🏠 FREE SEWAlong – Home Is… Block #11

Happy St. Patrick's day! When everyone is just a little bit Irish.  Our last name 'Sloan' is from an Irish gentleman many years ago that emigrated to the United States. On my mom's side of the family are a few Irish families so I know how my grandma got her redhair, and fair skin 💚

I want to share my tiered basket up close, in my video today you'll see the room.

The tiny felt bunny on the top is Peter Rabbit made by my friend's mom years ago.  And the white bunnies belonged to my Great-Grandmother. I loved them so much as a child they gave them to me. My shamrock coaster is tucked in here too!

  1. I am not able to get Home Block #11 downloaded. It comes up when I click on your Download option, but when I click on my end to download it will not. It shows it in a different format other than PDF. Help please.

  2. I’m so glad to see your applique block. I loved all you funky applique and have loads of your patterns. They were what first got me into quilting.

  3. Happy St. Patrick’s Day, Pat! Thank you for the applique block! Your appliques are always nice, so doable, hope everyone makes this block, a perfect addition to “Home is….”

  4. Happy St Patricks Day! I found a copy of your Ireland book and just love it! We were in Ireland 2 years ago, and your book is a great reminder of the places we visited! Thanks for all you do!

  5. Pat-
Your block is just adorable and I had to laugh out loud about the doctor’s note for getting out of applique! Too funny! 🙂 I love your bonus project and I think your pink butterfly is just fine. I loved the pictures of your living room. The quilt on the chair with the big half square triangles was one I don’t remember seeing before. What is that pattern? You do make my day every day with your videos. Thanks for all of your encouragement. K-

  6. Super cute block this week. I’ll try the applique and see if I have any success. Those leaves are mighty small.

  7. Love the block this week. It will probably take me all week, as too much help from the live in twin toddler grandsons. I really want to do the little wall hanging, too. It is adorable! Love your little succulents down by the lowest tier on your tray. (Phoenix cactus loving girl here.)

  8. I am not allergic to hand applique–I have 2 large quilts to underscore that. Not too good with machine applique. I likely will do the tulips and butterfly by hand. Meanwhile I am trying to catch up with the blocks up to this #11. I love to garden and even though we live in a condo on the 10th floor I have two small garden spaces in back of the building I live in. Digging in the dirt is a wonderful stress reliever. Pretty flowers and delicious veggies are the rewards. I grew up on a farm–thus my love of growing things.

  9. I love that you have a alternate block for people with a Dr. Notes that are allergic to applique. That is priceless! I am one of those people, I just cannot hand sew anything.

  10. Thanks for the close up of the tiered tray – so cute! Bunny season. (I can’t take my eyes off the Easter candy.)
