For some reason I keep thinking that Christmas is in just a few days…. well.. according to the calendar I am NOT correct.. which many of you just backed away from the ledge didn't you?  You have a week.  Well to day on my video the Elves visited me so you will enjoy a little Christmas cheer along with our High Tea and sewing on the Duchess (my featherweight)

  1. Love your new fabric line that you used in the quilt. Also, ahhhh what a pretty Duchess. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

  2. Hi Pat, Just a thought,
If you take one of the straws from your coffee – trim it to the height of the spool and put it on the Duchess spool pin that should stop the wabbling.

  3. My twin sister and I made a family heirquilt with scanned family photos put in it. We made for ourselves and our older sister. We designed our quilt ourselves.

  4. Aurifil thread comes off the spool in a horizontal position and the Featherweight shop sells an inexpensive adapter which will solve your thread rattle issue.

  5. Pat, you are such an inspiration to so many of us. After you got the duchess, I went looking and treated myself to a 1938-221.
I made two quilts this weekend and it’s brought back so many memories. Now they are going off to the spa.
    Merry Christmas!

  6. Pat,
I was watching you sew on your Featherweight today! Beautiful machine! One thing though I’m not sure you realize. When the Featherweight is plugged in it is on ready to stitch, the switch is only to turn the light on and off, it does not turn the machine/motor on or off. So be sure and unplug your machine when not in use. Also there is a spring coil that you can put on your thread holder to go into your thread spool that helps it not to rattle so much, they are very inexpensive and the Featherweight Shop does sell them along with many other sewing machine supply stores.
I do most of my piecing on a Featherweight and I love using it! Have fun with yours!

  7. I made 2 Oh My Stars quilts for my twin grandchildren, Violet and Gibson (Happy Twin Day to them) and then made another for their sister (Hazel) who is my youngest grandchild. I am going to make one for me next to use on my sofa. Love this pattern!

  8. I have made two quilts with “Twin Sister” pattern. I gave one to each of my nieces who are not twins but close sisters.
