  1. I sometimes fudge the scant quarter inch seam. I am also guilty of not reading directions before diving in.

  2. I have tops made years ago which just need a binding. Sometimes I look at them and tell myself to finish, but it has not happened yet. Pins in the mouth occasionally.
As for the playground: the swings are my absolute favourite. Even now I can’t resist them when I am at the playground with my grandchildren. Does that look silly at 72? I don’t care.

  3. I put pins in mouth until I remember not to and then I stick in shirt. I try to leave some on blocks when I have them laid out on floor, my design wall. I love to make quilt tops but don’t enjoy quilting them, but I do finally get them quilted. I’m just a few behind. I also have blocks that are not together as tops; another confession. I do write down monthly goals which really help. I started many time writing down what I make, but that has stopped. Enough for today.

  4. After being told of that horrifying experience that Lady had on Facebook from swallowing a pin, I have been trying not too put pins in my mouth, but I still catch my self doing it.
I also end up with so many small pieces of fabric, that I actually get over run with them… really need help doings better!
I also cut out a few patterns ahead and don’t get back to them as soon as I would like.
I think that is enough confessing for now!

  5. Grandmother taught me to sew when I was 10. I guess I didn’t learn from her to put pins in my mouth because both grandmother and mother always told me not to. Yet I still do. On Facebook a few years ago a lady told of her horrifying experience swallowing a pin. I swore I was done! Nope, still doing it, for 57 years.

  6. My true confession is that once I start a quilt by cutting it out I have to finish the quilt in a day or two. I know I am crazy. I also give myself a goal of finishing something every time I sew. My friends pick on me and always ask me what is your goal today?
I am away from home right now but I have my list of what I need to sew when I get home.

  7. I feel so much better when my cutting table is cleared and clean. My confession is that it only lasts a short time before there are piles accumulating again. I need to do better at putting things away before starting something else.

  8. !st confession: Started documenting with my very first quilt; then moved; camera went awry; don’t know how to transfer over cell phone pics..now projects are listed on MANY post-it notes! So sorry I haven’t continued! 2nd confession: LOVE everything about starting quilts; love fades when I arrive at sandwiching; therefore, many UFOs!

  9. When I am free motion quilting, I do not pull my bobbin thread to the top at the start. It is more trouble than it is worth. I check the back later.

  10. I still do the pins in the mouth. Most likely it is a forever thing. I tried awhile back to stop and was putting pins into my shirt. That did not go so well after sticking my self pretty bad.

  11. Called my friend from 1980s who taught Brownies and Girl Scouts with me and wished her happy birthday #71.
Confessing that I didn’t know how to sew 1/4 inch seams on my first quilting project and after I learned things sure did line up better!!!!
