I love the Blue Strike fabric. In fact, I have a layer cake that I’m using to make bowl cozies, pot holders, mug rugs, etc. I need a different fabric line for the quilt, which will go to my daughter. Something with dark reds such as burgundy, emerald green, and maybe some mauve. Can you suggest something that will work for this quilt?
Home is where you feel love and comfort. Family and friends give you both. Even when they live far away, the connection is there to feel the love!
A good blog is useful.

Love the block! Home is where I have lived for the last 30 years. What makes it a home is family.
I like this Block and want to follow along until June. How do I make sure I keep getting your blocks each week or was it each month? In the past I would find a block and then could never find the next one. I know I’m doing something where I lose these. I want to make all the blocks in the Home Is BOM. Thanks for any insight you can give me.
What a fun block. I always admire the house blocks in all quilts.
Love this block and can’t wait to sew it up! Home for me is anywhere my husband and 2 Shih Tzus are because my children, grandchildren and great grandchildren all live in different states. We live about 20 miles from Harrisburg, Pa.
I can’t wait to start my first block. This is my first quilt along, got the pattern downloaded, waiting on fabric I ordered. Thank you Pat for such a cute block.
Excited to make this my first quilting activity. I was thinking about what home is … it’s so much to me. My home is my haven, wherever my family is (especially with my 3 children and 3 pets), it’s my workspace, it’s my safe place, it’s my country (Canada) but also my country where I was born (Scotland). So many things.
I am looking forward to Morrison park fat quarter bundles to start the quilt.
Home for me has always been my family not a place or building. When I was a kid, we moved a lot. After I was married, my husband and I moved at the whim of the Army. We have been in our current home since my husband’s retirement from the Army for 11 years now: the longest I have ever lived in one place. I love the town we are in, but it still doesn’t feel like THE HOME! I think being a vagabond is what I am at heart.
I grew up moving around with my parents and brother. I have also lived in 9 states. We have been married 45 yrs in March and have lived in our current home for 25 of those years. We raised 2 children who both live fairly close to us with our 5 grandkids. I’ve loved house quilts and have one started, but have not made much progress. Too many other quilting distractions. I do plan to make this quilt and looking forward to seeing and making the rest of the blocks. I am thinking my quilt will be in blues also. My goal is to shop at home and use fabrics that are in my stash.
Do we need a building permit? Love the first block!
It has been several years since I have done a quilt with you. I am excited and hope to finish this one tomorrow. I also ordered your teach me to appliqué bookk
I have lived in our home for 52 years with my husband and where we raised our 3 children. We are two miles outside a small town with 50 acres, so I have lots of space to walk and snowshoe. Very lucky.
My home is cozy and peaceful with my husband and me. My parents still live in the home I grew up in. They’ve lived there since 1965.
First time doing a sew along. Excited and scared. Hope I can keep up. Need the creative outlet.
My current home is my happy place. Its a cozy ranch we have lived in for 37 years and raised our family here. I have lived in the same town for 52 of my 61 years. I love my little town of 1500 people.
Home to me is the home my husband and I built from the ground up. We began by clearing a spot out of five acres big enough to build a house we designed. Then the fun began, I say all my nails are the ones you can’t see, bent over. We did it all except for pouring the cement for the basement floor and patio and doing the brick work for our two free standing fireplaces, even did the plumbing and wiring. Have lived here for 41 years now.
Adorable block! I have not done a Wednesday quilt along, but I think I am doing this one seems sweet! Thanks Pat for your inspiration…
How fun! I love your 🏠
This is an adorable block.. Thank you
thank you so much, this looks like a fun quilt, your site has been a saver for me this past year due to my quilt guild had been shut down for several months, and your patterns have kept me occupied.

this looks like so much fun! hope to get started soon. thank you!!!
My feeling of home is where I grew up the first 15 years of my life. We lived on a farm in Berrytown, Pa. We had a big farm house and always loved it. I have lived overseas and back to states. When I go to visit my remaining family in Pa. I always make the trip back to my home place to drive by house and see what changes have been made. I currently live in Louisville, Ky but home is definitely Berrytown, Pa.
I love houses Pat so I am so excited! Got my block printed today!!
Hi Pat,
Quick question, Are the corner blocks a coordinating piece? Are those corner blocks going to be included in every completed block in this quilt? Just trying to get my fabric coordinated.
Looks great can’t wait to start thanks Pat. I grew up in the same home most of my life until my parents sold it when I was in my 40’s now I am in my home where my kids grew up most of their life where my daughter and son in law brought my granddaughter home. My home is 22 years old and holds so many memories, my son in law is in the military so for the last 8 weeks they have been living with us. My home felt like a home seeing my grandson and granddaughter everyday and helping my daughter and son in law has been great. So my home that I’m in now is my home.
For the past 3 years or “home is where you park it.” Our home has 4 wheels! We have lived in various homes since our children left. Prior to that we lived in a CA home for 28 years. I like our current home but miss a sewing room.
To quote my husband, “Home is wherever my spouse is”. We have moved a lot in out nearly 62 years of marriage. Our longest times apart when I was working in southern Missouri and he did half month stints in Iowa every other month. That was hard on me but it was a necessity for us at that time. So the saying is very true. Home to me is wherever my husband is.
Thank you I have been wanting to do a house block for a while. Love it xx

I’m right behind you, Cheryl. We married in ’76, bought land, & started building our little house with some help from a carpenter friend on the framing and exterior. We moved in during the Blizzard of ’77. Our kitchen sink was a special order that must have gotten lost. After patiently washing the dishes in the sewing/laundry room for six months, we bugged the vendor & it finally arrived. I still do the wash in the laundry room, but moved my sewing machine down to the family room as I needed more quilting space.
Thank you that is a cute block
this looks sweet and I love reading all of the comments
Hubbs and I have lived in this house 25 years. It is big.
I am working on downsizing (slowly)
This house is very open and wonderful with memories of so many gatherings and parties
My home is the one we’ve lived in for 51 years. My husband and his uncle did all the work, plumbing, electrical, bricklaying, roofing. They started in the spring of 1969 and we were married that December. We finally were able to move in in October of 1970. I remember the first couple nights we had no hot water! We raised four children in this home and it’s where I have lived the longest.
I love house blocks. So looking forward to DOING this quilt. Thank you for all do. I will be making mine in blue also. I will be making this quilt for my oldest granddaughter for her home.
I can’t find the download link for the pattern either. I did download the supply list.
Very cute block, Pat! Thank you!
Where do you download the pattern? I cannot find a link.
saved and on my Will do list. I really love Your Morrison Park Fabric.
Can’t wait to start. I remember as a child, my grandparents homes as being cozy and homey. Both of my grandmother’s were great cooks.. The smell of fresh homemade bread with homemade butter or fresh homemade donuts was very soothing and wonderful to eat. I can stil smel them. Part of my Hygge.
I can’t wait to start !!! This will be fun ! Thank You !
I am looking forward to starting and finishing another quilt with you.
Looks fun! I hope to find inspiration in my many many scraps! Thank you!!
