My favorite bags have zippers or magnetic snaps.
I like having lots of colors and sizes, too.
I love the mesh bags from Fat Quarter Shop because you can personalise them with a cross stitch pattern.
I love project bags and have several. A bag for knitting socks, another bag for my crocheted shawl in progress. I have quite a few for cross stitch wips. And of course one for hand applique blocks and another for quilt as you go hexies. You could call me a ‘bag lady’s. 😆
Like Denise, I, too, like the large zippered lightweight bags similar to those shown for my embroidery supplies. Easy to grab for a trip to appointments with my husband so I have something to keep my hands busy while I wait for him. Actually I have bags inside bags – hehehe. A small bag for my thimble(s), needle case and tatting shuttle; a larger bag with a see-through outer pocket for my small scissors, nail file, band aids, lip balm; inside that bag is my project, thread, pattern instructions. The main large bag holds my hoop, my neck light and charger, cell phone and phone charger if needed.
I love all kinds of bags. I just use large project bags to keep my piecing fabric, pattern, and backing in one place until I can make it; that way I don’t “borrow” anything from it for another project, lol. I have also made many small zipper bags and tote bags too, so fun and useful too.
Bless you and your mom, wishing you all the best
I do love the plaid project bags from FQS, as they are perfect for storing current projects or those I take with me to AZ for the winter months. I do use varied totes from Vera Bradley, or others I have collected, for transporting quilts to the long armer or for larger projects and supplies. Thank you, Pat, for keeping us updated and I’m sending thoughts and prayers your way!
A dear friend of mine began buying for me a series of shopping bags which she found in her local supermarket. They each have a different design on them and are incredibly cute to look at!. At first I wasn’t sure what to do with them, but now I make great use of them to hold the fabrics of individual projects that I am working on. They’re so convenient for keeping projects contained & protected. As I sew, I think of my friend 💕
I love all types of bags. Reusable grocery bags, 31 bags, and all sizes of the mesh bags for cross stitch and quilting projects.
My favorite bags are the ones with projects inside them! No matter how many times I look inside, I am always surprised to see what is inside. Now, aside from that, I like the sewn bags that so many are doing these days. I love the single quilt block (be it a picture, quilt block, whatever) on the outside.
My favorite bags are the quilted bags I make for gifts for our grandkids teachers. We fill them with items that match the fabric.
I am a bag lady. I like all bags. I haven’t made one yet but plan to make a project bag. Great video today. Life happens and we all just have to push through and go on. It has been a roller coaster for me as well. I can definitely relate. Some days are much harder than others. The quilting helps clear my mind. Especially if music plays in the background. Please take time for yourself too. Whenever you’re able and ready to film more videos your loyal fans will be waiting. I still rewatch your videos. I have learned a lot from you. I will keep your mom in my prayers. Treasure your time with her. Wishing you brighter days.
I am a collector of all bags…..i have a large collection, but I have not purchased a bag from Fat Quarter Shop. This one looks perfect for a project bag! In my collection of various kinds of bags, I have tote bags with lots of pockets inside and outside to use to cart supplies to and from sewing groups. I have zippered pouch bags that I have made in the hoop with my embroidery machine. I have lots of miscellaneous bags that I have collected from various places that I have visited. They are all my favorites. And I could love this one too! And yes, Pat I totally understand there is a difference between being “tired” and being “exhausted”. They can be totally different! Just be patient, things will level out and you will at some point look back on this time as something really special. I went though a similar time with my parents. I would watch your YouTube videos every morning and would see the sign in your sewing studio, “WE CAN DO HARD THINGS” and I would feel, yes, I can do this one day at a time. I would not ever want to trade those days for anything else. You are needed for this purpose right now. We all can wait until you have more time!
Fat quarter shop mesh bags are my favorite project bags. Big enough to hold all the bits and pieces without being so big they are too cum er some. Love them!!
Hi pat I make my own project bags with a quilted back and a clear vinyl front . Bioth my mom and I love these bags
I like the fat quarter shop bags, they are a plastic mesh, very useful in sewing room.
I recently acquired one of the large mesh bags from Fat Quarter Shop, after I had seen how Pat stored her on-going projects in them, nice and tidy. Looking forward to purchasing more when the opportunity presents itself. Love them!
My favorite bags are tote bags.
Hugs and prayers for you and your mom.
Caregiving is a daily challenge.
My favorite bag is a vinyl front small bag that I made over 5 years ago. My mom used it when she was in the hospital, nursing home and at home for lip balm, gum, tissues, etc. After she died 5 years ago I use it daily for the same thing. I think I’m going to have to make a new one though as it is starting to fall apart. 😿
My prayers are with you and your family during this time. 🍄
Bags, bags, favorite bags…I’m a bag lady from way back! Bags are one of my favorite things to have…mondo bags, fat quarter bags, handbags, my own design bags, shopping bags, drawstring bags, get the picture?…I’ve been eyeing those Fat Quarter Shop project bags for a while – I’d love to have one!
I love the big Tula Pink bags. They hold bigger quilt blocks and all the extra fabric that I am using.
I love these mesh bags. I’d like to try cross stitching on these mash bags I also love the notion organizer and how handy that is my best to you, Pat I really feel for all you’re going through right now.
