**Background on Block Wednesday **

  • I design, write, create, and sew along with you USING a Bundle of Fabric, a background and then a border to finish it off.
  • My Wednesday sew alongs are a mystery filled with SIMPLE and FUN blocks. The block does not LOOK like what I'm talking about.
  • I make the block each week using the bundle, I don't know in advance what fabric goes where. My Free Wed sew alongs are not planned out in advance, I do them to be creative and have fun!  You can see all the prior ones HERE

  1. We used to play Heads Up 7Up in the classroom on rainy days. Played 4square, red rover and dodge ball at recess. Carrems (is that how you spell it) and tetherball too.

  2. I remember playing dodge ball and red rover when I was a child. Looking forward to another Wednesday sew along. Using a bundle I picked up from my favorite quilt shop here in town. Can’t wait til Wednesday.

  3. I’m looking forward to the games blocks. I always need a new challenge and your blocks are always so fun to do. The anticipation of what is coming on Wednesdays is part of the fun.

  4. Hi Pat, after being without electricity for the past 4 days because of the snow storm that is wrecking havoc with the rest of the states, it’s wonderful to be back in the online quilting world. So happy to catch up on your videos I missed. Getting ready to start the childhood games quilt, should be fun! 🙂

  5. My favourite game was red light green light. We could play it until the street lights came on and then we all had to go home.

  6. I really love these sew a longs. Especially, when we are all doing the same thing but our colors really make each one unique. I’ll have to hold off on starting anything more, we are going on vacation…… So looking forward to it. But, will be sad to not be able to make anything.

  7. Just ordered! I am back to quilting now that my kids are grown. I have been following the site for a few months but had a crazy fall / early winter and have been waiting for this! I received a new BabyLock for Xmas and am so excited. This is my first sew along. Thanks for the inspiration!!!

  8. I”m going to try to use some of my MANY fat quarters from my stash for this one, any suggestions on groupings of colors Pat? The bundle looks to me like a lot of green, blue, and red, with some touches of yellow and orange, would it be fair to say three basic colors with a couple more for pops here and there? Thanks for any advise you can offer Pat!

  9. I can hardly wait, I ordered my bundle plus extra yardage of jungle print for a border and my backing.

  10. try to make your bundle 1/3 light. 1/3 medium. and 1.3 darks . be sure to keep a variety in your squares by keeping them on a design (felt backed table cloth) wall so you can see the progression of the squares.

  11. ok lets go!!!!!! got traffic jam on the wall ready to do final piecing. picking out the fq bundle for childs play. woopee. alreasy got out west started to and one from ,y quilt shop. happy sewing!!!!!!!

  12. I can’t wait for this sew along! The fabrics are so fun!! I can’t afford the bundle so I’m using my “inherited” stash to pick some fun fabrics. Do you have suggestions on how to go about picking the fabrics? Sometimes with these mystery quilts I end up with too many darks, too many lights, or not enough multi color prints to get nice contrast and make the block pop. Any suggestions like number of multi colors, number of medium, dark and light?

  13. I can’t wait!!! I want to do more quilt alones or bom this year! I’ve only been quilting a couple years and have enjoyed the ones I’ve done so far!!!

  14. I can’t wait for this one 😊 Sorry Traffic Jam done been in hospital all 😡 will post it when I get up 😊 I’m so Excited for this one 💕

  15. Yay!!! I’m still sewing traffic jam and Out West, Blockheads 3 wwscrappy trip sew along and now GAMES WOOTWOOT just check the box D ALL THE THINGS !!!! Love you thanks for sharing with me!!

  16. Hi Pat, I also like the sew alongs however… 25 fat quarters sounds excessive for a lap size quilt. Will we really need that many? Thank you for your quilting advise and sharing.

  17. I just ordered the bundle! I was afraid they were going to run out. And I love the colors. This will be my first Sew Along and I am so excited!

  18. This is going to be so fun! I can’t afford the bundle, but I’m sure I have many bright fabrics in my stash.

  19. I love your sew alongs, but honestly I don’t know how you do it!?! I am sewing furiously to finish my traffic jam and ended up with enough squares to make a few quilts and here you are with another!
