*** High Tea week 5!  ***

I have the 9 blocks done and need to pick a border fabric. Tell me at youtube comments which Drawing room border fabric you would use to finish off the 9 block.  It is 45" without the border. By adding the border it will be about 52" square for a Charity quilt.

Quilt Size: 75" x 75"

  1. I love watching your videos! I am hoping to do an Oh My Stars quilt. I would be thrilled to win either the iron or thread box!! Thanks.

  2. Entering for drawing
I use light gray for everything so far. But now that I have the ability to quilt my tops I want to branch out using colors. I just got a new Baby Lock and Cutie frame for Christmas. I’ve only been quilting for two years now and have about six to eight tops to quilt. So ready to start my first one.
Pat, almost every one of them have been from your quilt alongs. So thank you so much for being so great at what you do!!!

  3. I have both, I use neutrals for piecing and colors to match fabric when necessary. Love aurifil thread. Thanks for all these giveaways, so exciting

  4. I usually use a neutral gray thread for almost all my quilts but the oolors in kit look amazing. Im sure I can find many ways to use them.

  5. Congratulations on 10 years!
A new iron would be a game changer!
Love colors in thread – use neutrals a lot, but want the possibility of matching thread to fabric for appliqué.

  6. The latest Pat Sloan pattern I have done is Oh My Stars…currently in process.
Oliso irons……what a girl dreams of!!!
Love Aurifill threads, and what a cute storage box!!!

  7. Thread is eye candy for me, the more colors, the better. Brights and neutrals are my go to choices, I use pastel colors occasionally. I’m not a big fan of variegated, unless the colors are close in hue and value, otherwise there are pokies that show through from the bobbin thread, which I am not a fan of.

  8. I use neutrals for piecing, but I love the colorful thread for bindings and top stitching. Aurfil is a favorite because it seems lint-free.

  9. I do sew with neutral Aurifil thread colors. A whole box of neutrals would be so exciting! I love Aurifil thread!I did venture out this fall & try a variegated orange thread for quilting Halloween quilt. But neutrals are my go to.

  10. I would love the box of neutral Aurifil threads!! I love Aurifil! I have my neutrals that I use for piecing, but I love all the colors for everything else. Applique, quilting, adding some crazy patch stitching, etc… These are lots more fun with color.

  11. Thanks again Pat, for being so faithful with your work and sharing with us on Youtube. I would love to be a fly on the wall to observe all your wonderful quilts that you give away when they get to their homes. Oh, the blessings to the ones who receive them! That box of neutral Aurifil threads is wonderful! I would love to use them in my piecing, and I would! Thanks for the opportunity to try to be the winner. Happy 10th Anniversary again!

  12. I just started using Neutrals in 2023. I used to use white and then found that if my stitch length was not right, you would sometimes see the white on the colored fabric. Thanks for all that you teach us about quilting! You are definitely making me a more confident quilter!!

  13. I use neutral thread color because momma said so! Also because I’m literally mostly blind – but that won’t stop me! Thank you for the cheerful videos!

  14. I use mostly light grey or taupe when piecing. I love colors but save them for quilting or embroidery. I would like to try piecing with 50 wt. thread and see if that would help getting a good 1/4″ seam or better sew and flips.

  15. I use mostly neutrals. Love your videos – they motivate me to get things done. Thank you so much Pat.

  16. I use a lot of neutrals. On my crumb blocks though, I’m using up my more colorful partial spools. I love your videos, as they get my creative juices flowing! Thank you, Pat!

  17. I have made several of your quilt patterns and i think the last was childhood dreams. I inserted a row with 5 generations of our hands and used fabric reminding me of growing up in the 50’s and 60’s with 6 younger brothers and sisters. Your show has meant more to me than i can ever express.❤️

  19. I really want to win the Aurifil thread box. I use neutrals when piecing, but colours when quilting. Aurifil has to be ordered, no shops nearby keep it. Lovely threadbox. Love Annika

  20. I would love to win your thread box, I could certainly use it, because I am almost running out of thread. Last year I have been making the Harrisonburg quilt as well as the Barn Star Sampler. Like you I wanted the last one a bit bigger, so I made the strip of blocks on the right side twice and sewed one on the left. I Watch your video’s every weekday.

  21. Neutral thread – i love it – last QAL i did was the Witch’s Garden – but I made the Anniversary Block : )

  22. I would put a narrow border of the darkest print and then a scrappy pieced border of long rectangle of a variety of lengths from 5 to 8 inches with rectangles sewn end to end. It is a good way to use up the scrap pieces.

  23. For your HighTea quilt I would do a narrow border in one of the blues and then a wider border in black

  24. The last sew along I have completed is Summer Soirée. I hope to do Breakfast club, really looks like fun.

  25. The last Pat Sloan pattern I made was the March block a day quilt along 2023. I made the quilt with sea pattern fabric. I ended up donating the quilt to the Maui fire survivors through the quilt store in Maui.
Thank you for all you do.

  26. Hi Pat,
I have done a few sew alongside with you, Sweet Dreams, Chicken Salad and the newest one Breakfast Club. I really enjoyed all the sew alongs. Thanks for all you do! I also would like to be included in the Oliso Iron drawing.
    Thanks… keep up the fun!

  27. Hi Pat! I would like to add a white square to each star block to finish the look…so maybe the star black with a white square in the center for the first border followed by a border of blue.