I love the mesh bags that I can put a project in until I get to start it. I have a shelf that I can put them on and they have a pocket to put the project name in so I can easily find the project when I’m ready to work on it. Take Care Pat, Gregg and family.
I have made two bags, so far. And I love them both. One is a large tote with six different pockets inside. I use it all the time. The other is a large project bag with a vinyl front. I am anxious to make more and different styles.
I send love to you and your family. As you said it is a stage of life experience. All you can do is give your Mom all the love and help that you can manage. Sometimes it takes a great deal of patience as well. As for family, Be kind to one another. You will feel better about this afterwards with fewer regrets. Take care of yourself.
Thanks for all you do for us, Pat!
I have several heavy duty, clear, zippered project bags with an outside pocket that also zips. It is so convenient to be able to see what is in the bag and grab the project or garment I want to work on next. The handles enable me to hang them on a hook for easy storage and viewing.
Blessings on you and your mother as you walk through this new phase of life. I am also in this stage with both my parents. Things really do settle down.
My favorite bags are project bags to keep all my projects and patterns together till I get to them! A friend has been making some that I bought and in May our quilt guild had a class at our LQS to make our own. So fun but a little challenging getting the strap turned right and into the binding just so! Thanks for any videos that you do. We miss you and will be waiting when you can return!
I love all types of bags, in all sizes, in all colors, and all fabrics!
I like all kinds of bags, but the mesh ones make great project bags. Prayers for you and your Mom.
I like all kinds of bags! My favorite bags to make are small bags using fat quarters or scrap fabric. I especially enjoy a small bag with a strap long enough to go over by shoulder or cross body – just big enough for essentials and not much else.
My favorite bags are the ones I have bought on vacation at the grocery stores in Europe. They bring back great memories.
I love Minki Kim’s Allover Project bag. I’ve made two small ones. They open up so you can see everything inside.
My favorite bags are the large project bags with the see through vinyl.
Prayers for your family. Take time for your coffee breaks.
I’ve used anything from sandwich bags to store bags to mesh bags. I’ll admit I like the mesh bag for cross stitch.
My favorite bags are clear ones. I have saved several from the projects they came in but a big ziplock bag will do in a pinch.
My favorite bags are the reusable ones I got while making a purchase at my local quilt shop Quilted Oak Leaf in Dowagiac Michigan. I bring it with me every time I return to buy more fabric!
Hi Pat, enjoyed your video. My favorite bag is lori holt zipper bags. My sister and I enjoyed sewing them together. I like the mess ones too from FQ Shop. The colors are very pretty. Just wanted to share my thoughts and prayers with you and your family. You take care and keep rested yourself. SO easy for a caretaker to be so focused on taking care of family that they ignore themselves. Thanks as always for the time you share with us, see you later
I love mesh zippered bags for projects. For shopping I love bigger tote bags. And I am in love with seed tote bags and will make one soon to carry quilts back and forth to the people who need the quilts and the bags. They are noisy though. Thinking of you this summer. Hugs.
I love the mesh bags for projects. I am sorry for what you are going through through. I took care of my parents and dealt with a lot of this. Dad had afib. Mom had a heart transplant. Lots of stuff in between too. I lost them 5 weeks apart in 2014. It’s a lot to handle. Try to take care of you too
My favorite bag is the one I made for me and my four sisters when we went to Hawaii.
My prayers are with you and your family. This is a hard time to go through. I wish your Mom the best of care and a swift recovery. I love my bag I carry to work everyday (don’t know if I can say the name but I will, it’s a TimBuk2 bag). I’ve had it for many, many years!
I have a favorite bag for season including baseball season. Baseball season is my favorite.
My favorite bags are the ones my granddaughter has just recently made! She just started sewing and I love seeing how excited she gets when she makes something. She’s done so well and she has made several tote bags for her family! Thank you, Pat Sloan for this giveaway❤️
I’m addicted to the tote bags sold at Cracker Barrel. I seem to have more that the law should allow. And, anytime I go there and see a new one, I feel it is my “duty” to purchase it. Funny thing is, I have UFO’s in them to keep everything together.
I just bought my first Lori Holt project bag. I’m excited to do the cross stitch pattern as it’ll add to the overall design. . The bag is a great size too for projects! Pat, sending prayers for you and your family during this transition with your mom. What a gift to have her close and how amazing for her to have such loving children by her side. Thank you for sharing your journey with us out here in virtual land.
I haven’t used any special bags for projects but have used zip lock bags for quilt blocks to keep pieces together. I have made a lot of zipper bags for cosmetics and purses and dopp kits I donated to the Salvation for Christmas presents. Bless you and your family always.
Love Doreen
My favorite bag is whatever tote I have that will accommodate the quilt project I’m taking or dealing with at the time. I have several canvas totes in a variety of sizes that I’ve been given over the years. I do use mesh bags for my cross stitch though, which tend to be smaller projects so they work great.
My favorite bags are the ones I have made. By Annie are my favorites
My favorite bag for quilt projects is any handmade fabric tote – as it holds most everything I need for a project. Thanks for offering this giveaway along with Fat Quarter Shop. I’m praying for you, your mom and the rest of your family as you settle into new living arrangements. Please take care!
I love a clear vinyl style bag that zips at the top so I can see what project is inside.
Hoping the days ahead are better for you and your mother.
My “go-to” bag is a simple shopping bag pattern I got from my quilt shop.
