  1. As our kids were growing up we marked a little nick on the wall between the kitchen and dining room. It was a sad day when we had to wash the marks all off because we were moving. My daughter passed me when she was about 13. My son who was always the shortest boy in his grade growing up finally started growing in high school. He is now about 5’9′. Me, I’m still short at 5’2′ My granddaughter passed me in shoe size about 2 yrs ago and as of this past summer, she is now taller than me. She was only 10 at the time. I need to add that her Dad is 6’3″.

  2. Thank you so much for all the work you put into your sew alongs! These patterns and the layout is so detailed and greatly appreciated!πŸ’ž

  3. I use a scroll frame when working on my larger cross stitch pieces. When I need to move over it just rolls right up. I have never had a problem with it hurting the stitches and I have been cross stitching for almost 20 years.

  4. Hi
Loved the video above and your advice on the shading volutes of red fabric was a big help. As I’ve just caught up on the home quilt and got side tracked on the bueatiful hear quilt, can you gave me the name of this project, I’ve missed the start of this one.
    Thanks Andrea (uk)

  5. I forgot to say, we have a doorway from the back door entry into our kitchen, and one side of the frame has always been the measuring place for our eight grandchildren. We had the house remodeled about 12 years ago, and I insisted the contractor save that board, unpainted, and replace it. It was the final touch! It goes back almost thirty years!

  6. I’m enjoying this sew along so much. I’m trying to work on a UFO, but this one keeps calling me. The layout is wonderful! Thank you so much.

  7. We take a picture of our granddaughters and measure them with a piece of rick-rack.
We attach the picture to the rick-rack and hang them on a closet door. Then we can see what they looked like when they were that tall. They are also movable!

  8. This layout is so neat. Thanks for making these quilt blocks beginner friendly and yet somewhat challenging to teach me new tricks.

  9. I love the layout so much!! And I really like getting it early so I can start to visualize color placement and balance. Now I need to get my linky photos up! Glad you still use this, because I am really not enthusiastic about FB any more. It’s just too problematic for me.

  10. Hi Pat,
Unit one has an error. Cut instructions should say 4.5 X 16.5 inches not 1.5 X 16.5 inches.
    Marie

  11. We have heights marked in the hall at our cottage. Everyone is there at least once including dogs and if you look right down by the floor, stuffed animals.
I like the layout too. I was getting tired of a regular grid.

  12. I have pencil marks with initials and dates for my children and grandchildren in the doorway between the living room and dining room. Nobody better wash or paint that door frame!

  13. I never put my cross stitch in a frame to work. Not even a long one I did for my parents with their 9 granddaughters in a row.
Had to laugh remembering when my grandkids wanted to be taller than me until they realized that 5’2″ was not much of a goal!
