there when I need it. Thank you Pat for all you do for all of us. And hopefully now everything slows down for you now that you’re getting your mom settled in.

  28. I have a bag for each responsibility I have….a Bag for Sunday School, my TOPS group, Hospital volunteer and a bag to carry in the car for short trips. And, yes, I have been known to grab the wrong bag for the wrong meeting!

  29. My Mom taught me to make bags when I was in high school. They were required and we had fabric and not much money. My Granddaughters were doing projects together and both are crazy about dogs so I made them each one with some cute perfect fabric with dogs in them. I left one side visable with clear vinyl and they were a big hit. I learned a lot working with clear plastic and taught them how to work with it too. My own bags have mesh on one side and boxed bottoms, useful for so many things.

  30. My favorite bag is the one I made from leftover pieces of the quilt I made for my grandson but I love all kinds Blessings to you and your family.

  31. Thanks for your sharing your talents with the community, you provide so much expertise and encouragement to many people who have all different levels of experience. I’m new to your site and enjoying all of it! Are there really enough bags? Can’t say what is the best for me, but I can’t resist canvas tote bags. Not only use them for storage and shopping but I also make pillows and journal covers and other projects from them! We appreciate the opportunity.

  32. Hi Pat what a busy lady you are. Helping your mom is a act of love for you. I love bags smaller one to put things of sewing supplies. They come in handy when ready for retreat or just doing hand sewing at home.

  33. My favorite bags are the ones that I have purchased that are seasonal themed so I then put in my cross stitch projects that go along with the bag. I do love the mesh bags that Fat Quarter Shop has too.

  34. My favorite bag is one I made using tartan plaids while on a trip to Scotland. I love to make something to tennis me off a trip I’ve taken. I also just returned from a trip to Montana and purchased a pattern and sine fabrics there and made a wall hanging that will always remind me of that trip.

  35. Thanks for the update on your current situation. I do know from personal experience how difficult it is to help our aging parents. My favourite bag to make is the retreat bag by Emmaline Bags. They go together so easily and are great for toiletries, sewing tools and everything else. And so many variations are possible!

  36. My favorite bags are larger vinyl project bags with just a zipper along the top. I have several by Lori Holt..!

  37. My favorite bag is one I made using some log cabin/pineapple blocks that I loved. I put pockets in it – love pockets!
I just want to say that many of us emphasize with your life right now. I had my mom living with me until her advanced dementia put her into a secure facility. It was hard when my mom knew who I was, but thought I was her mom. She introduced me to the nurses as her mom. It made sense because I had taken care of her for a long time. Anyway, we can relate and certainly understand this phase of your life. Do what you need to do for your mom and yourself right now. We’ll be here.

  38. I love a good decorative bag! I have a fat quarter bag pattern I just keep making, but I also pick up bags with zippers to keep projects in!
My thoughts are with you on this journey and I love that you are making the most of your time with your mom!

  39. My favorite bag was a free pattern and I used summer fabrics and made the gals at water aerobics bags and sunglasses cases for swim class

  40. I love bags with COLOR! Will be making some as gifts for coworkers soon. Pat, please MKE time for yourself. You can’t help your mama if you aren’t well. Hugs and prayers for you!

  41. I do like all kinds of bags, but my favorite are the project bags I’ve made with a clear vinyl front for seeing what’s inside.
Good luck maneuvering through this family phase of your life.

  42. My favorite bag is my Tom Petty bag I got a few years ago. It is great for overnight or even throwing a few things in for a day trip… And it shows everyone how much I love Tom Petty!

  43. My favorite bags hold my knitting projects; they are big enough for yarn, project, needles & accessories. (made by the “fat squirrel”)

  44. My favourite bags are the ones I have made with quilt patterns & big enough to hold the current project be it quilting or knitting. Love your videos. Happy summer & I hope your mom is home soon.
